It's great that there's no tightness, and it even seems to remove dead skin cells. My complexion looks brighter too!
ConsThe only downside is that the amount is too small. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

Please use it a lot so it doesn't get discontinued. It's gentle on the skin - I have sensitive skin, and it's not irritating at all. The moisturizing effect is great too. After cleansing, my skin doesn't feel dry and tight, but soft and hydrated. Those who prefer a squeaky clean finish might have mixed feelings, but I loved it. As for exfoliation, this powder-type cleanser seems to remove dead skin cells effectively!
ConsThe disappointing thing is that there are rumors about it being discontinued. Please, please don't discontinue it! Other than that, there's not really anything to complain about, but it doesn't lather as much as other cleansers. So those who prefer a lot of foam should keep that in mind.

I appreciated that it wasn't an artificial fragrance. + It has excellent cleansing effectiveness. It washes off cleanly and gently, with minimal deep dryness after cleansing. + I'm not sure if it's just me, but it feels like it cleanses mildly. I can see brown specks among the white powder - are those barley grains? They seem to have an exfoliating effect on dead skin cells.
Cons- With this powder type, controlling the amount used is crucial. Too little won't create enough lather, while too much will use up the product quickly. I found this challenging. - After adding water drops to create foam, if there's too much water, the lather runs off, and if there's too little, the powder clumps up. You really need to find the right balance when using it.
Tip* Rather than using too little powder and not getting enough foam, it's better to use about a 500 won coin-sized amount, shaking it out 3-4 times. Add just enough water to slightly cover the powder. This is the key to creating a good lather.

The packaging is sleek and clean, with a minimalist design that inspires confidence. I appreciate the straightforward 'Refreshing Enzyme Cleanser' description, rather than exaggerated claims about solving all skin issues. While the container isn't filled to the brim, it contains the stated amount. I used an oil cleanser first, then tried this powder. It doesn't foam as much as typical cleansers, but I liked that - it felt more natural and gentle. The scent is delightful, reminiscent of toasted grains. It's not a fancy fragrance, but a comforting, wholesome aroma. The texture when mixed with water is similar to using flour for cleaning, with a pleasant, earthy feel.
ConsThe natural exfoliant isn't too harsh. When mixed with water, some granules remain, providing a gentle scrub. It's not intense enough to be considered a dedicated scrubbing product. The best part came after rinsing - unlike foam cleansers that leave my skin feeling stripped and desert-dry, this left my face feeling moisturized. That's a huge plus. Though I received this as part of The Hwahae Testers program, I plan to keep using it regularly.
TipI tested its cleansing power on its own. Since I don't wear heavy makeup, I used an eyebrow pencil. It removed it well, but as someone who believes in thorough cleansing, I'd recommend this as a second step for those who wear more makeup. In conclusion: Highly recommended for natural skincare enthusiasts who prefer light makeup. It works hard to keep your complexion balanced without stripping the skin's moisture.

Low irritation: This product truly embodies the advantage of enzyme cleansers being gentle on the skin. I was initially concerned that the enzyme granules might be harsh, but they dissolve well in water, creating a fine and soft foam. Both during and after use, there's minimal dryness and tightness, leaving the skin feeling comfortable and gently cleansed. Hydration: The product offers a satisfying user experience, feeling both moisturizing and refreshingly clean. Even without immediately applying the next skincare step after cleansing, my skin doesn't feel particularly dry, and the hydration lasts for a long time. Ingredients: With its low-irritation, slightly acidic formula free from fragrances, dyes, and 20 cautionary ingredients, this product boasts an impressively skin-friendly composition. I'm satisfied with both its performance and its ingredient list. Product design: The product itself gives an impression of simplicity, and the packaging design is clean and comfortable. (Despite being a powder-type enzyme cleanser susceptible to moisture, the cap closes tightly and securely, preventing any humidity build-up) I used this comfortably throughout The Hwahae Testers period without any blemishes. Thanks to this, my expectations for enzyme cleansers have increased. The foreign brand enzyme cleanser I used previously was quite irritating and caused significant tightness, so I had taken a break from using it. Now I'd like to try other enzyme cleansers to compare.
ConsThe cleansing power might be slightly insufficient for removing heavy makeup. However, it's rare to rely solely on a low pH product for a single cleanse of full makeup, so I think this product is perfectly satisfactory for daily cleansing or as a second cleanser.
TipAmong the enzyme granules, there are occasional colored particles that don't completely dissolve. However, these didn't cause any irritation, and it felt like they were helping to clean pores and remove fine dust when massaged into the skin. Gently massage around the pores with appropriate pressure to help remove fine dust.

After cleansing, there's no tightness, and my skin feels soft and smooth. I mainly used it as an evening double cleanse, but it could work well as a morning cleanser for those with combination to oily skin. Like many top-ranked products on Hwahae these days, it has great ingredients, so you can use it without worry. The small opening makes it easy to control the amount dispensed. Unlike some other powder enzyme products with large openings that make it difficult to control the amount, this one has a small opening that keeps water out, preventing clumping. The packaging is sleek, and the size is perfect for shaking out the right amount with one hand.
ConsThere's no seal on the product. The lack of a seal on a new product made me a bit uneasy. While I received this as part of The Hwahae Testers program, so it's unlikely to be an issue, I was slightly concerned about the possibility of receiving a used or returned product. Compared to other enzyme products, the particles are larger. The larger particles make it challenging to create a lather with just your hands. You can see a lot of powder remaining while lathering, which can be irritating to the skin. It's definitely recommended to use a foam net or bubble maker.
TipAs mentioned above, using a foam net or bubble maker to create a rich lather will allow you to use this product without irritation!

