This one has a lovely scent and cleanses so thoroughly that double cleansing isn't necessary! But does it feel slippery? Absolutely not! It leaves your skin squeaky clean yet moisturized. I highly recommend it for that perfect balance of cleansing and hydration.
ConsWhile it doesn't produce an abundance of foam, its fine bubbles effectively care for sebum without being harsh. I really liked that there was no tightness after cleansing.
TipFor the perfect routine, use an oil cleanser first, then follow up with the Acwell cleansing foam. You'll achieve skin that feels both clean and hydrated.

My skin profile: 1. Combination dehydrated, oily skin 2. I wear heavy makeup and double cleanse almost daily 3. I prefer products that leave my skin feeling squeaky clean without tightness What I loved: ⭐️ Skin texture - After cleansing, my skin felt wonderfully firm and supple. ⭐️ No tightness - The smooth and gentle finish left my skin feeling hydrated. Even before applying skincare, there was no tightness. ⭐️ Gel texture - This was my first time trying a gel cleanser, and I found it fascinating. Its bouncy texture doesn't run down your hand, which is great. It also doesn't drip excessively when mixed with water. ⭐️ Gentle formula - I wanted something to remove morning oiliness, and compared to stronger cleansers I've used before, this feels gentler and perfect for morning cleansing.
ConsWhat could be improved: 🫥 Cleansing power - As someone who wears heavy makeup daily, I didn't feel like it cleaned thoroughly enough. It seems the gentler formula comes at the cost of cleansing effectiveness. 🫥 Lather - If you're looking for a rich, foamy lather, you might be disappointed. This doesn't produce much foam. 🫥 Slippery finish - The slippery finish typical of low pH cleansers made it hard to tell if I'd cleansed properly. As someone who prefers a squeaky clean feel, this wasn't ideal for me. That's why I use it for morning cleansing rather than as a second step after cleansing oil.

It didn't cleanse too squeaky clean, so I liked that my skin didn't feel overly dry. It feels perfect for morning cleansing! The foam was rich and creamy, and the fresh scent was pleasant without being overwhelming.
ConsIt might be difficult to expect perfect cleansing effectiveness. When wearing heavy makeup, it's best to use this as a second cleanser after thoroughly removing makeup first. Also, the foam isn't extremely abundant. I'm currently using it by mixing in a bit of water to create as much lather as possible.

To make matters worse, I also have atopic dermatitis, so it's been really challenging to find products that work well for me. I was lucky enough to be selected for The Hwahae Testers program and have been using this product for over a week. Here are my honest thoughts: Pros: Hydration: Usually after cleansing, my skin would be so dry that it would flake - especially in winter. With this product, while I still feel some tightness, I'm pleasantly surprised that there's no flaking. (Out of curiosity, I even waited about 20 minutes with just a light mist on my skin.) Cleansing effectiveness: While my cheeks and jawline are dry, my nose and forehead are oily. After cleansing, I didn't have any particular complaints! It seems sufficient for removing sunscreen. Being a gel formula, it seems to gently exfoliate as well, leaving my skin noticeably smoother. Scent: Perhaps due to the licorice extract, it has a slight public bathhouse scent(?), but it's not overpowering so I don't mind it. Gentleness: It's mild! Probably due to its low pH, it didn't sting. I even tried using it twice in a row, and apart from a slight tingling, it was fine. (I did this for the sake of the review, but I recommend using it just once as directed.)
ConsCons: As it's a gel formula, it doesn't lather up easily, making it difficult to create the rich foam I was expecting. I recommend using a bubble maker. My cheeks are extremely dry, so they felt dehydrated after use. This can vary from person to person, so make sure to moisturize according to your skin's needs.
TipI recommend this as a second cleanser. A bubble maker is essential - there's a limit to how much foam you can create by hand.

As someone who rarely wears makeup, I can't speak to its ability to remove cosmetics, but compared to my previous cleanser, it seemed to do a better job of clearing away excess oil and dead skin cells. It also appeared to control sebum production more effectively. Recently, perhaps due to temperature fluctuations, my skin would typically become oily by afternoon after my morning cleanse. However, after using this product, that oily feeling was almost non-existent even until evening, which I really appreciated. As for its effect on pores, the testing period was too short for me to notice any significant difference.
ConsUnlike what's shown in the product images, this cleanser doesn't produce an abundance of foam. Additionally, I noticed a feeling of dryness immediately after patting my face dry post-cleansing. I rarely experienced such intense dryness before, but whether due to its effective oil removal or not, the sensation was similar to what I'd feel after using a slightly alkaline cleanser or regular soap.

Even with my usual skincare routine, I felt a deep hydration without any inner dryness. It seems perfect for maintaining moisture balance.
ConsThe lather isn't particularly rich, and after rinsing, it leaves a slippery feeling rather than a squeaky-clean sensation. I typically avoid low pH cleansers because I dislike the residual feeling on my skin, so this aspect was disappointing. For the same reason, I didn't feel it had exceptional cleansing effectiveness. It seems more suitable for daily morning cleansing rather than removing makeup. One more thing! The product has a distinct scent - I think it would be even better if it came in an unscented version.
TipUsing a foam net helps create a richer lather. If you prefer cleansing with abundant foam, a foam net is a must-have!

