I have sensitive eyes and sometimes they'd sting even when no foam touched them, but with this shampoo, it's fine! Also, my hair feels softer without using a separate treatment.
ConsThe downside is... it seems like the cleansing effectiveness is a bit weak, so I end up using more. But I still like it because it's mild.

It has a gentler feel compared to regular shampoos, so when your hair is dry in winter, you might not even need conditioner. I don't like strong scents, so this one is pleasantly mild. It's great for when your scalp is sensitive!
ConsThe cleansing effectiveness is weaker than regular shampoos, so you might need to use more if your hair is oily. If you have an oily scalp, it's probably best to avoid using this in summer!
TipThis shampoo is ideal for dry winter months or when you wash your hair frequently morning and night. It's also great to use in rotation with other shampoos, especially when your scalp isn't in the best condition!

Cons- As mentioned in other reviews, the cleansing effectiveness might be weak, so you may not feel like you've had a thoroughly refreshing hair wash! - It feels a bit pricey. - While it seems to soothe and hydrate the hair, it falls noticeably short in terms of improving hair elasticity.

First off, Cheongmijung? It's a brand I trust and buy from confidently. Seaweed shampoo? It's so famous, I've been wanting to try it. As for the scent, being a seaweed shampoo, I expected some kind of seafood or ocean smell. But surprisingly, it has more of a citrusy fragrance. (It's similar to the acetone scent from WaveOO products. But don't get me wrong, it absolutely doesn't smell like alcohol!! It's just a citrusy scent with a very slight hint of sweetness!) Considering the product's ingredients and the brand image, I'd highly recommend it, but personally, my experience with it so far is just okay.. I'll use it for a bit longer and then update my review.
ConsIn terms of lather, it doesn't produce a rich, dense foam. The bubbles are light and airy like hand soap, quickly disappearing with a 'whoosh'. This makes it feel like it's not spreading evenly, and the cleansing effectiveness seems weak, so I end up using more product, which means it runs out quickly. I have dry hair with bleached ends. When I used only this shampoo and compared it to using other shampoos alone, my hair felt stiff and dry after drying.

I've even dealt with seborrheic dermatitis in the past, so I'm quite particular about choosing shampoos. The texture is slightly thinner than typical shampoos. While the lather isn't super rich, it foams up nicely during the second wash. There's a slight feeling that it might not have rinsed out completely, but my scalp didn't become greasy quickly. It truly feels like a gentle shampoo, and considering that, the cleansing effectiveness is quite good.
ConsFor those with really oily scalps, the cleansing power might be a bit lacking. The need to shake the bottle before use is a minor inconvenience.
TipMake sure to follow the instructions and do both a first and second wash!

However, after reading the product description and trying it myself, I realized it's more focused on hair care than scalp treatment! The scent is reminiscent of candy soda - cool and refreshing. It's not overpowering or artificial, so I think most people would find it pleasant. It's actually quite subtle. As someone with damaged hair from a hippie perm, I can't say this shampoo makes my hair incredibly silky, but it does leave it feeling less dry. I usually apply a leave-in treatment after washing, and compared to my previous shampoo, this one seems to make my hair calmer and a bit softer. The ingredients are gentle, and I didn't experience any irritation while using it. If you're looking for a mild shampoo that focuses on hair care, I'd recommend this one!
ConsThe cleansing effectiveness isn't particularly strong. It's fine for winter use, and my hair doesn't feel greasy afterwards. However, it might not be ideal for summer when you need more thorough cleansing.

