As someone with sensitive, blemish-prone skin who considers a skincare product successful if it doesn't cause a reaction, this is one of the gentlest cleansers I've tried. It's been my top choice for both second cleansing and morning washes. If you have dry skin, it could easily be your main cleanser, and for combination to oily skin types, it's perfect as a mild cleansing option. The biggest drawback is definitely the accessibility. It's frustrating that you can only buy it online, especially since I dislike stockpiling products. Being a low pH gel cleanser, it naturally isn't the most powerful in terms of cleansing effectiveness. It might not suit those who enjoy a rich, foamy cleansing experience. Also, if you're a consumer who associates luxury with heavily fragranced mainstream cleansers, this might not be for you. - Ideal for morning cleansing or as a sole cleanser on rest days - Recommended when water alone feels insufficient - Since it doesn't produce much foam, use your judgment for the right amount - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 18, 2021
Krave Beauty's signature Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser is a gel-type cleanser with a subtle matcha scent! As a matcha lover, I find using this cleanser feels like a skin healing session. It has a moisturizing and bouncy gel texture! While not sticky, it has a unique gel consistency that stretches like mucus. It's such a novel cleanser that I found it quite innovative. Being a low pH cleanser, it's gentle and doesn't stress the skin! It only removes necessary impurities, so don't expect a squeaky clean finish. Instead, it leaves a moisturizing protective feel, seemingly preserving the skin barrier. I think it's perfect for light cleansing or bare-faced days. The tube packaging allows for hygienic use. The consistency isn't too runny, making it easy to control the amount dispensed. I appreciated being able to use just the right amount for cleansing. Even after rinsing, the skin maintains its moisture, seemingly alleviating dryness. A definite plus is the peace of mind from using a cleanser with trustworthy ingredients! The texture is quite smooth, so it doesn't create much foam when mixed with water. Those who prefer a foamy cleanse might find this cleanser disappointing. There's so little foam that using a bubble maker might be beneficial... Trying to create foam by hand could potentially lead to irritation due to the lack of lather. While I experienced no irritation from this cleanser, the near impossibility of a gentle, foamy cleanse is its biggest drawback. The cleanser rinses off well with water, but the moisturizing finish it leaves behind can be confusing - it's hard to tell if it's truly rinsed off completely. This unique feel might be a make-or-break factor for many users... It's also a bit disappointing that Krave Beauty products aren't widely available in offline stores, limiting purchases mostly to online channels. If you're after a foamy cleanse, I'd recommend using a bubble maker with this product! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 25, 2020
This gentle jelly-textured cleanser lathers up surprisingly well. As someone who doesn't typically wear heavy makeup, I find that when I double cleanse with this and a makeup removing oil, it effectively cleanses my skin without any irritation. When you first use the product, there's an unfamiliar scent that I've never encountered in cosmetics before. However, it's not overpowering. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 9, 2020
I have very dry skin. Even though I don't wear makeup and only apply sunscreen, I use this for cleansing. Despite my dry skin, I didn't feel particularly parched, and the gel-type cleanser was easy to use. The scent is subtle, reminiscent of green tea, which is pleasant and not overpowering! It's great for double cleansing stubborn sunscreen without causing irritation! It's especially nice for morning cleansing. I used to find washing my face tedious and bothersome, but since switching to this cleanser, I might be exaggerating a bit, but I actually look forward to cleansing my face! The accessibility is a bit disappointing. It's a shame that it can only be purchased from the Krave Beauty website. I wish it was available in drugstores like Olive Young or Lohb's. Other than that, I didn't find any particular drawbacks. It doesn't lather much, so using a foam net to create foam might be beneficial! I use it by massaging it directly onto my face without foam, but for those who prefer lather, that method should work well. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 14, 2020
