Great for use when skin is dry or not in its best condition. It's so moisturizing that it doesn't flake even in winter, and it truly makes your skin look beautiful. No darkening effect, and it doesn't leave any small bumps or blemishes on the skin after use. There's an odd scent... It smells a bit like cucumber. The coverage isn't particularly impressive. - kk*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 21, 2025
As someone with combination skin, I was most worried about my T-zone breaking down, but this foundation stays fresh until the afternoon without excess oil. Even when it does start to fade, it disappears naturally without patchiness or streaking. When used with blotting papers or a setting spray, your makeup can truly last all day! - Thin and lightweight, yet provides definite coverage - Fades gracefully with excellent staying power - Semi-matte finish perfect for combination skin - Creates a luxurious skin appearance (balancing glow and a matte finish) - May feel a bit too matte for those with dry skin - The puff applicator is somewhat large, making it tricky to apply in delicate areas like around the eyes and nose - On the pricier side (but totally worth it considering the quality!) This foundation seems to be a great option for those with combination skin who struggle with oiliness in the T-zone. It offers a balance between coverage and comfort, with a finish that controls oil without looking flat. The natural fade-off is particularly impressive, as many foundations can look patchy or uneven as they wear away. While it may not be the best choice for very dry skin types, its performance on combination skin appears to be excellent. The price point might be a consideration for some, but many users seem to find the quality justifies the cost. - uk*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 16, 2025
The expression is impressive. As soon as it is applied, it adheres closely to the skin and the breakdown is also beautiful, and the coverage is excellent, so when used on special days, it gives a sense of confidence. Even when it breaks down, it does not clump or become messy, and it naturally transforms into a radiant finish, so touch-ups are not burdensome. It is moisturizing yet finishes with a powdery feel, so it was perfect for combination skin, and the pore coverage was quite good as well. Time tends to cause a slight darkening, so it's best to apply it one shade lighter than desired initially. It's also on the pricier side, so using it daily may be burdensome. The puff's durability is somewhat weak, so frequent cleaning or replacement may be necessary. When making corrections, gently dab on a small amount with a puff, and it will cover without becoming too thick. There will be hardly any visible signs of reapplication, resulting in a very neat finish. - su*******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 8, 2025
While it doesn't provide exceptional coverage, this Yves Saint Laurent cushion gives your skin a naturally beautiful look! I've tried other cushions, but YSL's feels more natural and gives a lovely glow. That's why I keep buying refills! The lid tends to break easily, and if you prioritize coverage, I wouldn't recommend it! This product works well for those seeking a natural finish and Inner Glow, rather than heavy coverage. It's great for evening out your complexion subtly. - so********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 6, 2025
The Encre de Peau cushion from YSL was my first cushion love. In my early 20s, when I was trying to cover blemishes with MAC's cushion balm or Estée Lauder's Double Wear, the moment I first applied Encre de Peau was truly an epiphany! It's the only product I can call my holy grail. Back then, there weren't as many diverse products as we have now. Even today, I occasionally repurchase the refills (though they're so expensive...). The moment you apply the cushion, you get a whiff of watermelon and feel that cooling effect that seems to lower your skin temperature by a degree. The way it provides sheer coverage while moisturizing each and every pore - it's neither matte, but how does it work so well? Unlike my friends whose makeup would completely melt off after a day of dancing at the club, I'd get compliments on my honey-like skin. It's like a super luxurious version of the ink cushion formula. As I've gotten older, I've toned down my makeup, moving away from full coverage looks to products that give a sophisticated subtle glow and enhance my skin's natural texture. While I briefly strayed from this cushion, it's still my go-to foundation for occasions that call for makeup. It provides great coverage while remaining lightweight. Back then, Saint Laurent was the hottest fashion brand, and this YSL cushion was the must-have makeup item... It's like going back in time. After several reformulations, it seems this cushion has lost its way, satisfying neither old fans nor new users. The cooling effect is less noticeable, and the texture has become slightly more silky and heavy. Still, when I look in the mirror 4-5 hours after applying makeup, nothing looks as beautiful as this. - sa*********Normal SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 4, 2025
This is the best cushion I've ever used for skin appearance! When I go out wearing just sunscreen and this Yves Saint Laurent cushion, everyone I meet asks about my cushion because my skin looks so good. It gives a perfect glow without being overwhelming, and even when it fades, it does so naturally without looking messy. My skin looks beautiful all day long. It's like magic - even when my skin isn't at its best, this cushion applies moistly and makes it look great. The coverage is on the lighter side, so you'll need a separate concealer if you have any blemishes. The price is the biggest downside - I have to buy it every time I go to the duty-free shop. For those with blemishes, apply concealer first before using the cushion. This way, the natural glow and skin appearance won't be masked by the concealer. - ye*********Combination SkinRecommendedApr 29, 2025
My skin is sensitive, combination dehydrated, and generally blemish-free! The great thing about this product (based on the pre-renewal version) is that it's nicely moisturizing with just a hint of a semi-matte finish! I absolutely loved that. If you don't set it with powder, it develops a natural glow over time. The only downside, and it's a big one, is that it's ridiculously expensive! Still, I buy it every time I travel abroad. I highly recommend others to grab it at duty-free shops if you have the chance. It doesn't cover dark circles, so a concealer is a must! The coverage is very sheer. - rt********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 26, 2025
I picked up the YSL Le Cushion Encre de Peau at the Incheon Airport duty-free shop. The packaging is luxurious and the name is adorably chic! The elegant exterior of the cushion compact definitely adds a touch of glamour when you're carrying it around. I gave it a perfect score for its natural glow. It's been a while since I've found a cushion that gives such a natural radiance to the skin. However, I was a bit disappointed that when used alone, the staying power isn't incredibly long-lasting. In such cases, it's best to use it in combination with other cushions or base products, focusing on achieving that luminous glow on top. Using it with other cushions or primers can significantly improve its longevity. - zz****Combination SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 19, 2025
As a cushion nomad who mainly used Hera and Jung Saem Mool, I decided to try this after seeing so many rave reviews on YouTube. First off, it's great for fall, winter, and seasonal transitions due to its high hydration. The coverage is light but effectively conceals most blemishes, giving you that porcelain skin look. It's moisturizing and even when it fades, it does so beautifully with minimal darkening! The price is truly wicked... You even have to buy the puff separately, which is just cruel. Also, for summer use, it might be too moisturizing even for my dry skin - feels a bit excessive and might make your hair stick to your face. Apply it right after your sunscreen (like Cell Fusion C) for a plump, moisturized, and well-adhered finish! - cc***Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresApr 17, 2025
The color is beautiful and it adheres well to the skin, so unless you have oily skin, you don't need much touch-up I'm not sure if it's due to an allergic reaction or something else, but I get blemishes on my skin after using it
