Overall impression: You're the perfect summer brightening moisturizer. A bouncy, middle-ground CC cream with tone-up effects! Products I've tried: Tested all Olive Young options, long-term use with Numbuzin. 1. Texture Initially feels like a moisturizing mineral sunscreen with tiny beads (similar to Cue&Co). As you blend, it transforms into a beige tint, offering slight coverage and evening out skin tone! In my opinion, it's one of the smoothest and bounciest tone-up creams on the market. 3. Oil-moisture balance, stickiness, etc. I've tested all the tone-up sunscreens available at Olive Young, and this one had the best texture for me. Some were too oily, others too dry, and some were so watery that the tone-up effect was minimal. For my combination-dry skin, this felt like the perfect middle ground among what's available. At first, it seemed more slippery than Numbuzin, but that sensation fades quickly. Compared to Numbuzin, it feels bouncier with less oil. While I used Numbuzin in winter, this one should work well through early summer! 4. Pilling, sliding Some tone-up products tend to settle into pores as oil production increases throughout the day, but I haven't experienced that with this one! It might bunch up slightly if you rub it after applying powder, but that's a common issue with most base products. 5. Brightening effect While I didn't notice much difference, my family members said this made me look more naturally bright and even provided some coverage! The color seems to blend seamlessly into the skin. 6. Longevity I generally don't have issues with base makeup fading, so it's hard for me to judge. However, it doesn't feel like it's disappearing, so it should hold up well as long as you're not sweating excessively. The dispensing amount...? You can cover your whole face with less product than expected, but it feels like it comes out too forcefully. Other than that, I didn't find anything particularly bothersome. Rather than dispensing all at once, it's better to press twice gently. Instead of fully pressing down, try a light touch to dispense a small amount and distribute it across your face for easier control of the quantity! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinMay 9, 2025
Quick review: Smooth application, non-greasy corrective filter sunscreen Texture and feel: A hybrid between an ampoule and emulsion. Applies smoothly and moistly, becoming more elastic as you spread it. There's a slight glow right after application, but for dry skin, it feels like it dries to a powdery finish over time. No discomfort like skin tightness. Coverage: Joint first place among tone-up sunscreens I've used! Considering application and feel, it's definitely number one! I've always worried about freckles on my cheekbones, but this provides natural coverage like a soft filter. Especially great at covering dark tones around the mouth! (It's not dramatic, but I'm terrible at makeup and even foundation doesn't cover my freckles... In comparison, I'm very satisfied with the coverage from just this sunscreen!) Staying power: Quite a bit of transfer to masks. After a full day of activity, no clumping or caking, but it fades transparently in areas with mask friction. Irritation: Hardly felt any irritation while using. However, when used on days with poor skin condition, there was some itching and blemishes. Recommended for use when skin condition is average or better! Scent: Unscented (couldn't detect any fragrance) Effectiveness: During the testing period, I had days with long outdoor activities, but my skin held up well without stinging or heat. Thanks to this, I didn't need to use the sunstick I brought just in case! Areas for improvement: During the testing period, I didn't find anything particularly disappointing! If I had to pick one thing, maybe the transfer to masks...? The texture is moisturizing enough that you can apply it with minimal skincare without worrying about deep dryness (maybe because it's summer...?) If you're looking for a moisturizing tone-up sunscreen, but found Dalba too greasy for summer use, I recommend trying Abib! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 9, 2025
✨Skin Type - Combination dehydrated skin with oily tendencies. I don't prefer sunscreens that become too greasy over time, as they make my skin look like it's covered in cooking oil. ✨Texture - Spreads smoothly and feels moisturizing - The capsules in the formula burst gently, naturally evening out the skin tone - Feels like applying a hydrating brightening moisturizer ✨Scent - The subtle fragrance is satisfying! ✨Perceived Effects - Usually, mineral sunscreens leave my skin feeling too dry, but this product maintains a nice level of hydration, which I really appreciate - The natural tone-evening effect allows for a foundation-free look! ✨Overall Impression - Perfect for those who find typical mineral sunscreens too drying or leaving a white cast! - Ideal for anyone seeking a natural brightening moisturizer with high SPF - While it might be slightly drying for those with dry skin, it should work well for combination and oily-dehydrated skin types :) - Thanks to this product, I was able to speed up my morning routine! There was some pilling, but it disappeared easily with a quick rub, so it wasn't a big issue :) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 9, 2025
