I feel reassured knowing it's free from chemical ingredients.
ConsThe price is on the higher side, so expectations are naturally high. At first, there's no white cast, but as you use it, you might notice a slight pilling effect.

I used to be an Anessa fanatic, but Anessa has a more powdery finish - it's like you're barely wearing anything. This product is the complete opposite! It has a moisturizing texture like a hydrating cream, and it might feel a bit heavy, but that was perfect for my very dry skin. I felt I needed to keep my skincare routine light, so I just applied a slightly sticky essence and then this product directly. There was no pilling, and it gave a slight white cast, which I actually liked!
ConsIt was more expensive than I expected, even pricier than Anessa. I think it might pill if you apply it over a full skincare routine including creams. It's a bit thick? It feels even more so because I'm used to Anessa's watery texture.
TipIt would be great to use this as the final step in a light skincare routine, doubling as a moisturizer! Finish by gently patting it into your skin.

I'm writing this review after using it for exactly a week. I'm a sunscreen enthusiast who won't step outside without it, and I usually go for brands like Paula's Choice, Dr. Jart+, and Belif after checking their ingredients. So, I was thrilled to be chosen to test this sunscreen! Let me quickly list the pros: 1. No eye irritation 2. Applies matte but feels quite hydrating once absorbed 3. High SPF despite having skin-friendly ingredients 4. The slight white cast gives a subtle brightening effect (though I'm naturally fair-skinned, so it might be more noticeable on others)
ConsI dislike dryness, so I usually finish my skincare routine with Physiogel mixed with rosehip oil before makeup. This sunscreen doesn't apply as thinly as I'm used to, so when I tried my usual routine - skincare, sunscreen, then makeup - everything pilled and separated. I had to remove it all and start over. However, when I simplified my routine by skipping the oil and reducing the amount of cream, applying this sunscreen at the moisturizer step worked much better - it absorbed well and lasted longer. It's a bit disappointing that I have to adjust my routine for this sunscreen. Also, I checked the price on the Hwahae app, and it seems a bit expensive for what it offers.
TipKeep your skincare routine simple and apply this like a moisturizer! Since it's on the thicker side, try patting it in with a puff instead of your hands for better absorption.

It has a moderate white cast and strikes a good balance - not too oily, not too dry. The texture is slightly sticky but adheres well to the face. There's no gritty feeling, which is nice. While it doesn't blow me away, it's certainly not bad either.
ConsI usually apply about two finger-lengths of sunscreen with a white cast, even if it's not the full recommended amount. But with this one, I was shocked when I looked in the mirror outside after applying makeup. It seemed to have a slight white cast or patchiness. You really need to be careful with the amount and make sure it absorbs well. If you apply too much, it can also lead to pilling.

As a hybrid, it combines the tone-up effect of mineral sunscreens with the moisturizing feel of chemical ones. The texture is lighter and more hydrating than typical mineral sunscreens, feeling like you're applying a cream. The ingredients, despite being a hybrid, seem pretty good too!
ConsHowever, due to the mineral components, applying the recommended amount can lead to pilling and a white cast. The white cast does subside a bit over time though. There's also a slight stickiness and oily feel characteristic of mineral sunscreens, which might make it challenging to use in sweaty summer weather. The price point might be a bit high for students to use regularly.
TipI recommend applying it in multiple thin layers rather than all at once. Using a wedge sponge to pat it in for better absorption is also a great tip!

It didn't cause any blemishes. 2. It blocks UVB rays. I've seen many sunscreens that block UVA, but this is the first one I've encountered that also protects against UVB. 3. Moderate brightening effect It doesn't make you look unnaturally white, but rather gives a natural brightening effect that's slightly lighter than your original complexion.
Cons1. The price A shocking 42,000 won for 50ml... I don't think I could buy it with my own money. 2. It's a bit rich. When I apply a lot and put makeup on top, it tends to cause pilling or separation. Also, applying too much feels heavy on the skin.