I'm sticking with this one from now on. <User Profile> I'm in my mid-thirties, and while I don't have hair loss, my crown tends to thin a bit when I'm stressed. The main reason I wanted to try this shampoo was because of dryness. My whole body is very dry, but while I can manage elsewhere, my hair is seriously problematic. It's brittle, frizzy due to static, and the flaking in winter is just awful. <Product Review> First off, the included stickers are a trendy touch, allowing you to personalize your shampoo bottle. You can even note the opening date - quite thoughtful. I expected a fishy smell due to the seaweed, but it actually has a refreshingly clean scent. However, while rinsing, there's a slight seaweed aroma which was a bit surprising. The lather is rich and abundant. The instructions suggest shampooing the hair first, rinsing, then focusing on the scalp and leaving it for a minute before rinsing again. <Results> It's incredibly hydrating. The flakes disappeared immediately. When I accidentally used a different shampoo once, the flakes returned right away, proving this one's effectiveness. I used to have a routine of shampoo, conditioner, hydrating product, and blow-drying to manage my hair. But this shampoo alone gives nearly the same results as my entire previous routine. At first, I thought it might not do much for hair texture, being just a shampoo. But after two weeks of use, I'm amazed at how much better my hair feels. The hydrated scalp has brought back volume at the roots, making my hair look fuller. As someone with a dry scalp, I've always been disappointed that most shampoos cater to oily scalps (with menthol). I'm grateful for this hydrating product. Interestingly, when I suggested it to a friend with very oily hair at the gym, he found it too moisturizing and felt it didn't cleanse thoroughly enough. That just shows how hydrating it really is!
ConsThe usage instructions are a bit complicated. It seems to suggest a double cleanse, which is unusual for shampoo and took some getting used to. Also, it's a shame that the stickers come off when they get wet.
TipThe benefits become more noticeable with continued use, so stick with it! Interestingly, using it with conditioner seems to slightly reduce the shampoo's effectiveness. My hair actually feels more hydrated when I use the shampoo alone.

Scent -Not unscented, has a slight artificial fragrance similar to hand sanitizer. (This reviewer was fine with it, but those sensitive to fragrances should take note!) 2. Lather -Lathers well, but if hair is very oily, it may not lather as much, requiring more shampoo. Lathers better after wetting hair for 2-3 minutes. (This reviewer has shoulder-length hair with slightly thick volume, usually uses 1.5 pumps, or 2-3 pumps divided if hair hasn't been washed for two days) [After-Use Review] -While the Labo** shampoo made hair stiff, this shampoo leaves hair soft and moisturized. -Surprisingly, even damaged hair from 2-3 years ago became soft without using conditioner or treatment. -(Individual results may vary) Scalp seems less dry and dandruff appears reduced compared to before.
Cons-Cleansing power: Doesn't leave the scalp feeling refreshed or thoroughly cleansed. Probably due to the natural ingredients used. -Price: Requires a significant investment, so it's best to wait for discounts before purchasing. -As it's a natural shampoo with a mild scent, scalp odor seems to return after a few hours. -It would be better if usage instructions were also in Korean on the bottle! It's a shame they're only in English.
Tip-Following the usage instructions by doing a pre-wash followed by the main wash (total of 2 washes) seems to produce more lather and gives a better cleansing feeling compared to washing just once.

My scalp type is closest to oily (seborrheic dermatitis). The shampoo has a very liquid-like consistency. While it's not particularly strong in cleansing effectiveness, you need to use a bit more to feel like you've properly shampooed. It seems more suitable for dry scalps rather than oily ones. For someone with seborrheic dermatitis like me, it doesn't seem to be the best fit.
ConsI wouldn't say the cleansing effectiveness is weak, but you do need to use quite a bit of product. It probably won't suit those looking for a strong cleansing shampoo.

After using this product, I'm most satisfied with how well it tackles the itching. The stubborn dandruff seems to have decreased slightly, though not dramatically. The scent reminds me of green tea or similar green fragrances you might be familiar with. Usually, shampoos like this make my hair feel extremely stiff, making it difficult to massage my scalp. However, I was surprised that the Cheongmijung Seaweed Shampoo doesn't leave my hair feeling overly stiff.
ConsIf you have very oily hair, you might not be satisfied with just one wash. The cleansing effectiveness is a bit lacking. Even though I have shoulder-length hair, I have quite a thick mane, so one pump wasn't enough. I needed to use an extra pump or two for the nape and back of my head. It feels like it might run out quickly. However! Despite this, it's so effective at relieving itchiness that I'm still considering purchasing it again.
TipI think it would work well as a first-step shampoo in your routine!