1. Natural brightening moisturizer effect 2. Long-lasting even during outdoor activities 3. Pump container 1- When I first squeezed out the product, I was slightly concerned that the white color might not suit my 22 shade skin. However, it has a color-changing feature that creates a natural, middle-tone brightening effect - not too white or yellow like some BB creams. The application feels smooth, and you can apply it easily like a regular cream. I made sure to apply it carefully around the nose area! 2- I had to spend a whole day outdoors with one cheek exposed to strong sunlight! This is when I really came to trust the product's staying power. As shown in the last review photo, only that area received constant sunlight, but after cleansing in the evening, there were no red marks or tan lines at all! Usually, prolonged outdoor exposure leads to redness, but there was none. I realized then that not only does it even the skin tone, but it also has excellent UV protection capabilities! 3. I've tried various sunscreen containers, but I find the pump container to be the most hygienic and easy to control the amount. You can dispense small amounts with each pump, and the opening isn't too large, so it doesn't dispense too much at once. The texture is neither too runny nor too thick, making it just right for use. It took a little time for the product to fully absorb and adhere to the skin. At first, I wondered if it was going to sit on top of my skin, but I realized it was just the time needed for the color to change and absorb (this might be because I was used to a more liquid product before). While the staying power wasn't bad, there was slight pilling around the nose area, so it might be good to check and touch up this part occasionally. I have combination dehydrated skin, so my cheeks are dry while my nose gets oily throughout the day, which might have exaggerated this effect. Other than that, I didn't find any disappointing aspects while using this product. I found that applying moisturizer before the sunscreen made it adhere better to the skin! When applying around the nose area, try using a rolling motion for a smoother application without pilling. This seems to be the most crucial tip. If you want more coverage, using a concealer would be a good idea! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinMay 9, 2025
- It absorbs well and smoothly, without causing any eye irritation. - Initially, it's a white cream, but as you spread it over your skin, it adapts to your complexion. - Unlike foundation or regular sunscreen, it gives a slightly white, soft-focus effect (but not too pale). - While not as long-lasting as foundation or other products, its staying power was decent. (Even better with powder!) - There was no noticeable scent. - I loved the pretty packaging design! - It offers very little coverage. - If you don't control the amount well, it doesn't apply nicely. Using a coin-sized amount like regular sunscreen can lead to clumping or a whitish cast, and its rich texture can cause pilling if not applied carefully. - Even though I have dry skin, the rich texture feels a bit heavy. There's enough of an oily sheen that you definitely need to set it with powder. Instead of applying it all at once, it works better to squeeze out tiny amounts, spread them evenly, and then repeat on areas that need more coverage. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 9, 2025
Texture and Application: A fluid cream texture that combines the polymer-like slip of hybrid sunscreens with the oily glide of mineral sunscreens. Spreads smoothly without any stiffness and applies evenly. Feels moisturizing without being sticky or leaving residue. Feel on Skin: As it emphasizes a 'glowing' complexion, it's not the type of sunscreen that dries matte for oily or combination dehydrated skin. Instead, it leaves a dewy finish with some moisture. Likely suitable for normal to dry skin types as it doesn't cause flaking, accentuate dead skin cells, or settle into fine lines. For oily or combination dehydrated skin, you might need powder or oil-absorbing sheets for the forehead and T-zone. White Cast and Coverage: Initially, there's a noticeable white cast, probably due to the mineral sunscreen ingredients. However, with proper blending and patting, it quickly settles into a natural light beige tone. Unlike many tone-up or foundation-free sunscreens on the market that either have a pink cast or provide heavy coverage like foundation, this one offers sheer coverage similar to a skin tint. (Though when applied in the proper amount for sun protection, it feels a bit thicker than a skin tint) Perfect as a sunscreen for those who want to even out their skin tone without wearing makeup. Advantages: - Spreads easily and smoothly without stiffness - Moisturizing feel (suitable for normal to dry skin, prevents flaking and accentuation of dead skin cells) - No stickiness or residue - Sheer coverage ideal for a foundation-free look - Contains brightening and antioxidant ingredients like niacinamide, glutathione, and vitamin C (Especially great that it includes vitamin C, which complements sunscreen through a different mechanism to protect against sun damage and aging. I used to apply vitamin C separately before mineral sunscreen, but it was inconvenient and easy to forget. It's fantastic that many products now include it) Disadvantages: - May be too rich for oily or combination dehydrated skin types Pro Tip: When applying your skincare, mix a high-concentration niacinamide/zinc product with a hydrating serum (increase the ratio for oilier areas), then apply a hybrid or chemical sunscreen with higher oil content. This helps reduce oiliness. That's how I've been using it! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinMay 9, 2025
