This is the holy grail sunscreen for sunscreen nomads and a permanent fixture in my routine... (though sadly discontinued now). I've tried many sunscreens free of harmful ingredients and pore-clogging components, but strangely, tiny bumps or whiteheads would still appear on my skin. This sunscreen, however, is the only one that doesn't cause any blemishes, even when applied generously. It doesn't feel sticky or suffocating at all! There's a slight white cast, but as someone who only uses sunscreen for skin makeup, it's just the right amount. However, it doesn't provide coverage, so concealer is a must for dark circles. The amazing thing is that my skin texture improved just by switching to this sunscreen. I can't attribute it to other factors because I've actually been sleeping poorly and not eating well lately, but I was surprised to find my skin feeling smoother after cleansing! Wow! Although it claims to be waterproof on the back, it doesn't seem to be at all... After some time, it slides off and breaks down due to facial oils and mask humidity. Still, it doesn't clog pores and doesn't feel suffocating, so it's good for reapplication. This is truly a holy grail sunscreen, why on earth is it discontinued? - pp*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 29, 2020
1. It's wonderfully hydrating 2. It doesn't pill on the skin 3. It doesn't irritate the eyes The only downside is that the area around the lid tends to get a bit messy - un**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 24, 2020
Moisturizing with excellent absorption, and while there's no white cast, it brightens the complexion after application. It blends well with basic makeup products like foundation. In my 15 years of using sunscreens, I've never found one that doesn't cause blemishes, and this product is no exception. Although not severe, it still leads to some skin issues. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 3, 2020
It's so gentle that I've been using it for a long time. Highly recommended! I wouldn't recommend this to those who dislike their face looking too pale. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 23, 2020
Since I only used it once, I couldn't really feel any major benefits. However, I did appreciate that there was no white cast. After applying it and going out, my face started itching within a couple of hours. At first, I thought it was just because of the heat, but when I looked in the mirror, I saw that my entire face was covered in hives. It was awful! I do have super sensitive skin with sunscreen allergies, though I'm not sure exactly which ingredient caused this reaction. I bought this Avène product because it's a pharmacy brand, but I'm so upset that my face broke out in hives the very day I used it. If you have sensitive skin, please make sure to patch test before using! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 20, 2020
It felt refreshingly cool, and unlike other sunscreens, it didn't seem to have that sticky feeling. When I first applied it, there was a slight tingling sensation. However, after using it for a day or two, that feeling disappeared. You might experience a bit of tingling at first, but the more you use it, that sensation goes away. I really liked that it wasn't sticky at all. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 16, 2020
It absorbs well and leaves a soft, matte finish. I loved that there was no white cast visible. For sensitive skin with redness, it might feel a bit drying. While it applies smoothly, it's so lightweight that it can even feel a bit too dry. - 96*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 13, 2020
I tried a sample I received a while ago and loved it so much that I decided to purchase the full size! First of all, the SPF protection is excellent, and it applies incredibly smoothly. It also gives a slight brightening effect, making it perfect for casual outings - this sunscreen alone is all you need! I personally didn't find any downsides, but for those with very oily skin, it might be best to test it out before purchasing. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 6, 2020
I've been using this for 3 bottles now, ever since an Olive Young staff member recommended it. I haven't felt the need to switch. It's practically odorless and comes in a squeeze tube, which seems hygienic. It brightens my skin just enough, and I haven't experienced any blemishes after use, so I'm satisfied. The amount control is also decent. They say it gives you a glow after application...? As someone with dry skin, I liked that aspect, but it doesn't really eliminate deep dryness or increase oiliness. In fact, I still feel some tightness... The glow looks more like oil, so oil blotting sheets are a must. It seems to make my makeup pill and doesn't do anything special for dead skin cells either... There seem to be plenty of sunscreens out there to replace this one... - li****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinFeb 18, 2020
The gentle ingredients are a definite plus. And of course, it offers great sun protection too. It's quite rich in oils. Your face gets really shiny, and if you apply makeup over it, you'll experience pilling.
