  I started using this in late March 2025 and bought it because the price seemed reasonable

  Cons

  Other products are fine, but when I use this one, small blemishes appear on my face. It also takes more rubbing to remove compared to other products. The constant friction with the granules in the balm causes slight irritation to my skin

  Pros

  The sale price was great, and the gua sha tool included as a gratis gift was really useful.

  Cons

  After using this, my skin completely flared up. I've never had such a severe reaction before - it caused a burning sensation, tingling, and itching. If you have sensitive skin, seriously, don't use this. I even patch tested it on the inside of my arm first, but it still caused havoc. It's the first time a cleansing foam has made my skin react this badly. I'm shocked and really upset...

  I bought this product at Olive Young because it was cheap and came with a free hair pin

  Cons

  If you have super sensitive skin, please don't buy this. I'm not particularly sensitive, but ever since I started using this, my skin kept turning red, itchy, and had a burning sensation. I thought it might be due to my makeup, but when I switched to a different cleansing product, it immediately got better. So I ended up using it only three times before throwing it away. I later found out it contains two harmful ingredients. Those with sensitive skin, please take note of my review.

  I tried a cleansing balm for the first time, and I thought, 'So this is what a cleansing balm is like!' Let me summarize the good points: 1. There are small black particles, but they don't irritate the skin much. Overall, it's quite gentle! 2. I loved that my skin didn't feel dry after cleansing! 3. Thanks to the built-in gua sha spatula, you can use it hygienically!

  Cons

  I have acne-prone and sensitive skin, so if I cleanse for too long or too vigorously, the thick texture of the cleansing balm seems to irritate my blemishes. Also, the shea butter ingredient might cause breakouts for oily skin types, so I reluctantly deducted one star.

  Tip

  While it's nice to apply the balm widely with the spatula, it seems to cause irritation if used for too long. I'd recommend adjusting how much you use the spatula depending on your skin condition!

  Pros

  As this is my first cleansing balm, it's hard to compare it with others, but I can compare it to cleansing oils! To cut to the chase, I found it much better than cleansing oils and I'm definitely considering repurchasing. First off, the texture is novel - it doesn't drip like oils, allowing for a neat application. When you massage it on your face, it transforms into an oil-like consistency (but still doesn't run!), which seems to effectively dissolve makeup. The cleansing effectiveness is surprisingly good, making it a far better option for someone like me who's not fond of runny oils. The scent is really appealing too - a subtle matcha fragrance that matcha lovers will adore. While I do follow up with a cleansing foam, I feel like the cleansing balm alone provides sufficient cleansing. I'm not sure if all cleansing balms are like this, but it's neither too thick nor emulsion-like. It glides on smoothly without feeling heavy or compromising on cleansing power. That's why I'm so fond of it!

  Cons

  It's not necessarily because of this cleansing balm (I recently changed my cushion foundation and haven't been sleeping well), but I did get about three blemishes. Looking at the ingredient list, one ingredient does raise a flag. Personally, I'd recommend this more for those with dry skin. However, I still like the texture and scent, and since the blemishes might not be entirely due to this product, I want to soothe my skin and use it up. UPDATE: I take it back! The blemishes don't seem to be from this product after all. It's likely due to the cushion foundation. I've been using this consistently recently and haven't had any issues.

  Tip

  It works great when used with gua sha or facial rolling techniques.

  As a green tea lover, I adored everything from the packaging to the green tea scent. The included spatula is a thoughtful addition, perfect for scooping out the product or for massaging. The texture is like a soft, melting sorbet that's a pleasure to use. While I don't typically wear heavy makeup, this cleanser effectively removes even color cosmetics, showcasing its excellent cleansing effectiveness. For those who wear light makeup, it could potentially be used alone without a separate makeup remover.

  Cons

  The downside for my super sensitive skin is that oil and balm formulations can sometimes trigger blemishes. When my skin isn't at its best, using this product didn't seem to help. It seems to work better on days when I'm wearing more makeup than usual or when my complexion is in good condition. While the product itself seems gentle, it's unfortunate that it doesn't always agree with my skin.

  Apply about a thumb-sized amount to dry skin, gently massage it in, then add a little water to emulsify before rinsing off.