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! I received this product for testing, but I promise to write an honest review. I have dry skin and wear makeup daily. I used this product after removing my eye and lip makeup with a separate remover. Positive points: 1. Moisturizing feel: True to the product's identity, it was really gentle and hydrating! I'm very satisfied with this aspect. I was previously using a low pH cleansing foam from B.lab, but this one feels even more moisturizing. 2. Cleansing effectiveness: It had just the right amount of cleansing power! I was actually surprised by how well it cleansed. To be honest, I thought it might be weak since it's a low pH cleanser, but I didn't feel like any makeup was left behind - it was perfect. 3. Texture: This is probably the product's most unique feature. The texture is unusual - when you first squeeze it out, it doesn't look like it would foam at all, but once you start massaging it in, you'll notice it actually lathers quite well! There weren't really any downsides to speak of. Some reviews mentioned an unpleasant scent, but I didn't find it bothersome at all and never even thought about it. I think they really nailed the product concept! First of all, the brand itself feels trustworthy, and the product has a clear identity that it lives up to perfectly. While cleansers are often chosen carelessly or without much investment since they're just washed off, if I need to buy a cleanser in the future, I'm 100% going to repurchase this one. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinApr 13, 2020
I don't need the cleansing power to be too strong, as long as it can effectively remove the sunscreen I use. This cleanser was able to do that, without leaving my skin feeling squeaky clean. ~Sunscreen products used for 11 days~ Mineral sunscreen (AHC Pure Natural Mega Sun Cushion SPF50+/PA++++) Chemical sunscreen (Huxley Relief Sun Moisurizer SPF50+/PA++++) 🌑Moisturizing <It doesn't strip away too much oil, so my skin feels less dry after cleansing.> Compared to other foaming cleansers, this one definitely leaves my skin feeling less dry. However, this isn't an extremely noticeable characteristic of the product, so it may not be a major factor. But still, for a foaming cleanser, it's relatively moisturizing... ...Maybe with consistent long-term use, it could help improve skin dryness? Since it doesn't strip away as much oil, right? 11 days isn't enough to know for sure. But thinking about how tightly cleansing foam can make my skin feel, the point where my skin starts to feel tight and dry after cleansing seems to come later with this product. -Cleansing Power <It doesn't have the strong cleansing power to remove waterproof or heavily pigmented products.> From my experience, this product has a moderate cleansing power that helps maintain the skin's natural oil and moisture balance. It likely won't be able to fully remove waterproof or near-waterproof products. If you're considering it as a second cleanse, that could work, but it's probably not sufficient as a standalone cleanser. -Price <Cleansers are products we use a significant amount of daily, so the price can be a burden if it's expensive.> This product is 120ml and the retail price is 16,000 won... Well, the price is relative, but I personally find it burdensome. I tend to use cleansers generously, and the volume seems a bit low for the price. 🔴Blackhead/Whitehead Management <It doesn't seem very effective for managing blackheads and whiteheads.> I always consider this aspect when choosing a cleanser, as I'm concerned about blackheads. After 11 days of use, I closely observed my nose and chin area, but this product didn't seem to improve those skin concerns. That's not to say it made the situation worse, but those looking to target blackheads and whiteheads may want to consider other options. Especially since it's not exactly an inexpensive product... Adding a bit of water while using the cleanser, similar to emulsifying an oil cleanser, can make the application more gentle and smooth. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 13, 2020
I've always wanted to try this cleansing product, and I finally got the chance as a Hwahae Tester! - Cleansing effectiveness As typical for a low pH cleanser, it's not strong enough to remove all makeup completely. That's why this cleanser is best suited as a second-step cleanser to remove any residue and balance your skin's pH. It's also great as a morning foam cleanser. - User experience While it doesn't foam up much due to its low pH, it doesn't hinder the cleansing process at all. In fact, the foam feels incredibly moisturizing. This makes it gentle when massaging your face. After rinsing, there's no tightness at all. Your face feels very comfortable and refreshed! - Ingredients The ingredients are generally mild, with green tea water listed first instead of purified water. It contains ingredients like matcha, almond oil, oat extract, and panthenol, which help soothe and hydrate the skin. This made using it even more enjoyable :) Even with my sensitive, blemish-prone skin, I used it without any major issues! There's no added fragrance, but you can slightly smell the matcha ingredient. It didn't bother me much, but those sensitive to scents might not like it. *Matcha: Green tea that maintains a powdered form during processing (This information is printed on the product package) If you're sensitive to citric acid, make sure to check the ingredients before purchasing! You don't need to use a large amount just because it doesn't foam much. Use the same amount as you would with your regular cleansing foam! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 12, 2020
