As someone with combination dehydrated skin and super sensitive skin, I prefer gentle toners. What I loved most about this one is that it's fragrance-free. The ultra-watery texture is perfect for soaking cotton pads and using them as a mask-like treatment! It also works wonderfully when mixed into modeling masks, adding extra hydration. Plus, it didn't cause any blemishes, making it great for those seeking a gentle skincare option. The downside is that it's just... average? While it didn't cause any breakouts, I didn't notice any significant soothing effects either. When used alone, I couldn't really feel any outstanding moisturizing benefits. It lacks that wow factor in terms of performance. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 21, 2024
First off, I'm quite sensitive to fragrances, so I was thrilled that this is fragrance-free! More importantly, it's a light, watery toner that's perfect for summer use. I used it as a hydrating toner, patting it into my skin 3-4 times with my hands, and I didn't feel any tightness. It's great that it doesn't pill when I apply serum on top! I also tried using it as a toner mask by pouring it into DIY toner pads from Daiso. The watery texture makes it easy to create your own toner mask, and when stored in the fridge, it provides a lovely cooling effect that I'm really satisfied with. It's so gentle that I could use it right after eyebrow hair removal without any irritation. I'm thinking of sticking with this toner for the whole summer! Naturally, it can cause irritation if used on active blemishes, so those with severe acne-prone skin might want to consider this carefully. I've been using it for a week since winning it from The Hwahae Testers, but that's too short a time to notice any effects on blemishes. I'll update this review after using it for at least a month. Also, the price feels a bit high for the quantity if you're planning to use it for toner masks. It might be worth looking out for discount coupons or sale periods! After extended use, I didn't really notice any effect on blemishes. However, my breakouts are usually hormonal and happen before my period, so it's probably too much to expect a toner to overcome that! The light, flowing texture would be great for toner masks! After applying makeup, I layered it 3-4 times before sunscreen and didn't feel any tightness. (I have combination skin with an oily T-zone and butterfly zone, and dry elsewhere) However, when used alone, it doesn't provide long-lasting hydration, so it pairs well with a runny serum! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinJun 21, 2024
✓ Texture It's not too thick and has that characteristic bouncy feel you get with hyaluronic acid products, which I really like. It absorbs well too. It truly has a watery consistency. ✓ Scent It's practically fragrance-free. I'm usually quite sensitive to scents, but with this product, I only noticed a very faint smell when I first used it. I've been using it morning and night, and I love that I can't really detect any fragrance! ✓ When used as a mask Considering the season and how my face has been feeling hot and sensitive lately, I tried soaking cotton pads with this toner and placing them on areas prone to heat. I felt a slight cooling effect along with a soothing sensation. ✓ Compatibility with other products From my experience trying various skincare products, I've realized that the toner step, whether in night or morning care, is crucial for preparing the skin to better absorb the ingredients in subsequent products. This toner feels like it does exactly that! It seems to prime the skin for serums and creams. And it actually works well in practice! To be honest, I can't really find any downsides based on my standards. Perhaps if you're not a fan of the slippery feeling typical of hyaluronic acid toners, you might find that aspect uncomfortable... But other than that, I don't see any particular drawbacks. Mask tip! Soak some cotton pads with the toner and place them on your face while you dry your hair. It keeps your skin hydrated and cool until your hair is dry. When you remove the pads, your skin feels slightly 'pickled' by the toner, leaving it super soothed! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinJun 21, 2024
The slightly runny texture is great for cooling down your face after a shower or when you come in from outside. What's even better is that it's fragrance-free! The downside is that it's so thin it drips everywhere before you can even apply it to your face. If you layer it a few times, it really helps with deep dryness! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 20, 2024
Skin type: Severely dehydrated with occasional blemishes. History of seborrheic dermatitis, so my skin tends to be sensitive and prone to small bumps. Usage period: Over a week The toner has a water-like, fluid texture. The scent is very subtle and not bothersome at all, which made it easy to use without any aversion. While I can't say for certain about its soothing properties, as someone with sensitive skin, I didn't experience any significant burning sensation. When used as a mask, it showed decent effectiveness in combating deep dryness. The volume is small compared to the amount needed for use, and it's best not to have high expectations for its soothing effects. However, it works quite well for deep hydration when used as a mask. If you're not too concerned about the product volume, it's particularly effective for dry areas. Try soaking a cotton pad with the toner, placing it on your skin, then removing it before starting your skincare routine. This method allows you to begin your regimen without any feeling of tightness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 20, 2024
