I originally had a toner I was using as an exfoliating toner, but when I first tried using this one the same way, I didn't feel like it provided enough hydration. So I decided to use it as an absorbing toner instead, and wow - it's incredibly moisturizing and gives a real sense of hydration boost! My dryness has improved tremendously. I have combination dehydrated skin, so I struggle with deep dryness and oiliness... It's a real problem if a product doesn't lock in moisture well! This product was great for addressing hydration, redness, and oiliness all at once, but the really disappointing thing is that even though it contains mugwort, I didn't feel any soothing effect... (It did calm down redness, but only that... I didn't feel any calming effect on pimples or acne at all. That's such a letdown! Maybe there's only a small amount of the ingredient...) Try keeping it in the fridge, then soak a cotton pad and apply it like a mask - it really helps with redness! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 22, 2024
Skin type: Extremely dry, prone to blemishes when oil-moisture balance is off As a Hwahae Tester, I used this product religiously morning and evening for 2 weeks straight. My routine included (skin pack, absorption, doctoring, aloe pack addition) Texture: Completely water-based! -> After application, there's a slight moisturizing feel? A silky sensation? It made my skin feel silky smooth! It was a unique sensation I've never experienced before! No stickiness, just soft and supple skin. Doctoring: When used as the first step after cleansing, I'm not quite sure... I prefer toners that feel refreshing and invigorating while providing ample hydration. This one felt like a toner made of 98% water and 2% oil? I wish it had more of a refreshing feel rather than just a thin moisturizing layer for winter use. Not quite the refreshing and hydrating feel I was after, but it did leave my skin soft and moisturized. Skin Pack: I absolutely love applying a skin pack after using retinol! I tried using this to calm my skin after the warmth and redness caused by retinol. Please refer to the photo! I applied 700 all over my face and 1000 on specific areas. It's amazing how visibly calmed my skin looked, even without a cooling effect!! The mugwort extract, known for clarifying skin, and centella asiatica extract seemed excellent for soothing the skin. Aloe Pack Usage (used for a whole week): My skin is extremely dry with a compromised barrier, so I love mixing toner and regenerating cream into an aloe pack. Instead of using water on cotton pads for the aloe pack, I used this toner. I also replaced my usual toner with this one. It provided intense hydration and moisture without feeling sticky or sitting on top of the skin. It offered a perfect balance of firmness, soothing, and moisturizing effects, so I used it religiously. After a week of use, three blemishes and some potential breakouts completely disappeared. Now my face is smooth without any blemishes. The best part is that my skin barrier has become much stronger! With the intense UV rays lately and my job requiring me to work outdoors with a mask on, it's crucial to soothe the redness and irritation on my face after work. I've been using these methods and I'm very satisfied! Those with combination dehydrated or oily skin types looking for a completely water-based formula might find this slightly disappointing. It leaves me wondering if it might be better suited for winter use rather than summer! My top pick is using it for packs! I use it generously in skin packs, modeling packs, and aloe packs. It's great for packs as it prevents moisture from evaporating quickly and helps soothe the skin! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 21, 2024
First off, I'm quite sensitive to fragrances, so I was thrilled that this is fragrance-free! More importantly, it's a light, watery toner that's perfect for summer use. I used it as a hydrating toner, patting it into my skin 3-4 times with my hands, and I didn't feel any tightness. It's great that it doesn't pill when I apply serum on top! I also tried using it as a toner mask by pouring it into DIY toner pads from Daiso. The watery texture makes it easy to create your own toner mask, and when stored in the fridge, it provides a lovely cooling effect that I'm really satisfied with. It's so gentle that I could use it right after eyebrow hair removal without any irritation. I'm thinking of sticking with this toner for the whole summer! Naturally, it can cause irritation if used on active blemishes, so those with severe acne-prone skin might want to consider this carefully. I've been using it for a week since winning it from The Hwahae Testers, but that's too short a time to notice any effects on blemishes. I'll update this review after using it for at least a month. Also, the price feels a bit high for the quantity if you're planning to use it for toner masks. It might be worth looking out for discount coupons or sale periods! After extended use, I didn't really notice any effect on blemishes. However, my breakouts are usually hormonal and happen before my period, so it's probably too much to expect a toner to overcome that! The light, flowing texture would be great for toner masks! After applying makeup, I layered it 3-4 times before sunscreen and didn't feel any tightness. (I have combination skin with an oily T-zone and butterfly zone, and dry elsewhere) However, when used alone, it doesn't provide long-lasting hydration, so it pairs well with a runny serum! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 21, 2024
Bouncy yet refreshing! It locks in deep hydration while leaving a light finish, making it perfect for year-round use. Usually, watery toners feel fresh but can quickly dry out the skin, while heavier formulas provide moisture but can feel heavy or greasy. This one has all the best qualities. I really loved how it's lightweight yet keeps the skin hydrated for a long time. It's gentle! I have atopic and acne-prone skin, but experienced no irritation at all. Great for cooling down the skin! It immediately reduces that heated feeling upon absorption. You can feel the bouncy hydration with just a small amount. Considering the amount needed for each application, I think even one bottle is quite generous. I used it for two weeks with great satisfaction and found nothing particularly disappointing. This is a watery toner that can be used for patting, as an exfoliating toner, or even as a mask. Its versatility is a big advantage - you can use it freely depending on your purpose or daily skin condition. I usually tackled deep dryness by patting it on multiple times. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 21, 2024
