Skin type: Oily, prone to whiteheads & blackheads, more milia than inflammatory acne I discovered this brand while watching YouTube videos when my skin was in terrible condition. I bought it along with the AHA toner Kale-lalu-yAHA from the same brand, and this review is based on using up the entire bottle. Although I used it back in January 2019, I'm finally writing this review after using the Hwahae app for a while, thinking I should contribute my thoughts too. ‼️Purchase date: December 30, 2018‼️ ‼️Actual usage period: From January 2019‼️ First off, I liked that it didn't leave my skin feeling overly squeaky clean. I was using Perfect Whip at the time, and people said that feeling too squeaky clean wasn't good, so I remember being satisfied with this aspect. The scent was a mild, inoffensive green tea fragrance. While I wouldn't say it's great, it's not unpleasant either. The packaging is pretty. I love its simplicity - it's right up my alley. #Hydration: While many people say it's moisturizing and hydrating, for some reason, my face felt tight after washing with this cleanser. I have oily skin and never experienced tightness with any product except Perfect Whip. Usually, I can go about 5 minutes after washing without applying anything and not feel tight, but strangely, with this one, my skin felt very tight if I didn't apply toner immediately after cleansing. #Texture: It's way too slippery... Half of it ends up wasted because it's so slick. The moment you try to lather it in your hands, instead of foaming up, half of it escapes your palms in clumps. As a result, you either end up using too much or have to carefully cup your hands while lathering to keep it from slipping away. #Price: It wasn't cheap to begin with, but considering half of it goes to waste... #Cleansing power: Being low pH, it's understandably not very strong in terms of cleansing. This might also be partly my fault. Despite having oily skin, I used this cleanser both morning and night (as a second cleanser in the evening). As a result, it seems like it wasn't removing all the impurities, and I noticed an increase in milia and whiteheads. I continued using it with some doubts, but by the time I had almost finished the bottle, I had so many milia that I stopped using it with about 2% left. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 23, 2020
The product felt great until I rinsed it off. Even though it doesn't lather much, a small amount - about the size of a fingernail - was enough to cleanse thoroughly. It seemed economical, which was a plus. When I applied it to my face and gently massaged, there were no strange smells or irritation. The cleansing effectiveness wasn't bad either, comparable to a regular cleansing foam. Despite being slightly acidic, it left no sticky residue when rinsed off with water. My skin felt fresh immediately after use. Perhaps because it rinsed off so cleanly without any residue, a sudden wave of dryness hit me. My skin felt so parched right after rinsing that I needed to apply moisturizer immediately. Compared to my previous cleanser for very dry skin, Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Gel Moussant, which left my skin feeling hydrated even if I took my time after cleansing, this matcha cleanser left my skin completely dry. As a result, I had to apply moisturizer faster than usual and use more than my regular amount. Even then, I felt tightness in my skin for hours. This might work better for oily skin types rather than dry. Matcha and green tea ingredients generally help control oil, so they're more suited for oily skin. I somewhat expected it wouldn't suit me when I bought it, so I wasn't too surprised. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 10, 2020
※ The Hwahae Testers Review ※ My skin is oily with severe deep dryness. 1. Cleansing - It removes even dark lip tint stains well! 2. Value for money - Incredible beast-sized volume!! Wow! 3. Blemishes - I didn't experience any particular breakouts!! 4. Texture - It's between a jelly and a gel!! Pretty nice!! 5. Application - It spreads easily over a wide area! 1. Deep dryness - This is somewhat unavoidable with cleansers.. 2. Amount control - Surprisingly necessary.. 3. Rinsing - When rinsing off the cleanser with water, it didn't wash off easily.. After cleansing, make sure to use a skincare product that addresses deep dryness!