Skin type: Dry, sensitive, acne-prone I have extremely dry and sensitive skin, and recently I've been dealing with a lot of blemishes, so I'm paying close attention to skincare ingredients. Packaging: Green cap Transparent bottle I like the clean design, and it's great that you can see the contents inside, making it easy to check how much product is left. Scent: Completely fragrance-free There's absolutely no smell when applying it to the face. I'm not a fan of artificial cosmetic scents, so I appreciate that this one is unscented. Texture and application: It has a typical toner consistency. I used it before applying serums and creams. While it didn't cause or reduce blemishes, it was pleasant to use. I'll need to use it longer to properly assess its soothing effects, but after about a week of use, it seems fine. It absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a sticky residue or sit on top of the skin, which is nice. Formula: Very watery consistency Great for soaking cotton pads to use as a toner mask The formula is suitable for layering and multiple applications Stickiness: Almost no sticky feeling Blemishes: The ingredients are gentle, so it didn't cause any breakouts There's nothing particularly disappointing, but I didn't notice any dramatic soothing effects For best results, chill the toner and use it as a mask, or apply multiple layers for enhanced hydration - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 20, 2024
Texture: It has an extremely watery, thin consistency. Scent: There's a subtle fragrance, though it's not really my cup of tea. Experience: I didn't experience any irritation, and it's great for light application. I have sensitive, thin skin. I used this product to cool down my face after working out. It seems to be a good product for gentle use as it doesn't cause any blemishes or irritation. I didn't experience any blemishes. The scent is subtle, but it's slightly artificial, which I didn't particularly enjoy. While I wouldn't discourage its use, I found the price-to-volume ratio and overall experience a bit disappointing. Since the toner has a water-like consistency, you can apply multiple layers without it feeling heavy! You can also soak a cotton pad and place it on irritated areas to help reduce heat and soothe the skin! I even tried keeping it in the fridge and using it cold, which felt great! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 20, 2024
After using it for about two weeks, I have to say: While I didn't see any dramatic effects, there are some positives! The best part is that it's fragrance-free. This makes it really pleasant to use - no off-putting scents at all! I think even those with sensitive noses would find this comfortable to use. The absorption is fantastic too. It really sinks into the skin well! It does leave a slightly sticky finish, so I might not reach for it as much during the summer months. Unfortunately, after two weeks of use, I didn't notice any significant effects or changes to my skin. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 19, 2024
Personally, I liked that the scent was almost unnoticeable. Despite its very watery consistency, it didn't evaporate as quickly as similar products when applied. I used it in layers, and while it doesn't absorb instantly, I found that patting it in or allowing sufficient time for absorption helped with any initial stickiness. Thanks to this, I didn't experience any sudden feelings of dryness, which is great! Apart from one major blemish on my chin due to hormonal changes, I didn't notice any significant changes in my skin's condition. It seemed fine for minor blemishes, but it didn't have a noticeable effect on larger ones. While I can't really fault the product for hormonal issues, I thought it was worth mentioning. Overall, I'll need to use it consistently to see long-term results, but I'm pleased that it didn't cause any irritation and didn't leave my skin feeling overly dry. I've been decanting it into a spray bottle, misting it on right after cleansing, then gently patting it in. If I need more hydration, I'll apply a bit extra using my hands or a cotton pad to help it absorb! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 19, 2024
The texture is perfect for use as a toner pack. It's not too sticky, which prevents it from feeling like it's overlapping with serums. It's especially great for summer as it feels refreshing and suits the weather well. The mugwort ingredient seems to provide an excellent soothing effect when used as a cold toner pack on hot days. The scent is also pleasantly mild. When dispensing into your hands, be careful as the consistency is a bit thin. It works best when you saturate a thin cotton pad and use it as a pack! I found the most satisfying and effective way to use this for soothing was to chill the toner, apply it to my face as a pack, and leave it on for about 5 minutes.
