Usually, powder cleansers can be harsh on the skin, but this one turns into foam as soon as it touches water, without any physical scrubbing. It produces rich lather and I'm really enjoying using it.
ConsThere's not much to complain about, but I noticed there wasn't a seal when I first opened the product. It made me a bit worried that it might be a returned item.

Please use it a lot so it doesn't get discontinued. It's gentle on the skin - I have sensitive skin, and it's not irritating at all. The moisturizing effect is great too. After cleansing, my skin doesn't feel dry and tight, but soft and hydrated. Those who prefer a squeaky clean finish might have mixed feelings, but I loved it. As for exfoliation, this powder-type cleanser seems to remove dead skin cells effectively!
ConsThe disappointing thing is that there are rumors about it being discontinued. Please, please don't discontinue it! Other than that, there's not really anything to complain about, but it doesn't lather as much as other cleansers. So those who prefer a lot of foam should keep that in mind.

I loved how it left my skin feeling soft and clean after washing.
ConsWhile it does cleanse gently, I'm not entirely sure about its cleansing effectiveness. It might not be as powerful as I'd hoped.

Your skin becomes incredibly smooth and silky.
ConsThe container's durability is a bit disappointing. While it's optimized for powder form, it would be better if the packaging was made a bit sturdier.
TipYou can adjust the concentration to achieve your desired cleansing style. I personally add a bit more water for a gentler cleanse.

I was intrigued by this powder cleanser - it's so unique and innovative! How to use: Pour a coin-sized amount into your palm, add water, and gently massage to create a lather. 💕The biggest advantage - absolutely no irritation!!!!!! Irritation: As someone with sensitive combination dehydrated skin, I loved that it caused no irritation. I was initially concerned about the slight granules causing friction, but there was no discomfort at all. Cleansing effectiveness: It feels more suitable for light makeup days or bare-faced cleansing rather than heavy makeup removal. Of course, when used after a cleansing water, I didn't notice any residue. Immediate feel: It didn't leave my skin feeling overly tight. The lack of irritation left my skin feeling soft with a noticeably improved texture. ‼️After weeks of use: My complexion definitely seemed clearer. Despite it being winter, I experienced no dead skin cells or sensitivity issues.
ConsI honestly can't think of any downsides. The fact that it causes no irritation is a perfect 100 for me!
TipThis cleanser seems ideal for those who typically wear light makeup or for students. Regular cleansing foams can be too harsh and drying when used on bare skin, causing tightness and irritation. This product, however, is great for gentle, everyday cleansing without any irritation.

My skin type is combination, and I occasionally get pustular acne. Usually, when I use alkaline cleansers, my face feels very tight and my skin turns red. First off, I tried a powder cleanser for the first time, and it's amazing! It lathers well, is gentle, and I love it! As an enzyme cleanser, it gently removes dead skin cells without causing blemishes or irritating my skin. It definitely makes my skin texture smoother. Though it has granules, it doesn't hurt when rubbing it on the skin. Being a powder makes it great for carrying around. It seems like it would be convenient to take when traveling. It's light, and there's no risk of spilling. Even if you do spill it, it's just powder, so you can easily dust it off. I think it would suit most skin types well. I have sensitive skin, so I usually get blemishes right away if there are PEGs or other harsh ingredients! For cleansing effectiveness, please refer to the photo! It has similar cleansing power to Etude House's Soon Jung pH 5.5 Foam Cleanser.
ConsThere's really nothing to complain about! If I had to pick something, while it suits my skin well, the container is a bit awkward when dispensing the powder. It's not terrible, but it's slightly difficult to control the amount. Being a powder, they say it can clump if left in a humid place.
TipWhen I first received it, the container seemed a bit empty, so I thought it might be defective, but apparently that's normal! Although it's mildly acidic with a light feel, it does have an exfoliating function, so rather than using it daily, it might be better for your skin to use it two or three times a week.

I've been using this product for over a week now. My skin type is dry, and I occasionally get blemishes from shaving. I tried the Black Barley Enzyme Cleanser. This is my second powder-type cleanser. I previously used the Sidmool Enzyme Powder Cleanser, which I liked for its gentle feel and used about two bottles. Compared to Sidmool, Tony Moly's Black Barley seems to suit my skin better. To use it, I pour some powder into my hand and add a few drops of warm water - it dissolves well. I then work it into a lather and cleanse my face. If you don't dissolve it properly before cleansing, sensitive skin might become red from the powder's texture. The key to dissolving it well is using warm water and spreading the powder thinly and widely on your palm when dispensing. If you cup your hand and pour it in, it tends to clump and becomes harder to dissolve. While it doesn't create an abundance of foam, the post-cleanse feeling is surprisingly pleasant - my skin feels soft yet clean. It's not the excessive squeaky-clean feeling you get from cheap cleansing foams, but rather a comfortable clean that maintains the skin's moisture balance. It's like washing your face with clean rice water - a gentle cleanliness, if you will. I loved this softness when using Sidmool too, but I felt it was a bit irritating when used twice daily, so I didn't use it every day. In contrast, I can use the Tony Moly Black Barley daily without any irritation - it's very gentle. For those with very sensitive skin, using it every 2-3 days might be best. Although the container is small enough to fit in one hand, it lasts quite a long time. Being a powder cleanser, the quantity is by no means small. Those who have used it will understand.
ConsIt seems unavoidable with powder-type cleansers - unless they come up with a truly innovative container, the opening tends to get clogged with moisture from bathroom use. It might be fine if used in a dry area. It's not a major inconvenience, so it's still usable. For women, it might not have enough cleansing power as a second cleanser after removing makeup. It seems more suitable as a morning cleanser or for bare-faced cleansing. My wife also enjoys using it (though she rarely wears makeup).

Cleansing effectiveness When I first used this product, my skin was oily with lots of blackheads on my nose. But after just one use, I felt like all the excess oil was thoroughly cleansed away! This product has excellent cleansing power. As advertised, it seems like it'll be really useful on days with high pollution levels :) 2. Gentle on sensitive skin I have thin, super sensitive skin, but despite its strong cleansing power, this product isn't irritating at all. Usually, my skin turns red and blotchy if I use the wrong product, but this one felt very gentle, probably due to its natural ingredients. 3. Lightweight and easy to carry Unlike typical foam cleansers that can be heavy, this product is surprisingly light. As someone who travels frequently, I find it very convenient that it's in powder form, making it easy to portion out and carry around.
Cons1. Drying for combination dehydrated skin I have combination dehydrated skin, and while the cleansing power is excellent, my skin felt dry after use. It might be partly due to the winter season, but the slightly drying effect is a bit disappointing. However, I think it would be perfect for use in summer when you're sweaty and your skin gets extra oily. 2. Not ideal for daily use As mentioned above, due to the drying effect, it seems a bit much for daily use. I found using it two or three times a week to be more suitable.

I appreciated that it wasn't an artificial fragrance. + It has excellent cleansing effectiveness. It washes off cleanly and gently, with minimal deep dryness after cleansing. + I'm not sure if it's just me, but it feels like it cleanses mildly. I can see brown specks among the white powder - are those barley grains? They seem to have an exfoliating effect on dead skin cells.
Cons- With this powder type, controlling the amount used is crucial. Too little won't create enough lather, while too much will use up the product quickly. I found this challenging. - After adding water drops to create foam, if there's too much water, the lather runs off, and if there's too little, the powder clumps up. You really need to find the right balance when using it.
Tip* Rather than using too little powder and not getting enough foam, it's better to use about a 500 won coin-sized amount, shaking it out 3-4 times. Add just enough water to slightly cover the powder. This is the key to creating a good lather.
