A gentle, slightly acidic cleansing foam. It's super convenient for daily use and reasonably priced! It doesn't produce a lot of lather. The cleansing effectiveness isn't very strong, so double cleansing might be necessary. Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly before cleansing! Create a lather in your hands and gently cleanse your face! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 4, 2022
It's incredibly gentle, helps calm blemishes, and doesn't leave my face feeling tight at all. While it doesn't produce a ton of lather, its gel texture is nice if that's what you prefer. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 18, 2021
Krave Beauty's signature Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser is a gel-type cleanser with a subtle matcha scent! As a matcha lover, I find using this cleanser feels like a skin healing session. It has a moisturizing and bouncy gel texture! While not sticky, it has a unique gel consistency that stretches like mucus. It's such a novel cleanser that I found it quite innovative. Being a low pH cleanser, it's gentle and doesn't stress the skin! It only removes necessary impurities, so don't expect a squeaky clean finish. Instead, it leaves a moisturizing protective feel, seemingly preserving the skin barrier. I think it's perfect for light cleansing or bare-faced days. The tube packaging allows for hygienic use. The consistency isn't too runny, making it easy to control the amount dispensed. I appreciated being able to use just the right amount for cleansing. Even after rinsing, the skin maintains its moisture, seemingly alleviating dryness. A definite plus is the peace of mind from using a cleanser with trustworthy ingredients! The texture is quite smooth, so it doesn't create much foam when mixed with water. Those who prefer a foamy cleanse might find this cleanser disappointing. There's so little foam that using a bubble maker might be beneficial... Trying to create foam by hand could potentially lead to irritation due to the lack of lather. While I experienced no irritation from this cleanser, the near impossibility of a gentle, foamy cleanse is its biggest drawback. The cleanser rinses off well with water, but the moisturizing finish it leaves behind can be confusing - it's hard to tell if it's truly rinsed off completely. This unique feel might be a make-or-break factor for many users... It's also a bit disappointing that Krave Beauty products aren't widely available in offline stores, limiting purchases mostly to online channels. If you're after a foamy cleanse, I'd recommend using a bubble maker with this product! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinAug 6, 2020
It's definitely different! I have oily skin, so I used to cleanse really thoroughly. I bought this because it said it would keep my skin hydrated, and I love how gentle it is when cleansing. Even after double cleansing, my skin still feels moisturized. This is going to be my holy grail cleanser! The scent is amazing (totally like matcha), the texture is close to a gel, the hydration is fantastic, and its cleansing effectiveness is top-notch. The downside is that it doesn't foam up well. With cleansing, you kind of expect lots of bubbles to feel like you've really cleaned your face. While it's gentle, it lacks that foamy experience. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 16, 2020
I've always been a fan of gel cleansers, and I started using the Matcha Hemp cleanser after receiving it as a gift. It worked well even when my skin was super sensitive during seasonal changes or my menstrual cycle. The scent had a healthy vibe to it. I've already repurchased this product. Since it's a non-foaming gel cleanser, the user experience might be hit or miss for some people. However, I don't have any complaints about the product itself. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 25, 2020
♥️The Hwahae Testers Review♥️ (I'm so sorry for the delay! I'll make up for it with a thorough review!) I used to use the 'Real Barrier Cream Cleansing Foam'. My skin is super sensitive, so even the Hwahae #1 ranked 'Make P:rem Safe Me Cleansing Foam' didn't work for me... It caused unexplained blemishes, so I couldn't use anything except Real Barrier. Because of my sensitive skin, I wasn't thrilled about winning a cleansing foam... I was worried about damaging my skin just to write a review, but I'm so happy to have found my new holy grail cleanser❤️ I've been using only this cleansing foam for about two weeks since receiving it, and I've had no reactions at all!! I'm overjoyed! The ingredients are truly gentle and seem to suit me well. The texture and scent are slightly reminiscent of dish soap. It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean right after washing. However, I didn't feel overly dry afterwards. For me, it left just the right balance of oil and moisture💙 It's not a type that produces a lot of foam. Still, its cleansing effectiveness was good! The lack of abundant foam definitely doesn't mean it doesn't clean well. Some people said the cleansing power wasn't good, but I found it sufficient. I never felt like it didn't clean thoroughly. If it cleaned any more powerfully, I think it might disrupt the oil and moisture balance. For me, it was just right in every aspect. I'll probably buy it again with my own money after I finish the one you sent. There really wasn't anything I disliked... If I had to think of something, maybe the dish soap scent...? But even that wasn't bothersome, so it didn't bother me at all. In fact, I found it much better than those artificial fragrances (like rose or lemon scents)!! It doesn't produce abundant foam, but that doesn't mean it doesn't foam at all. I actually prefer this type. When there's too much foam, it goes beyond my face area and gets into my hair and ears, making it hard to rinse off. This one produces just the right amount. After two weeks, I started using my original Real Barrier Cream Cleansing Foam in the evening and this cleansing foam in the morning! It works perfectly for me. If you have extremely sensitive skin like me and even Hwahae's top-ranked products don't work for you, give this one a try! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 16, 2020
