The original formula definitely leaves your skin feeling hydrated after cleansing. It even removes waterproof mascara really well, leaving your face nice and clean. Since it comes in a balm form, it seems to get used up a bit quickly. But other than that, everything else about it is great. - ip******Oily SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJul 1, 2025
It effectively removes sebum and, despite my oily skin, doesn't leave an excessively greasy feeling. It also does a great job of removing makeup. The downside is that it doesn't excel at extracting sebum or blackheads. If that's your main goal, you might want to consider other options. - sh****Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJul 1, 2025
I bought this because it was popular, and I'm glad I did! It cleanses well and doesn't cause any blemishes. There wasn't really anything to complain about, but having to scoop it out to use is a bit unhygienic and a hassle. - dm******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 1, 2025
I've been using this as my first-ever cleansing balm since last year. I knew Banila Co. was famous for being good. Before trying this balm, I had used oils, waters, and wipes, but my makeup never came off completely, and my skin always reacted badly. You see, I have dry skin that's oily on the surface but extremely dehydrated underneath - a combination dehydrated skin type. Considering my super sensitive skin, I always make sure to double cleanse thoroughly to remove any remaining impurities. Fortunately, this cleansing balm suits my skin best. It doesn't cause any adverse reactions. I've decided to stick with this cleansing balm for years to come. I'm currently on my second tub, having used both the 100ml and 180ml sizes. I'm planning to try other varieties from Banila Co.'s cleansing balm line, considering their cleansing effectiveness and ingredients. The only downside might be that it doesn't remove everything completely on its own. However, I've heard that cleansers that are too strong can actually damage the skin barrier, so I don't really see this as a significant drawback. It still cleanses very effectively. - 48*****Dry SkinRecommendedJun 30, 2025
The texture is like wax and it smells great too. Just scoop out the amount suggested by the included spoon, gently glide it over your face, and massage it in as it melts. It effortlessly removes even heavy eye makeup. Following up with a foam cleanser for double cleansing leaves my skin feeling delightfully smooth. I'll definitely repurchase this! I wish it came in a tube. After using pump-style oil products, scooping this out feels inconvenient. Using a spoon doesn't seem very hygienic either. The inner lid is hard to open, so I removed it completely. Now I just leave the spoon on top of the outer lid. It's a hassle to wash and dry the spoon each time. It removes makeup well, emulsifies nicely, and when followed up with a gentle low-pH foam cleanser, it leaves my skin feeling soft and supple. - 7b********Oily SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJun 30, 2025
I've gone through about 5 bottles of this, and even though I tried the green one, I always come back to the original pink. Without this, I never feel like my makeup is truly removed. Even on days when I only wear sunscreen, I absolutely need this to feel like I've had a thorough cleanse. While everything about it is great, the price point can be a bit daunting every time I need to repurchase. Nevertheless, even though it's expensive, I can't do without it, so I keep emptying bottle after bottle. For those with oily skin, try massaging it on your nose and T-zone for about 3 to 5 minutes. While it may not completely remove whiteheads and sebum, you'll definitely feel like it's helping to clear things up! - my*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 30, 2025
The cleansing effectiveness was impressive, and I loved how quickly and easily it emulsified. The balm-like texture makes it a breeze to scoop out with the spoon and apply to your face. Even those with oily skin can use it without irritation, and it doesn't leave your skin feeling tight after washing. However, it seems the cleansing power might be slightly less potent compared to oil cleansers. - mj***Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 30, 2025
It seems to be on the gentler side, and it removes makeup so smoothly that I've lost count of how many bottles I've gone through. I use this for the first step of my double cleanse, followed by a foaming cleanser, which leaves my skin feeling refreshed and thoroughly clean. It doesn't completely dissolve blackheads, so for that specific concern, an oil cleanser might be more effective. - ch************Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 29, 2025
I've been using this for nearly two years, and it's fantastic at removing makeup while giving my pores a refreshing deep cleanse. A word of caution for those with rough hands: be careful! It can irritate the skin and cause redness. This cleanser seems to be effective for makeup removal and pore cleansing, but may be too harsh for those with sensitive skin or rough hands. It's important to be gentle when applying to avoid irritation. - al**********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJun 28, 2025
This cleansing balm is truly in a league of its own, with perfect cleansing effectiveness, texture, and after-cleanse feel. It melts effortlessly when rolled onto the skin without causing any irritation. Even mascara comes off easily with enough rolling. Unlike some cleansing balms that can feel slippery or oily, this one always provides an excellent user experience. There weren't any particular drawbacks. However, I've tried the green and yellow versions as well, but personally, I found the original pink one to be the best. The product works hard to remove makeup and impurities while being gentle on the skin. It's suitable for all skin types, including those with super sensitive skin. The balm transforms into a silky oil upon application, effectively dissolving makeup and cleansing pores without stripping the skin's natural oil and moisture balance. After rinsing, the skin feels clean, soft, and hydrated without any sticky residue or burning sensation.
