ConsIt's on the pricier side, and it seems they don't offer sales.
TipWhen using as a second cleanser, you can make it last longer by using just a small amount to balance your skin's oil and moisture while soothing it.

Even though it doesn't lather much, a small amount - about the size of a fingernail - was enough to cleanse thoroughly. It seemed economical, which was a plus. When I applied it to my face and gently massaged, there were no strange smells or irritation. The cleansing effectiveness wasn't bad either, comparable to a regular cleansing foam. Despite being slightly acidic, it left no sticky residue when rinsed off with water. My skin felt fresh immediately after use.
ConsPerhaps because it rinsed off so cleanly without any residue, a sudden wave of dryness hit me. My skin felt so parched right after rinsing that I needed to apply moisturizer immediately. Compared to my previous cleanser for very dry skin, Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Gel Moussant, which left my skin feeling hydrated even if I took my time after cleansing, this matcha cleanser left my skin completely dry. As a result, I had to apply moisturizer faster than usual and use more than my regular amount. Even then, I felt tightness in my skin for hours. This might work better for oily skin types rather than dry. Matcha and green tea ingredients generally help control oil, so they're more suited for oily skin. I somewhat expected it wouldn't suit me when I bought it, so I wasn't too surprised.

I have extremely dry skin (except in summer, I'm always using oils!), and this product is definitely gentler and more hydrating than others. As someone with dry skin, when I use cleansing foams, my skin feels tight almost immediately after washing and drying. That's why I usually opt for low pH cleansers. Among the low pH cleansers I've tried, this one was the most hydrating. It feels okay to slowly apply toner or other products after cleansing. Also, these days I'm only using sunscreen for slight tone correction due to wearing masks. This cleanser is sufficient to remove that level of makeup! After cleansing with this product and using an exfoliating toner, nothing came off on the cotton pad.
ConsThere's nothing particularly bad to mention. If you're new to cleansers, you might find the scent a bit disappointing, but all low pH cleansers have this kind of fragrance, and they say fragrances aren't good for the skin anyway!
TipFor those with oily skin, this product might not feel thorough enough for nighttime cleansing as it doesn't give that squeaky clean feeling. However, it could be perfect for a gentle morning cleanse!

Recommended for those looking for a fragrance-free, low pH cleanser. However, not recommended for those who rely on a single cleanser without double cleansing, as its cleansing effectiveness isn't strong enough for heavy makeup. • Perfect eco-friendly packaging ★★★★★ From the box to the tape, padding, and paper - everything was perfectly eco-friendly. As someone who prefers environmentally conscious products, I was very satisfied. While most brands use eco-friendly packaging these days, the attention to detail here made me think the product itself must be just as meticulously crafted. • Texture and scent ★★★★☆ The texture feels just like jam. It's a transparent gel with a yellow-greenish tint, dotted with what looks like matcha powder. It's quite thick, so you need to squeeze the tube with some force to get it out. The scent is completely fragrance-free. I thought it might smell like matcha, but to my nose, it's practically unscented. Looking at the ingredients list, there are no added fragrances. Personally, I don't place much importance on scent. In fact, I dislike overly artificial fragrances. • User experience ★★★★☆ Compared to other low pH cleansers I've used, this one leaves my skin feeling more squeaky clean. Comparing it to the Round A'round cleanser, which left me feeling a bit slippery and under-cleansed, this product gives a more thorough clean feeling. It starts off gentle and finishes with a refreshing sensation. Personally, I prefer this invigorating finish over an overly slippery feel. In terms of dryness, it leaves my skin feeling more hydrated than regular cleansers. I didn't feel any tightness immediately after patting my face dry, but it's not intensely moisturizing either. Some might even find it a bit drying due to the squeaky clean finish.
Cons• Cleansing effectiveness ★★☆☆☆ I've attached photos of the cleansing effectiveness test. The cleansing power is insufficient to remove makeup with just this cleanser alone. It doesn't matter for me since I use it as part of my double cleansing routine, but for those who rely on a single cleanser, the cleansing power might be too weak. I tried removing long-lasting tint, brush pen eyeliner, and pencil eyeliner by rubbing for 1 minute, but the tint and pencil eyeliner barely budged...
TipI use it with a konjac sponge, and it creates incredibly rich, bouncy foam. I recommend using it with a foam net or konjac sponge.

That's why this cleanser is best suited as a second-step cleanser to remove any residue and balance your skin's pH. It's also great as a morning foam cleanser. - User experience While it doesn't foam up much due to its low pH, it doesn't hinder the cleansing process at all. In fact, the foam feels incredibly moisturizing. This makes it gentle when massaging your face. After rinsing, there's no tightness at all. Your face feels very comfortable and refreshed! - Ingredients The ingredients are generally mild, with green tea water listed first instead of purified water. It contains ingredients like matcha, almond oil, oat extract, and panthenol, which help soothe and hydrate the skin. This made using it even more enjoyable :) Even with my sensitive, blemish-prone skin, I used it without any major issues!
ConsThere's no added fragrance, but you can slightly smell the matcha ingredient. It didn't bother me much, but those sensitive to scents might not like it. *Matcha: Green tea that maintains a powdered form during processing (This information is printed on the product package) If you're sensitive to citric acid, make sure to check the ingredients before purchasing!
TipYou don't need to use a large amount just because it doesn't foam much. Use the same amount as you would with your regular cleansing foam!

