My hair texture seems to have definitely improved. Regular shampoos can make my hair feel a bit stiff, but this one doesn't. When you lather it up for the first time, rinse, and then lather again, it foams up really well! It's a bit of a hassle to shampoo twice, but that's probably why it cleanses so well!
ConsThere's a feeling that it gets oily quickly, but it's not too bad. However, it might be a bit challenging for those with very oily scalps.
TipIf you want moderate cleansing effectiveness while protecting your hair texture, this shampoo seems to be a good choice!

Cons- As mentioned in other reviews, the cleansing effectiveness might be weak, so you may not feel like you've had a thoroughly refreshing hair wash! - It feels a bit pricey. - While it seems to soothe and hydrate the hair, it falls noticeably short in terms of improving hair elasticity.

Unlike my previous Aro**ca shampoo that left my hair feeling squeaky clean and dry, the Cheongmijung Seaweed Shampoo finishes with a much softer and smoother feel. At first, I was worried it hadn't cleansed properly, but it actually cleanses well while keeping the scalp moisturized, making it less irritating for my hair and scalp! It's a game-changer how it leaves my hair soft without making it greasy. I love how hydrating it is - I used to have so much static electricity in winter, but it's significantly reduced after using this product. You can see in the photo how much I've used over 10 days.
ConsDue to its thinner consistency, you need to pump more compared to other shampoos to get a satisfactory lather. While this is a bit disappointing, the moisturizing effect and finish are so good... Although I got to try it this time through The Hwahae Testers, I think I'll be purchasing it with my own money next time.

Texture: When lathering up with the same amount I usually use, I noticed the foam was more delicate and soft rather than dense and rich. The shampoo has a consistency similar to a hydrating ampoule - quite fluid. Experience: Perhaps it's because of the 'seaweed shampoo' name, but I felt a smooth, hydrating sensation. ✨ It's exactly that soft, moisturizing feel. The foam is gentle, and there's absolutely no friction when rinsing, which made me feel like I was losing less hair. Scent: To me, it has a citrusy apple scent! But since it's not a perfume shampoo, the fragrance isn't overpowering and doesn't linger on the hair. Even for someone sensitive to scents like me, it wasn't bothersome. Blemishes and Irritation: I did get one scalp pimple after using it. But since I occasionally get scalp acne anyway, I can't definitively blame the Cheong Mi Jeong Seaweed Shampoo for this. As mentioned earlier, this shampoo feels incredibly gentle, so there was no irritation at all. No scalp burning either. Design: I appreciated the intuitive design and how you can see the contents clearly - it's clean and nice.
ConsThe flip side of being soft and moisturizing is that it doesn't give that squeaky-clean, dry feeling! Because of this, as someone with combination dehydrated scalp, I felt it wasn't quite refreshing enough without a pre-wash shampoo. Especially since I have permed hair and use curl cream and polish oil daily. While it seems to cleanse the curl cream well, for the polish oil, a pre-wash is absolutely necessary.. When there's a lot of oil in my hair, it really doesn't lather well. The price feels a bit on the higher side...
Tip* Strongly recommend a pre-wash shampoo! * For combination scalp, it's fine from evening wash until the next evening! * Not recommended for extremely oily scalp

First off, I have a sensitive scalp that tends to break out and get itchy with the wrong shampoo, but thankfully, this one didn't cause any issues at all! As it's a seaweed-based shampoo, it feels silky and gentle when using it. After washing, my hair feels incredibly soft and smooth - I love it! The scent is also pleasant - I expected it to smell like seaweed, but it has a nice, subtle fragrance that's not overpowering. My hair tends to get oily, but this shampoo has good cleansing effectiveness, so I'm satisfied!
ConsIt doesn't lather up much, and even when it does, the bubbles disappear after a few scalp massages, which is a bit disappointing. However, I've heard that gentle shampoos generally don't produce much foam, so overall, I'm still satisfied.

I was lucky enough to be selected as a Hwahae Tester for this famous shampoo. When I first used it, I wondered if it would cleanse well due to its slippery texture. It lathers nicely and doesn't have any harsh artificial fragrances. After rinsing and drying my hair, I noticed that even my permed hair felt softer. My scalp doesn't itch, and the ingredients are great. They say it's even safe for pregnant women to use, which is a plus.
ConsWhen washing my hair, the texture doesn't feel as smooth as seaweed, as one might expect. It's not a liquid formula, but it doesn't have that squeezed-out feeling either. Being made from natural ingredients, I tend to reach for it when my hair isn't in the best condition. The price is quite high, so I'd have to think twice before actually purchasing it.
TipUse consistently. Recommended for use when recovering from fatigue.

Except for citric acid, there are no harmful ingredients for any skin type, and the EWG ratings are excellent. It seems especially suitable for pregnant women. As expected from a seaweed-infused shampoo, the texture feels slippery with noticeable hydration. It lathers just enough without being inconvenient and cleanses effectively, which I'm very satisfied with. It also feels gentler on the scalp compared to other shampoos. I have extremely thick, strong, and very long hair that's like a wig, so regular shampoos often leave my hair very dry in winter. Hydrating or protein shampoos can weigh down my hair due to their moisture content, sometimes even eliminating volume and causing clumping (like some old department store brands). Usually, my scalp gets itchy and more prone to clumping over time, but with the Cheongmijung Seaweed Shampoo, I didn't experience any of these issues. It strikes a perfect balance between feeling refreshed and not dried out. Among all the shampoos I've tried, this one seems to achieve the best equilibrium between scalp health and hydration. While it's not moisturizing per se, it doesn't cause any dryness from shampooing. It maintains root volume without compromising it and even enhances curl definition by providing moisture and slight nourishment to hair that's losing its curl. So far, I haven't experienced any dandruff or scalp itchiness while using it. With my previous shampoos, I always felt itchy when it was time to wash my hair, but with this one, there's absolutely no itching. I've tried a wide range of shampoos, from high-end pharmaceutical anti-hair loss shampoos to Nonfiction, Kim Kardashian's hairstylist's brand, various 'clean' shampoos, the entire Hair Plus line, and even supermarket brands. Considering both the user experience and post-wash styling, this one is my favorite by far.
ConsThe downside is that, as a brand that minimizes artificial fragrances and synthetic ingredients, there's hardly any shampoo scent left even after blow-drying, and after a few hours, you might notice a scalp odor. I naturally don't have much of a scalp smell, so it doesn't bother me much, but those who are sensitive to scalp odors or prone to them might find it concerning. While my scalp doesn't feel dry, itchy, or greasy over time, which is great, the hair ends tend to get dry and stick together in clumps. For those like me with thick, dry hair, when your hair starts clumping together after a day or two, it might be helpful to apply some body oil or natural oil, or use an oil mist or scalp mist on the hair ends, followed by some oil.
TipIf it weren't for the smell issue, this product would be great for use year-round, even in summer. For those like me with dry hair that doesn't easily get greasy and who don't have dandruff or scalp concerns, but find the scalp odor bothersome with this shampoo, you might want to try using Cheongmijung's scalp essence for added hydration. Alternatively, you could apply a drop of 100% natural oil perfume to your hands, rub them together, and gently pat your scalp area. This could help cover any scalp odor. It doesn't have to be an expensive brand - there are inner perfumes available these days to consider. I'm also using Cheongmijung's scalp essence, which is very hydrating and smells nice, but it seems to make my scalp a bit itchy, so I don't use it often.