The Hwahae Testers' review Skin condition: Visible pores on nose and cheeks with some sebum Acne-prone skin with oily yet dehydrated complexion 1. Noticeably reduced sebum production 2. No new blemishes appeared Due to its mild acidity, it doesn't lather well. After using it for a while, sebum reappears on the nose, unfortunately. It's a gentle, mildly acidic product that seems suitable even for babies. It's a decent all-around cleanser. I'll continue using it morning and evening, followed by toner, and will write another review later. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinApr 14, 2020
Scent: It's practically fragrance-free, which I love, and there's no lingering scent after rinsing. As someone with fragrance-sensitive skin, I always felt uneasy when cleansers left a scent behind after washing. Hydration: While I can't say it's incredibly hydrating, I definitely noticed less deep dryness after cleansing compared to other products. Packaging: When it arrived, I was impressed by the eco-friendly paper cushioning and tape. It made me feel good about using a product from a company that clearly cares about the environment. Lather: I'm used to cleansers that produce a rich lather, so it took some getting used to this product's less foamy texture. This cleanser works best for removing light makeup, like when you've just applied sunscreen before heading out. I've been using it daily, especially now that we're all masked up when going outside. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinApr 13, 2020
- The delivery was delayed for some reason. I contacted Hwahae but didn't receive a response, and the package arrived a few days late. I'm leaving this review after 2 weeks of use for The Hwahae Testers. 💓 Skin type: Combination dry, oily T-zone + Sensitive (late 20s) Naturally smooth skin, but with enlarged pores on the nose 💓 Recommended for: Dry + Sensitive skin 💓 Experience: 1. Gentle and lightweight It doesn't cause tightness and feels light. As someone who always uses cleansing oil, this product is a must-have. Perfect for the second cleanse. Ideal for my morning routine with an oily T-zone. It has that gentle, low pH feel. It seems to match my skin's pH perfectly, causing almost no irritation. Even with prolonged, gentle massaging, there was minimal irritation (I often experience redness after cleansing due to my sensitive skin. I can't use cotton pads with cleansing water or toner as it stings). 2. Hydrating (moisture) It's moisturizing even after cleansing(?) In the first week, I thought it was just gentle, really gentle, but by the second week, it felt like I was back in high school, experiencing that morning cleanse hydration. 3. Sophisticated packaging I usually prefer natural products, but while the product quality is often good, the packaging can be disappointing... But! This Krave Beauty product has such luxurious packaging... 💕 I love that it looks beautiful on my vanity & in my bathroom. 4. Overall quality After using it, I learned it's made by YouTuber Liah Yoo's company. It's clear they have a deep understanding of skincare, and based on my experience, I trust they can create great products for problematic skin. I'd love to try their other lines besides cleansers. 💓 Star rating: ⛥⛥⛥⛥⛥ Highly recommended! This is a product I want to spread the word about. 1. Slightly lacking in cleansing power, not much foam As someone who always does a double cleanse, it's not an issue for me, and as a person with sensitive skin, I actually prefer it this way. However, those who rely on a single cleanse might find the cleansing power a bit lacking. It produces less foam and feels less satisfying compared to a rich foam cleanser that rinses off quickly. 2. Taste and scent(??) I don't intentionally taste it, but while washing, it tastes somewhat bitter... ㅋㅋㅋ It has a slightly bitter taste. But I tell myself that good things for the body are often bitter, so I'm still using it well. The scent is a bit like seaweed? Or konjac? It has a similar smell and feels slippery like seaweed. At first, I thought it was a bit unusual, but I got used to it over time. As I usually prefer natural products like Si**ool, it wasn't a major issue. These are just minor points if I had to find something to critique^^ Use a cleansing oil, cleansing wipe, or cleansing water for a light first cleanse, then follow up with Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser for your second cleanse! It's also perfect as a morning cleanser! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinApr 13, 2020
The standout feature of this product is its gentleness. It's focused solely on basic cleansing. I was hesitant to use harsh, squeaky-clean products, but plain water wasn't enough. Luckily, I got to try this as part of The Hwahae Testers. After use, there's no dryness or tightness, just a nice moisturized finish. It seems perfectly mild for our skin. With the growing importance of maintaining skin pH, more people are seeking slightly acidic products - I highly recommend this one for that purpose. Its cleansing effectiveness is definitely milder! Don't expect it to work like a typical foam cleanser. As the product description states, it's not one of those harsh cleansers that make a squeaky sound while over-stripping your skin barrier. It's really focused on gentle, basic cleansing. The lack of abundant foam might make you wonder if it's cleaning properly, but your skin will feel clean to the touch. Also, it has a green tea scent, which might be hit or miss for those sensitive to fragrances.
