Perfect match for warm undertones! I've already repurchased this 3-4 times because it suits me so well, even though I usually can't pull off bright coral-pinks. It's a must-have for those with deep, muted undertones. If you're warm-toned but struggle with even a hint of pink, this Modest shade could be your holy grail. It's like the last frontier of coral - making me think, 'Wow, I can actually wear coral?!' The shade is more of a coral-brown or coral-beige. Sadly, it's been discontinued, which is heartbreaking because this unique color is so hard to find. Being a matte formula, it can make your lips feel slightly shrunken. After eating, only the lip line remains, and it tends to emphasize dry patches. However, the Fluid Velvet line in Modest doesn't give the same color payoff I'm looking for. I put up with these issues because the color is absolutely worth it. The reason I'm reviewing a discontinued lip product... I know there are people looking for something similar to Modest. I went to Olive Young yesterday and compared everything with my Modest. Even shades that looked similar turned out to be brighter, pinker, or more orange when swatched. Finding a dupe is like catching a unicorn! But try 3CE's Walk and Talk. While not an exact match, it fulfills everything you'd expect from Modest - that perfect brightness, warmth, and vibe. It even feels more comfortable on the lips. For warm-toned folks with 23 skin who found Modest unflattering, try using a lighter base (like shade 22) to brighten your complexion first. It'll likely suit you much better then! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 19, 2020
A fantastic MLBB item for warm skin tones! I bought it after seeing Espoir at Olive Young and wow, it's so pretty... The color might look questionable at first, but once applied, it's gorgeous! It's a subtle coral-orange with a hint of beige - perfect for daily wear. Highly recommended, especially for fall, winter, and early spring! I haven't found a lip product that perfectly matches this shade, but other Espoir lip colors come close. It's the ultimate effortlessly chic item! While it's not a stiff formula and has a nice creamy texture, it dries matte after application. It can emphasize dead skin cells when your lips are dry, which is unfortunate since it's meant to be a fall/winter daily item, and those seasons are particularly dry. The gradation of color is beautiful though, so that makes up for it. Oh, and my cool-toned friends didn't like it when they tried mine - they said it made them look sallow. When you want to glam it up a bit, mix this shade with the (Red Brick) color from the same line - it's absolutely stunning! Since the Modest shade isn't too vibrant and has a muted tone with not-so-great staying power, you can use Modest as a base and dab Red Brick on the inner part of your lips, or just blend them together for a full lip look. Both ways look beautiful! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedFeb 28, 2020
I bought it because the color looked pretty, and I was pleasantly surprised. It has a lovely herbal scent, adheres well to the skin, and has good staying power. It's quite matte, so when I want a more dewy look, I apply oil. However, this can cause some pilling. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedJan 15, 2020
The color payoff is incredible and it applies smoothly. It has great staying power and gives your face a lovely, radiant look with its beautiful shade. The only downside is that it transfers quite easily! You need to be careful when eating or drinking tea, as the vibrant color can leave marks. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedDec 28, 2019
A holy grail product I've been using for multiple tubes, alongside NARS Dolce Vita... The color might not suit everyone, so it's essential to test it first If you're an autumn warm tone and love MLBB shades, you'll probably want to have one of these - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 30, 2019
The color payoff and staying power of this product were absolutely fantastic. For someone with a naturally bright complexion like me, it had a slight tendency to make my skin appear a bit darker. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 1, 2019
The color is absolutely gorgeous!! This is a must-have base item for warm-toned beauties. It's truly amazing when you apply this as a first layer and then top it with MAC Chili or BBIA Last Velvet Lip Tint in Bossy Boss. When applied alone, it can make you look a bit sickly. Also, the absorption wasn't as good as I expected, unfortunately. Gently pat it onto your lips - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedOct 6, 2019
There's an irreplaceable, uniquely enigmatic feel to Modiste. It looks matte, yet surprisingly moisturizing. Everything's great, except the lipstick occasionally falls out... Really, apart from this, everything else is perfect! - ek*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedSep 28, 2019
The color is absolutely gorgeous... It's the epitome of autumn warm tone. It's the perfect warm-toned fall lipstick with an orange+beige blend! It's not too matte and applies smoothly. I also love how the Espoir lipstick snaps right into place with its magnetic closure! Since it's a color that particularly suits autumn, I hesitate to use it in other seasons... - ca******Dry SkinRecommendedSep 10, 2019
The color is truly beautiful. It has a slight white tint which might be hit or miss for some, but I find it lovely. The yogurt effect is way too intense, and it's extremely drying. Even exfoliating doesn't seem to help with the dead skin cells...