My skin can feel tight if it gets too dry, so I usually start with a cleansing water, then finish with a foam cleanser. First off, the scent is a fresh, herbal aroma. The color is a cinnamon brown, though I'm not sure if that's actually from licorice. The subtle, natural fragrance was quite pleasant. The texture is a gel-foam with just the right amount of viscosity, as shown in the photo. While it doesn't create an ultra-rich or abundant lather, I was satisfied with how the gel formula left my skin feeling more hydrated. It didn't leave behind any greasy residue or make my skin feel tight and dry. After using it for a week, I'm impressed with how it leaves my skin feeling more moisturized than my previous cleanser, so I plan to stick with this product for a while. I typically use a powder exfoliant every 2-3 days, but I'm excited to see how this gel foam's dead skin cell cleansing properties perform.
ConsAs you can see in the photo, it was challenging to create a rich lather, but the gel alone seemed to effectively cleanse my pores.

It creates a rich, dense lather. Despite being a low pH product, the foam is surprisingly thick and fine-textured, clinging well to the skin for an effective cleanse rather than sliding off. Post-cleanse, there's minimal tightness. True to its hydration-focused formulation, it leaves skin feeling soft without much dryness, and rinses off smoothly. The skin feels noticeably supple after use, without any slippery residue. It's gentle on the skin. I used it during a period when my skin was acting up, and experienced no burning or itching. The moisturizing effect seemed to reduce flakiness, making it ideal for times when skin is super sensitive. The scent isn't overpowering. While it does contain fragrance, it's mild and not too noticeable, which I found agreeable. The cleansing effectiveness is satisfactory. While it's not extremely powerful due to its low pH nature, it's quite effective for a gentle cleanser. It successfully removed sunscreen and light makeup with just foam cleansing. It also seemed to help with dead skin cell removal.
ConsIt doesn't lather easily. Due to its bouncy texture, you need to work it quite a bit or use a foam maker to create a rich lather. It's not that it doesn't foam at all, but it requires more effort than usual. While not overpowering, the scent might be divisive. It's not particularly strong or irritating, but it's unique compared to typical foam cleansers. Personally, it reminded me of the scent of herbal soaps found in bathhouses. While not unpleasant, it might not be to everyone's taste. The cleansing power isn't strong. While it's decent for a low pH product, it's not particularly powerful. Therefore, I'd recommend it as a second cleanser or for morning cleansing routines.
TipI recommend this for morning cleansing routines. It gently exfoliates dead skin cells and doesn't leave the skin feeling tight or dry, making it perfect for morning use.

Compared to mildly alkaline foams, I felt my skin was more hydrated and my skin texture improved after use. I liked that I could reduce the frequency of using peeling gels just by incorporating this product into my daily cleansing routine. - For those who haven't tried exfoliating products like peeling gels, I'd recommend this as an introduction to exfoliation. Since I experienced the effects of deep cleansing and exfoliation in alleviating blemishes, I've been consistently exfoliating. (However, too frequent exfoliation is a no-no)
Cons- It's more of a functional characteristic than a drawback, but like other cleansing products with exfoliating properties, this one doesn't produce rich and dense foam. The lather feels weak and watery, as if it might absorb into your hands. So, it might not be suitable for those looking for deep pore cleansing. - I'm not a fan of fragrances. Even though it's a cleansing product and I tried not to mind it too much, I was a bit disappointed to see that the fragrance was listed quite high up in the ingredients list, rather than towards the end.
TipFor those with super oily skin like me, I recommend alternating between this product and a mildly alkaline cleansing foam.

Highly recommended for morning cleansing. It has a slight scent (reminiscent of old-school cosmetics), but it's brief and doesn't linger after washing. I haven't used many cleansing gels before, and I was surprised it takes a bit of time to work up a lather in your palms! The cleansing experience isn't a super-fresh, squeaky-clean feeling - you might want to rinse a bit more thoroughly. (This is when you realize it's mildly acidic and gentle.) However, it effectively removes oil around the sides of my nose that builds up overnight! Oh, and here's something interesting - one morning after showering, I forgot to apply any skincare and just had breakfast. Surprisingly, my skin didn't feel tight at all. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I usually feel dry if I don't apply products after cleansing, but this cleanser extends that comfort period! During my menstrual cycle, I often get blemishes on my forehead, but so far, using this product hasn't caused any additional breakouts.
ConsIt takes a while to lather up and doesn't produce an abundance of foam, which was a bit frustrating when I tried to use it as a second cleanser after removing makeup with oil. The residual oil on my hands seemed to hinder the foam production. Despite this, it still manages to cleanse effectively!
TipI've been using this as my go-to morning cleanser!