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThis is my review after winning The Hwahae Testers selection. My skin is sensitive and combination, with occasional small blemishes on my forehead and chin. The rest of my face is extremely dry. 1. Gentle ingredients Being a low pH product, I rarely felt the stinging or tingling sensation that I sometimes experience with other cleansing foams. While it may vary for others, I used it for over a week without any blemishes. 2. Hydration Unlike most cleansing foams that leave your face feeling dry immediately after use, this product maintains a pleasant level of hydration for quite a while after rinsing. This made my nighttime skincare routine much more comfortable. I consider this its strongest feature. 3. Ingredients I was pleased to find that it's not just named 'Matcha Hemp Hydrating' for show - it actually contains a significant amount of matcha. The matcha scent is quite strong, which I personally enjoyed, though opinions may vary.
Cons1. Texture As it's a gel-type product, it can feel a bit thick when applying. I'm not sure if it's due to the low pH or the gel formula, but it doesn't lather well, which made it feel a bit heavy when massaging it on my face. 2. Cleansing effectiveness Considering it's a gentle, low pH product, I expected this, but it does leave you feeling like your skin isn't completely clean. I found I needed to cleanse twice with this foam to completely remove my makeup. 3. Slight irritation While not a frequent occurrence, I occasionally felt a stinging sensation when using this cleansing foam on extremely dry areas around my mouth. Although I've been advised by dermatologists to avoid using cleansing foam on very dry areas, I thought this gentle formula would be okay. However, I experienced mild tingling about 6 out of 10 times. 4. Value for money While the ingredients are good, it's not the most affordable option when compared to other cleansing foams. Being a gel-type and low pH formula, I found myself using almost twice the amount I would with other cleansing foams, so it runs out quickly. This aspect is a bit disappointing.
TipI used this product with a sonic cleansing device. It seemed to improve the cleansing effectiveness and lathering issues I experienced, making the overall experience more satisfying. My most effective routine was to first remove eye and lip makeup with a cleansing oil, then use the sonic cleanser for the first cleanse, followed by a second, lighter cleanse with just a small amount of the product. This method seemed to remove makeup most thoroughly.

Kind of like a paste? It doesn't lather much when you rub it. This seems to be characteristic of low pH products! ✅Cleansing effectiveness: The cleansing power isn't particularly strong. That's why I only used this product as my first cleanse on days when I didn't wear makeup. Since it doesn't foam up much, you need to massage it in thoroughly to cleanse properly. ✅Scent: The fragrance might be divisive, but I'm a fan. It has a subtle, wholesome matcha scent. I find myself sniffing it every time I squeeze out the cleanser! ✅Hydration: I think the most positive aspect of this product was its hydrating effect. My skin didn't feel tight after cleansing. You know how alkaline cleansers often leave your skin feeling stretched? Since this product has a low pH, it seemed to maintain moisture while feeling smooth. ✅Gentleness: It's extremely mild, so I think it would be great for those with sensitive skin or acne-prone skin. I have acne-prone skin myself, and after switching from an alkaline cleansing foam to this one, I've noticed significantly fewer breakouts.
ConsBecause it doesn't lather well, you end up massaging for a long time. The extended cleansing time was a bit inconvenient.
TipUse this on days when you've worn light makeup or no makeup at all, rather than on days with heavy makeup.

Lather: 5/5 I didn't expect much foam since it's low pH, but it creates a rich, creamy lather that feels soft and smooth. Effectiveness: 4/5 While I'm not sure if it helps with blemishes, my face looks brighter, smoother, and feels softer. Verdict: This cleanser has become a staple in my skincare routine.
ConsThe price is a bit steep... It's more expensive than I expected. It seems to run out quickly too. I haven't noticed any significant skin improvements.

Believing that my skin barrier issues were causing visible capillaries, I've been exploring low pH cleansers to improve my skin barrier. This product lathers up incredibly well compared to other low pH cleansers! After washing, my skin felt refreshingly clean!
ConsUnfortunately, I didn't see significant improvements in my skin barrier. Also, perhaps due to its low pH, I noticed that oil seemed to resurface on my face more quickly after cleansing compared to other cleansers.

It was my first time trying a low pH cleanser. The color is more like steeped green tea rather than matcha, and the scent is a bit earthy. However, the smell dissipates quickly, so it wasn't too bothersome. When using it, instead of feeling squeaky clean, it felt like it gently washed away impurities.
ConsThe scent might be off-putting to some, and those looking for a deep cleansing effectiveness might find it doesn't meet their expectations.
