When I discovered foam toners, I thought they might be less irritating. I also started using this because my face felt hot, and it claimed to help reduce heat and improve the skin's moisture barrier. - Texture: The foam texture is definitely less irritating, which I love! When my dermatologist told me my skin barrier was compromised, they recommended gently cleansing with just foam instead of cleansing milk. Applying this toner in the same way - just gently massaging the foam - was much less irritating. - Redness and heat care: Initially, my skin did redden a bit upon application. However, I found that if I gently massaged it and then let the remaining foam absorb on its own instead of rubbing until it completely disappeared, it felt cooling and temporarily reduced heat. The initial redness also subsided. - Scent: The fragrance isn't particularly pleasant. - Stickiness: There's a slight stickiness if you touch the residue on your hands after application. Interestingly, while my face usually feels greasy with sticky products, this one absorbs well without that issue. - Sensitivity: Despite containing four potentially sensitizing ingredients (oils), I decided to try it for its skin barrier strengthening properties. Fortunately, it didn't cause any blemishes as I had worried it might. - Overall: I'm currently doing home care for my compromised skin barrier (diagnosed at the dermatologist, no treatments yet). I've been minimizing my routine to just cleansing gel foam -> soothing cream, trying various products. I really wanted to add a toner, so I tried this foam toner and it worked well for me! I think I'll stick to foam toners in the future.
ConsDrawbacks: Slightly sticky, initial redness (though it subsides), and while it provides temporary cooling, I'm not sure how long it lasts (similar to the brief cooling sensation after using refreshing toothpaste or a cooling scalp shampoo).
Tip- I found it more effective in reducing heat when I gently massaged it and then let the remaining foam absorb on its own, rather than rubbing until all the foam disappeared. - I experience significant facial heat after showering, but applying this foam toner immediately, followed by a soothing cream after a short while, helps manage the heat! Additional review after 10+ days of daily use: - My skin seems to have adapted - no more redness upon application! - I've found the right amount to use, so there's no stickiness anymore! - I'm really satisfied with the foam toner texture. I think I'll stick with it. - The only downside is how quickly the product seems to be running out.