I wanted to leave a genuine review, so I'm finally writing this! Wow... I was amazed at how good it was while using it! And I'll definitely repurchase when I run out! What I loved about it is that it applies lightly, isn't sticky, has no fragrance, calms the skin quickly, has great ingredients, and is specifically for acne-prone skin. Plus, it's so moisturizing that when I wake up in the morning, my skin feels firm! I have skin prone to redness and used to be really stressed about it, but after using this toner, I could visibly see the redness diminishing, which was incredible! On days when my redness is severe, I soak a cotton pad generously and place it on my face, and it calms down quickly, so I don't need any other pads! I bought a ton of pads, but I'm not using them at all. Instead, I'm using this toner for exfoliating, toner masks, and absorption - it's that good! I'm ditching all other toners and sticking with this one. If there were any downsides, I'd mention them, but there really aren't any! If you have skin with small blemishes, you absolutely must try this. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 20, 2024
After my trip, my skin was a mess. Summer sun exposure left my face blotchy, and my acne-prone skin had bumpy whiteheads around the chin. I'm extremely satisfied with the results after using the Meditherapy Mugwort Toner for 5 days. The bumpy whiteheads have significantly reduced, and my blotchy skin has calmed down considerably. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I usually feel dry with just toner and emulsion, but with this mugwort toner and my usual emulsion, the hydration is great! I use about half a palm's worth... absorbing a generous amount into my face, and it's incredibly gentle. It has a water-like texture with no stickiness. It's also fragrance-free. I wish they had a smaller size available for when I'm traveling! I mainly use it as an essence toner. I pour about half a palm's worth, rub it between both hands, and then pat it into my skin to help it absorb. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 20, 2024
Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin leaning towards oily, with occasional large blemishes (becomes fully oily in hot summer weather) Usage: Applied with a cotton pad as an exfoliating toner, morning and night Experience: I previously had a go-to exfoliating toner that I'd finished over four bottles of. It left a refreshing finish but was drying. This one, however, is refreshing AND hydrating - I love it! It's lightweight yet moisturizing, making it perfect for oily skin year-round. It might even suit dry skin types in hot summer weather. I'm so impressed that I'll likely switch to this from my usual product. Overall: 5/5 stars Highly recommended! After using it twice daily for two weeks: - No new blemishes appeared on my acne-prone skin - Didn't sting even when it got in my eyes - A hydrating yet lightweight toner suitable for sensitive skin I was hesitant due to lack of reviews, but I'm thrilled to have found such a great product! While there's nothing disappointing about the product itself, I wish it came in a larger size for exfoliating toner use. Despite its lightweight texture, it leaves a hydrated finish. I enjoyed layering it multiple times as an alternative to aloe gel, even under a modeling mask! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 20, 2024
Skin type: Severely dehydrated with occasional blemishes. History of seborrheic dermatitis, so my skin tends to be sensitive and prone to small bumps. Usage period: Over a week The toner has a water-like, fluid texture. The scent is very subtle and not bothersome at all, which made it easy to use without any aversion. While I can't say for certain about its soothing properties, as someone with sensitive skin, I didn't experience any significant burning sensation. When used as a mask, it showed decent effectiveness in combating deep dryness. The volume is small compared to the amount needed for use, and it's best not to have high expectations for its soothing effects. However, it works quite well for deep hydration when used as a mask. If you're not too concerned about the product volume, it's particularly effective for dry areas. Try soaking a cotton pad with the toner, placing it on your skin, then removing it before starting your skincare routine. This method allows you to begin your regimen without any feeling of tightness. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJun 20, 2024
I have acne-prone skin. With the weather getting hotter lately, my face and neck keep heating up, making blemishes appear much more easily. My previous toner would dry out my skin immediately after application, making it difficult to layer other products on top. So I was looking for a more hydrating toner. I dislike sticky or watery toners, which made finding the right one challenging. But the Super Calming Toner met all my criteria! It applies with a silky texture, creating a thin layer of hydration. I found myself constantly reapplying and touching my face. I've used it religiously for two weeks, and the moisturizing yet fresh feeling is so addictive that I immediately tossed my old toner. I'll definitely repurchase when I run out. Due to acne, I had a lot of red marks, but they've significantly faded. I think it's because of the soothing effect. This toner is also excellent for improving skin texture. Highly recommended! I didn't notice my complexion brightening, unfortunately. Maybe it's because of the strong summer sun... This toner is perfect for those who hate sticky textures! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 20, 2024
GOOD • Extremely gentle. I don't usually do the 7-skin method, but despite having super sensitive skin, this product's biggest advantage is that I can layer it multiple times without causing any blemishes. • When applied using the patting method in several layers, the skin becomes plump and incredibly hydrated. This toner seems to work better when used with the patting technique. • While its strengths appear to be soothing and hydration, I was amazed to see that it even helped reduce the acne on my chin bit by bit. BAD • Although it's a hydrating product, you might need to apply an oil-based product afterward to balance the oil and moisture levels. • It's not an extraordinary soothing product. You need to apply it consistently to see calming effects. I'm a big fan of mixing aloe vera gel, this toner, and a moisturizing cream in a 1:2:1 ratio, applying it to my face, and then placing a damp sheet mask on top. The result? My skin texture becomes absolutely divine! I use this toner frequently in this way.