I have sensitive, redness-prone skin that's also acne-prone, with blemishes popping up during 'that time of the month'. I was on the hunt for a gentle cleanser with good ingredients that could effectively remove impurities while being kind to my skin. When I saw this product featured by The Hwahae Testers, I crossed my fingers hoping to be selected - and lo and behold, I got the chance to try it out! Let me share my experience using it twice daily from April 3rd to 11th. With spring wreaking havoc on my skin, I made sure to cleanse extra thoroughly. Pros: 1. Incredibly gentle! From the moment you apply it, you can feel how mild it is. It cleanses refreshingly without any pulling sensation. Rather than that squeaky-clean feeling, it leaves your skin feeling as soft as after using a wash-off mask. Highly recommended for those with super sensitive skin like mine! 2. The scent is divine! It has a cool, refreshing matcha aroma that's subtle and not overpowering. There's a hint of fresh greens, but it's as natural and mild as can be. For the first time in ages, I felt like I was purifying both my skin and my mind while cleansing. 3. The post-cleanse feeling is amazing! Those with sensitive, acne-prone skin will understand - using the wrong cleanser can lead to redness, visible sebum, and an overall worsened complexion. This foam cleanser, however, leaves your skin feeling incredible! It's like you've done something truly beneficial for your skin. Of all the cleansers I've used, this one leaves my skin feeling the most calm and balanced. Best of all, there's no tightness, just hydration, and a refreshing sensation with absolutely no residue left behind. It's like giving stressed-out skin a comforting pat. Perfect for spring, summer, and fall when air quality is poor and the sun is harsh. 4. Reduced sebum production! Even in this short period, it seems to have really benefited my skin. I can noticeably see a reduction in sebum. While it's not a dramatic change, considering the short usage time, it's quite impressive! I'd strongly recommend this to those with oily skin, especially during this season. It was really hard to find any negatives, but my sister, who used it with me, mentioned that the scent might be hit-or-miss for some people. Since everyone's preferences differ, if you're not a fan of even slightly herbal scents, you might want to skip this one. I couldn't tell if it reduced pore size. The testing period was too short to notice any changes in that regard (plus, I've had large pores for quite some time). - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 11, 2020
Here's a review from The Hwahae Testers! ✨ Texture: It's a gel, but it's the first time I've used a cleansing product with a jam-like consistency, which was intriguing. ✨ Scent: It's nearly fragrance-free! You'd have to put your nose really close to detect any scent. ✨ Gentleness (Kind ingredients): Above all, I loved that it didn't cause any blemishes. Right after washing, my skin felt smooth, and after patting dry with a towel, it felt soft and supple! ✨ Eco-conscious brand: The packaging gave me the impression it was environmentally friendly, and I appreciated that it's a brand that considers nature. 🔥 Lather: You need to squeeze out quite a bit to get a good amount of foam. 🔥 Price: While I got to use it for free as part of The Hwahae Testers, I found out it costs around 16,000 won... which seems a bit pricey for the amount you get. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinApr 11, 2020
I had high expectations for this product, and after using it, I found it very similar to the Round A'round cleanser. However, this cleanser has a unique scent. It's labeled as green tea fragrance, but it's neither fresh nor artificial. As I'm not particularly sensitive to scents, I didn't find it unpleasant. The texture is like a thin jam, which makes it easy to apply, and I appreciated that it's made with gentle ingredients. It's also easy to work into a foam. While its cleansing power isn't exceptional, it seems to be a mild, low pH cleanser suitable for second cleansing or morning routines. I usually experience deep dryness after washing, but there was none with this. However, I didn't notice much difference in effectiveness compared to my regular cleanser. The packaging seems well-thought-out, with a clean design, and the eco-friendly shipping increased my trust in the Krave Beauty brand. This was a review from The Hwahae Testers! While it's not particularly expensive, you can find similar products at much lower prices, so I don't plan to purchase it again. I did experience a couple of tiny blemishes, but they subsided quickly. There was noticeable redness during cleansing, but it wasn't painful or long-lasting. I'm not sure why this reaction occurred. Don't forget that a little goes a long way - you can cover your entire face with just a small amount! The product will likely last longer than you expect!