- Application: It applies very smoothly and feels incredibly moisturizing. The absorbs well is quite good. I think it feels even better because the brightening moisturizers I've used before didn't have great application. - Longevity: It lasts about half a day? Since it's a sunscreen, when used alone, I needed to reapply in the afternoon. It's a bit rich, so it tends to leave marks if you touch your face. - Brightening effect: It naturally brightens the complexion by about half a shade. It doesn't dramatically lighten your skin. - Blemishes and irritation: I'm prone to occasional blemishes, but using this didn't cause any additional breakouts or irritation. - Overall: I recommend this to those who want a natural, slight brightening effect. It's on the richer side, so those with oily skin will definitely need to use powder. It does transfer and leave marks a bit. The packaging could be better. The puff dispenses very little product. You have to press it several times to get enough out. The puff and lid are quite bulky. I have combination dehydrated skin prone to deep dryness, so when I applied this alone, I felt it was a bit rich and had to set it with powder. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 8, 2025
1. Lightweight application: I keep this product in the bathroom to apply right after washing my face. At first, I thought it spread so thinly because of the steamy bathroom and my moisturized skin post-cleansing, but it's just naturally lightweight. Compared to the thick CC creams that were popular before, wow... the technology has really advanced. It's incredibly easy and light to apply, which is perfect for me as a mom with a 6-month-old baby. 2. Tone correction: You know how your face gets flushed and blemishes look extra red right after washing? This product actually covers that pretty well. It's more about evening out the skin tone with a beige hue rather than dramatically brightening. 3. Despite its thin application, it's surprisingly hydrating. 1. Limitations of the capsule formula: When applying to areas with eyebrows or peach fuzz, if the capsules don't burst (revealing the beige color), it can leave a whitish, messy residue. It's not too bad though - just needs a bit of extra care when applying. 2. Staying power: Because it applies so thinly and the makeup effect is more of a bonus, it breaks down quickly. As I have oily skin, it became particularly shiny and patchy on my nose bridge and forehead. (See the after-use photo) 3. Color tone: This product starts as a white cream with color capsules, then turns into a slightly orange-tinted beige as the capsules burst, and finally settles into a shade about half a tone lighter as the white and warm beige mix. On my warm-toned skin, it ended up looking a bit too yellow, which was disappointing. I wonder if it would have looked too white if it was a slightly more pinkish beige? 4. If your skincare base is rich, the color fades quickly, but if it's lighter, it can feel a bit tight around the mouth. Hmm... it's a bit tricky. 1. For the initial application, I recommend starting on smooth areas without facial hair like the center of your forehead or cheeks. Gently massage the product there to activate the color, then spread it out. Apply any remaining product to areas like eyebrows or temples last. 2. I think this might work better for those with dry skin rather than oily, using a moderate amount of skincare underneath. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinMay 8, 2025
The texture initially felt like a slightly thin emulsion, but it applied incredibly smoothly with excellent adherence. I was surprised by how moisturizing it was without the typical stiffness of mineral sunscreens, and it had a subtle brightening effect that made my skin look naturally radiant. It absorbs quickly, finishing without any heaviness or stuffiness. The slightly powdery finish makes it perfect for those who dislike oily sunscreens. The scent is nearly undetectable, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin. There's minimal white cast, and it spreads evenly without pilling or patchiness. It provides a natural brightening effect that's subtle enough to use for complexion correction. I didn't experience any blemishes or irritation, and even after long hours outdoors, it maintained its effectiveness without breaking down or becoming oily. It seems better suited for combination dehydrated skin, oily, or combination skin types like mine rather than dry skin. Those with dry skin might feel some deep dryness, so make sure to layer hydrating products underneath. Overall, it's great for daily use, especially on days when you need a natural brightening effect! Given its brightening function, it can pill or become patchy if applied on unexfoliated skin. I noticed it lifted slightly on dry areas, making it a bit challenging to use on days when dead skin cells were more noticeable. While the powdery finish is great for oily or combination skin, it might cause some deep dryness for those with dry skin types. I found that layering a hydrating cream in my skincare routine before applying this sunscreen resulted in a much prettier, seamless application without any pilling. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinMay 8, 2025
It's as hydrating as a moisturizer and absorbs well. After 10 hours, it felt a bit dry, but it seems to hold up well for up to 10 hours. It brightens the complexion without leaving a white cast and lightly covers pores and blemishes, which I'm satisfied with. The pump-type packaging makes it easy to dispense, and it doesn't leave any greasy residue on your hands when applying, which is great. It's easy to wash off with hand sanitizer, and even just foam cleansing removes it well. I experienced eye irritation all day. Even when I applied just a tiny bit around my eyes with the residue on my hands, it was uncomfortable due to the stinging sensation. Other than that, everything else was good. For those with dry skin, it might be helpful to apply a thin layer on your face like you would with a cream, then add another thin layer and pat it in with a damp puff or one spritzed with mist. This technique helps the hydration last longer.