After application, there's no stickiness or shine. It also has a slight white cast (not excessive) that brightens the skin. It seems to work as a makeup base before foundation. As long as you don't overdo the amount, it doesn't cause pilling and allows for smooth makeup application, which I appreciated. In my case, I didn't experience any blemishes.
ConsWhen using this sunscreen, there's about a 1/3 chance that the oil layer separates. (I'm not sure if it's clearly visible, but I've attached a photo.) Also, if you don't apply it quickly, it tends to pill and clump slightly. After makeup, I noticed that my face became oily faster than usual. Those with oily skin might want to consider this before use.
TipRather than simply applying, it seems to absorb better and prevent makeup pilling if you gently pat it into the skin.

There's hardly any white cast, and it applies moisturizing. It's somewhat similar to the Dr. Jart sunscreen with the red lettering. While I haven't tried many sunscreens, as someone with oily skin who absolutely hates greasiness, this ranks among the top non-greasy ones I've used. Above all, while I don't usually pay much attention to ingredients in sunscreens since they're necessary for UV protection, I appreciate that this one is free from chemical preservatives.
ConsI'm not sure if I should say it pills or sits on top of the skin, but it kind of rises up like white powder later on. And the price... At 42,000 won, it doesn't provide enough satisfaction to justify the cost. With such a high price tag, it feels like even the tiniest flaw is unacceptable. After using it for another month, I have to update my review. It pills and sits on the skin so much that I can't use it. I thought it might be incompatible with my skincare routine, so I tried applying it on bare skin, but it still sits on top.

Please note that my review compares this to my regular sunscreen, so individual experiences may vary. What I liked about it (compared to my usual sunscreen) is that it absorbs slightly better and leaves less of a white cast.
ConsMy skincare routine is toner-aloe-sunscreen-foundation. I only switched my usual sunscreen with the IPPO sunscreen. I applied it as I always do, gently rubbing and patting it in. Afterwards, I noticed my hands were white as if I'd touched clay, and on my face, it was pilling and flaking in patches like white powder. I had to wipe it all off with toner-soaked cotton pads. Also, it's too rich for my oily skin. Worst of all, I developed clusters of tiny blemishes around my mouth, left temple, and forehead. While I can't definitively blame the sunscreen, it's the only product I changed in my routine. On my second try, I ignored the blemishes and mixed it 2:1 with my regular sunscreen. My usual sunscreen alone leaves a severe white cast, but mixing it with IPPO added some richness and blended more naturally. However, it's still not suitable for oily skin. Additionally, I wish the fragrance was a bit milder. It's not an unpleasant scent, but it was too strong for me.
TipThis might work well for those with dry skin, but I don't think people with oily skin could use it, especially in summer. If your current sunscreen is matte but leaves a strong white cast, try mixing in a bit of IPPO for better application. I've stopped using it due to the blemishes, but I'll try it again once my skin clears up. If I have any updates to my review then, I'll share them.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsI was chosen as a Hwahae Tester and got to try out this sunscreen. When I'm shopping for sunscreen, the most important factors for me are: How well it absorbs and how it works with makeup And that it doesn't sting my eyes. No matter how good the ingredients are, I'm not a fan of sunscreens that make me squint and tear up... And I also dislike ones that leave a white cast and don't play well with makeup. That's why I usually use the green-capped Essence Sun Milk from Mi#. As for this one, At least it doesn't sting my eyes.
ConsFirst off, it's greasy. Very greasy. It's super shiny. Definitely not recommended for oily skin. As for how it works with makeup... I'm not so sure. It leaves a white cast, so you can't apply makeup over it. While it's a sunscreen with good ingredients that doesn't irritate the eyes, You really need to be careful with how much you apply, And it seems better suited for dry skin than oily. Another downside is that it pills. I was shocked to see it roll off in little bits like noodles. I don't even use an extensive skincare routine (Just toner and moisturizer) And I usually apply sunscreen generously, But this seems to be a sunscreen you can't apply liberally.
TipApply sparingly Only suitable for dry skin
