ConsIt doesn't lather well when rubbed with hands alone. It's better to use a foaming net.

Please use it a lot so it doesn't get discontinued. It's gentle on the skin - I have sensitive skin, and it's not irritating at all. The moisturizing effect is great too. After cleansing, my skin doesn't feel dry and tight, but soft and hydrated. Those who prefer a squeaky clean finish might have mixed feelings, but I loved it. As for exfoliation, this powder-type cleanser seems to remove dead skin cells effectively!
ConsThe disappointing thing is that there are rumors about it being discontinued. Please, please don't discontinue it! Other than that, there's not really anything to complain about, but it doesn't lather as much as other cleansers. So those who prefer a lot of foam should keep that in mind.

After washing, there's no residue left behind, and my skin feels brighter and clearer. It seems like the perfect cleanser to use these days when everyone's talking about fine dust pollution.
ConsI'm not sure if enzyme cleansers typically produce little foam, but this one doesn't lather much. Since it's a powder, I end up using too much at once, which feels wasteful.
TipIf you're concerned about dead skin cells or pores, try gently rolling it over those areas. You might notice a slight smoothing of uneven texture.

I liked that I could cleanse gently in the morning without stripping too much moisture from my skin. It's great for removing fine dust, impurities, and dead skin cells all at once. For those who find skincare routines bothersome, it might be fine to use in the evening too.
ConsThe powder isn't as fine as expected, and it takes a bit of rubbing to dissolve and create bubbles. The lather isn't as rich as I thought it would be. Even people without blemishes might find their skin becoming sensitive due to undissolved powder particles. I wouldn't recommend it for those with acne-prone skin. If you still want to try it, use it occasionally or for quick morning cleansing. For the curious, I suggest testing it out first.

I appreciated that it wasn't an artificial fragrance. + It has excellent cleansing effectiveness. It washes off cleanly and gently, with minimal deep dryness after cleansing. + I'm not sure if it's just me, but it feels like it cleanses mildly. I can see brown specks among the white powder - are those barley grains? They seem to have an exfoliating effect on dead skin cells.
Cons- With this powder type, controlling the amount used is crucial. Too little won't create enough lather, while too much will use up the product quickly. I found this challenging. - After adding water drops to create foam, if there's too much water, the lather runs off, and if there's too little, the powder clumps up. You really need to find the right balance when using it.
Tip* Rather than using too little powder and not getting enough foam, it's better to use about a 500 won coin-sized amount, shaking it out 3-4 times. Add just enough water to slightly cover the powder. This is the key to creating a good lather.

As someone with super sensitive skin and combination dehydrated skin, my face gets really oily in the morning. However, using cleansing foams or soap makes my skin too dry. This product is great not only for cleansing after being out on days with high air pollution, but it's also perfect for a gentle morning cleanse. On days with heavy air pollution, double cleansing with this removes that dusty feeling from my eyelashes. I have thick eyelashes, so when I'm in dusty areas, I often feel like there's dust right in front of my eyes due to particles getting trapped in my lashes. For those who wear heavy makeup, I recommend removing it first with a cleansing cream or water before using this. The foam isn't as rich as you might expect, but because it's gentle and non-irritating, I find myself using it more frequently.
ConsThere wasn't really anything disappointing about it. The only thing might be that the foam isn't very rich? Other than that, I can't think of anything. Due to the product's powdery nature, it seems the foam doesn't lather up as much.
TipSince it works by the powder dissolving to create foam, you'll get a richer lather with warm water rather than cold. If you want to use it as a scrub, don't let all the powder turn into foam. Instead, gently massage it while some powder remains for a bit of exfoliation to remove dead skin cells. I recommend double cleansing on days with high air pollution. You'll feel even more refreshed.

I've been using this product for just under a week, and I'd like to share my thoughts. Initially, I was surprised by how small the product seemed. However, I quickly realized that a little goes a long way - it produces plenty of foam with just a small amount, so it should last quite a while. The powder formula is unique, but be careful not to use too much at once, as it can clump if you try to create too much foam at a time. As someone with super sensitive skin, I made sure to dissolve the powder thoroughly before cleansing. After use, my skin felt smooth without any dryness. When toning afterwards, there was hardly any residue left, indicating effective cleansing. I didn't experience any blemishes after use, which was a huge plus. The ingredients are quite good, which was my favorite aspect of the product - I felt confident using it. It's gentle enough for morning cleansing without irritation. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for the Tonymoly brand, but I'm currently using and enjoying their Easy Touch eyebrow product due to its good ingredients. This enzyme cleanser has also impressed me with its quality ingredients and pleasant user experience, which has definitely improved my perception of the Tonymoly brand!
ConsThere weren't any particular downsides that I can think of. If I had to mention something, it would be that while the product claims to have a micro-dust cleansing function, I couldn't personally verify this. Also, if you try to create foam with too much powder at once, it can clump instead of foaming properly.
TipI found that using a moderate amount of powder to create foam, gently massaging it onto the skin, and then adding a bit more water resulted in an even richer lather!