It's going to be perfect for taking on trips. The scent is incredibly mild with a fresh, powdery fragrance that I adore. I've been stressed lately because of constant small bumps on my skin, and while they haven't disappeared completely, I haven't had any new blemishes since I started using this! I noticed the difference after just a couple of days. I'd definitely buy this with my own money once I run out. Best of all, my skin doesn't feel dry after use - that's my favorite part!
ConsIt's not exactly difficult to control the amount, but I'm still figuring out the right quantity to use. That's the only issue I've noticed so far.
TipI have combination dehydrated skin and was really stressed about small bumps, but after using this consistently, about 80% of the texture on my skin has disappeared! It's amazing! I'll definitely be repurchasing this.

It feels reassuring that I'm protecting my skin every day. Great cleansing power: Since it's good at removing fine dust, it naturally performs well. I use sunscreen and compact foundation, and this cleanser removes them effectively. Despite its strong cleansing power, my face feels less tight after washing. I have combination dehydrated skin, so in winter I drink lots of water, use a humidifier, and apply nourishing and hydrating creams. Even then, I usually experience some tightness, but with this cleanser, it's noticeably reduced compared to others I've tried. Generous amount: While experiences may vary, I think this will last me a long time. Being a powder, if you use less water it can be quite thick, but adding a bit more creates a nice lather. Using a foam maker produces an even richer foam. Being a powder, I imagine it has a longer shelf life too!
ConsExfoliation: I thought that being a powder cleanser, it would be effective for exfoliation, but it wasn't as scrubby as I expected. When I touch my skin while applying toner, it actually feels less smooth than with my regular cleansing foam. Timing: This seems more suited for evening cleansing rather than morning. I tried it in the morning, but some particles got into my eyes. It's a bit inconvenient to use in the morning as you need to mix the powder well. Trying not to spill it, I ended up with clumps!

I was very curious about enzyme cleansers as it was my first time trying one. I'm grateful for the opportunity to use this product and I'll share my thorough review after using it diligently. Skin type: Thin and dry skin, but no blemishes Usage: I typically only use water to cleanse in the morning. I used Black Barley every other day, mainly as a second cleanser in the evening. I also used it the morning after days with high air pollution. Product texture: White powder At first, I was concerned the powder formula might be too harsh, but when properly dissolved, it provided both cleansing and gentle exfoliation. After washing, my skin felt smooth and supple without any tightness, which was very satisfying. The subtle scent and the soft lather when fully dissolved were gentle and mild. Even my teenage son enjoyed using it, saying it was excellent for removing excess oil. While the powdered enzyme formula was a bit unfamiliar at first, I quickly got used to adjusting the amount and lather size to suit my needs after a few uses. The quantity seemed small at first glance, but it actually lasts longer than expected. My 7th-grade son also used it and liked it even more than I did. He says he's 100% going to repurchase when we run out! I suppose this type of cleanser works well for his age group with increased oil production. It gives a clean feeling that's different from the typical squeaky clean - more like a soft yet refreshing sensation? After cleansing, the skin becomes noticeably smoother. However, as I'm older with extremely dry skin, I need to apply toner immediately after patting dry with a towel. Overall, the user experience exceeded my expectations.
ConsIf there's one downside, it's that being a powder type, it takes some time to dissolve and the amount of lather can be a bit disappointing. However, using a foam net can create rich, abundant lather as shown in the picture.
TipPro tip: Use your hands for a scrub-like effect. For rich lather, use a foam net.

Skin Sensitivity: As someone with combination dehydrated and super sensitive skin, I experienced no discomfort like facial redness after cleansing or blemishes from incompatibility. This cleanser seems incredibly gentle. Usually, my face dries out quickly after washing, requiring immediate toner application, but with this, I didn't feel that intense dryness. 2. Cleansing Effectiveness: Despite its gentleness, it's surprisingly effective. It easily removes my usual makeup (foundation, eyeshadow, lipstick) without the need for double cleansing. When I use an exfoliating toner afterward, there's no residue left behind. 3. Scent: It's practically unscented. If I had to describe it, it's a subtle powder-like scent, similar to Physiogel - that hard-to-describe fragrance. It's definitely not overwhelming or polarizing. The product is advertised as free from artificial colors and fragrances, making it ideal for those with scent sensitivities. 4. Quantity: Being a powder type that dissolves in water, I initially thought the amount might be insufficient. However, you need very little for each wash, so it should last quite a while. After a week of use, I've barely made a dent in it!
ConsCons: 1. Initial Impression: When I first received it, despite being labeled as 50g, the container was only about 5/6 full. I wondered if it was new or used. The first photo shows the unused product. This isn't really a con, but if I had to nitpick, this would be it. I can't find any real drawbacks regarding the cleanser's ingredients or effectiveness. 2. Powder Management: Being a powder cleanser, it's challenging to keep water out of the bottle. Moisture naturally accumulates around the opening, and managing this can be a bit of a hassle.
Tip1. It's easier to use if you dispense the cleanser into your hand first, then add lukewarm water. This prevents clumping that can occur if you don't mix it properly. 2. On days when your skin texture feels rough, try using cold water with the cleanser. This slows down the powder's dissolution, allowing for a gentle scrubbing action. On regular days, lukewarm water works well. Don't worry about irritation from the scrubbing - the cleanser is so gentle that it won't cause redness.