Ingredients Enzyme cleansers typically come in powder form. This product is well-formulated with gentle ingredients. Upon closer inspection of the powder in my hand, I noticed yellow granules. These are exfoliating particles, which may irritate those with super sensitive skin, so caution is advised. 2. Cleansing Effectiveness Enzyme cleansers may not be the best for removing makeup, making them more suitable as a second cleanser. When mixing the powder with water in your palm, it can be challenging to create a lather as the powder tends to slip through your fingers. I tried using a foam net and was satisfied with the results. The granules don't dissolve easily and remain intact. Gently massage it onto your skin for a thorough cleanse without irritation! 3. Post-Cleanse Feel The moisturizing finish after use is impressive. I've heard that leaving some moisture rather than a squeaky-clean feeling is better for the skin, so I pay attention to my cleansing routine. To check how long the hydration lasts, I waited 10 minutes after cleansing without applying toner. I noticed some white residue around my mouth area. While it doesn't feel tight and remains moisturized, immediate hydration is still necessary. 4. Packaging The clean packaging makes it easy to use. Be mindful of storing it in the bathroom, as humidity can affect the powder. It seems great for travel. However, carrying the entire container might be inconvenient. Consider portioning the powder into small, single-use packets for a lightweight cleansing option on-the-go. 5. Overall Impression A well-made enzyme powder cleanser with gentle ingredients. Personally, I wish it didn't have the exfoliating granules. Even though they're small and supposedly dissolve, I could still feel them while massaging, which made me hesitant to use it for morning cleansing. The price is reasonable when on sale. Keep in mind that the container isn't filled to the brim, so it may seem to deplete quickly.
ConsHaving never tried other enzyme cleansers, I can't compare, but satisfaction during use is lower compared to regular cleansing foams. Many might find it inconvenient to create foam before using the cleanser. This is a characteristic of enzyme cleansers, but using a bubble maker or foam net can help. Being a powder, storage can be tricky. If the lid doesn't close properly, there's a risk of spilling or moisture contamination, potentially ruining an entire container of cleanser in an instant. You need to be careful with storage.

I was lucky enough to try Tony Moly's new Black Barley cleanser from their latest line, and I'd like to share my personal experience and thoughts. First off, black barley is said to be effective for skin purification and care. Clinical studies show it's 99.8% effective in removing fine dust, impurities, and dead skin cells. Ingredients: - The main ingredient is black barley extract, which helps cleanse the skin and remove fine dust. - It's designed to minimize skin irritation and even has conditioning properties. User experience: - It comes as a fine powder with visible black barley grains. When washing, these grains dissolve naturally without causing any pain or irritation. - As someone with sensitive skin, I found it very satisfying how gentle and non-irritating it was. - To use, place a coin-sized amount in your palm, add a little water to create a lather, and gently massage it onto your face. Be careful with the amount of water though, as too much can prevent it from foaming properly. - It seems to be fragrance-free to me, although some people mention a grain-like scent. - After use, my skin felt clean but still hydrated, with no tightness. Instead, it felt plump and moisturized, which I loved. It's truly gentle, leaving my skin feeling soft without any stinging. The added scrub effect is a bonus - I'm very satisfied!
ConsThe quantity seems a bit small... Compared to the container size, there seems to be less product than expected. Also, if you don't get the water ratio right, it doesn't lather well and can be difficult to cleanse properly. So be mindful of that (I made the mistake of using too much water at first and had to start over).
TipI have extremely sensitive skin that reacts easily to certain foods or high levels of fine dust, often resulting in small bumps or blemishes. Recently, my skincare routine has been: 1. Tony Moly cleanser 2. Dokdo toner 3. Medix Tea Tree Care Solution (3 times a week) 4. Aroma-tica Aloe Vera Gel 5. Scinic The Simple Daily Emulsion This routine has really helped calm my skin and improve its elasticity. Let's all take good care of our skin health!

If you're not careful and try to lather it up under running water, the powder disappears in an instant. 1. Exfoliating effect: At first, I tried to lather it in my wet hands and cleanse, but there wasn't much foam. However, when you apply the powder directly to your damp face, you get an exfoliating effect! Wondering how effective it could be, I used it for a week with minimal moisturizing, and surprisingly, I didn't experience any flaking. It seems to work more as a preventative measure against dead skin cells rather than intense exfoliation. 2. Instantly smooth skin after cleansing: Initially, the foam doesn't feel very rich, making you wonder if it's cleansing properly. But my cheeks felt so silky that I kept rinsing, thinking there was residue - turns out that's just how smooth it leaves your skin. It's like that silky feeling you get on your hair after rinsing out conditioner, but on your face! 3. Update after a month of use: I thought it didn't lather well, but if you use more product, it foams up plenty! I was being too conservative with the amount. If you really go for it, you get a deep, creamy lather - not quite like shaving cream, but definitely sudsy like soap! It removes makeup (except eyes/lips) without double cleansing. However, when I use it with lots of foam, I don't notice the exfoliating effect as much. 4. It has enough cleansing power to remove fine dust, with ingredients so good you'll wonder how it's possible. Although it has an exfoliating effect, there's no irritation like with typical scrubs. You can really feel the difference when applying moisturizer at night - your skin feels smooth and calm! There's absolutely no tightness after washing. I love how it leaves my skin feeling sleek rather than dry and papery.
Cons1. The powder format might be intimidating for some. And the packaging is a bit inconvenient, though I suppose that's unavoidable with a powder formula. At first, you might find yourself chuckling nervously, wondering if you're actually cleaning your face properly, and you might lose some product to spillage. It takes some getting used to. 2. You can't create those thick, creamy lathers like with some foam cleansers.
Tip* Don't turn the water on full blast over the powder - it'll fly everywhere! * They recommend working up a good lather before cleansing, but if you want more of a scrub feeling, try gently rubbing it with damp hands or apply it to your face with both wet hands and massage. * You don't need to use a lot just because it doesn't foam much initially. The amount in the photo (or 1.5-2 times that) is plenty! ☞ Actually, the more you use, the richer the lather becomes! A small amount cleans well too, but isn't that foamy feeling just so satisfying?
