As the name suggests, this skin type lacks moisture, so it's dry underneath while being oily on the surface, with thickened dead skin cells. Even when applying the best moisturizers, the dead skin cells prevent the active ingredients from being absorbed, leaving the skin dehydrated inside and oily outside. That's why exfoliation is crucial. Personally, chemical exfoliants (AHAs) didn't work for me, so I needed physical exfoliation. That's when I found and purchased this enzyme cleanser. In conclusion, it was quite effective. Using the enzyme cleanser in the morning and a BHA cleanser at night helped manage dead skin cells and sebum to some extent. When combined with a suitable moisturizer for the season, it improved my deep dryness. It took a while, but it worked!
ConsGiven that it contains particles, it's not entirely free from skin irritation. However, this is characteristic of enzyme cleansers! If it feels too harsh, try mixing it with more water to dilute it thoroughly before use, or alternate it with a milder cleanser. (Additional note) Absolutely avoid using this when your skin barrier is compromised. Also, for those with flat warts, be cautious as improper use could potentially spread them across your face. In such cases, I recommend using a mild cleanser instead.

It works well for removing dead skin cells.
ConsSometimes the granules don't dissolve completely, which can cause irritation on the face. You need to make sure it's well-dissolved before use.
TipMy mom mistook this for a regular cleansing foam and used it daily, which caused her skin to react badly. It's an enzyme powder, so it shouldn't be used every day... Just once a week is enough!

My skin is sensitive, reacting more to citrus and aromatherapy oils than chemical fragrances. Generally, I'm sensitive to ingredients listed as harmful by the FDA for my skin type. 1. Gentle & Easy Exfoliation: While chemical exfoliants are typically considered the gentlest, as someone with oily, sensitive skin who prefers minimal skincare, I found them irritating and burdensome. This product feels milder and may reduce the risk of breakouts from using too many products compared to chemical exfoliants. It's also convenient as it doesn't require double cleansing like wash-off masks. It exfoliates during your regular cleansing routine, potentially causing less damage to the skin barrier. This makes it ideal for men who find pore and dead skin cell care tedious. In conclusion, this could be a convenient, less irritating exfoliating option for those concerned about their skin barrier and sensitive to chemical exfoliants. 2. Diverse Scrub Ingredients & Effective Exfoliation: Unlike many enzyme powders with only 1-2 scrub ingredients, this product contains corn starch, rice powder, walnut shell powder, papain, and protease. It's exceptionally effective at removing dead skin cells and excess sebum among mild acidic enzyme cleansers. 3. Surprisingly Gentle Particles: Despite expecting natural scrubs to be harsh, I experienced no irritation during or after use. While this is a plus for me, granule products can be both a pro and a con depending on your skin. 4. Smooth, Fresh Feel & Mildly Acidic Formula: This mildly acidic cleanser with exfoliating properties leaves skin feeling smooth. While it may be less hydrating than other mild acidic products due to its strong exfoliation, it leaves the oily T-zone incredibly soft. It rinses off well, doesn't feel slippery despite being mildly acidic, and has a fresh feel. 5. Easy-to-Control Dispenser: Many reviewers struggle with controlling the amount of powder cleansers, but this product's dispenser makes it easy to control the quantity.
Cons1. Potential Irritation from Natural Scrubs (Non-dissolving Particles): The natural scrubs like rice powder and walnut shell powder don't dissolve in water. Their irregular surfaces might cause micro-scratches on the skin. For gentler use, apply with a light rolling motion. 2. Packaging Issues (No Seal and Fill Level): While some foreign cosmetics come without seals and partially filled opaque tubes, seeing empty space in a transparent plastic container can give the impression of a used product. A package sized more appropriately to the fill level might be preferable. 3. Excessive Exfoliation: Despite not experiencing deep dryness and using Sidmool's Mugwort Soap well even in winter, my skin showed white flaking after using this product. It's strange as I don't have dry skin. It's unclear if this is due to over-exfoliation stripping moisture or from using it two days in a row. More observation is needed. 4. Light Foam: Using a small amount of powder results in little foam, while using too much can cause clumping. This might be due to my inexperience, but the foam is very light and tends to fall off. (A foam net could solve this, but I don't use one due to hygiene concerns.)
Tip● Thoroughly wash your hands with lukewarm water, cleaning under your nails. ● Rinse your face 10 times with lukewarm water to soften dead skin cells. ● Key step: Apply the powder to slightly damp hands and lather. ● Gradually add water to adjust the foam consistency. ● When massaging, alternate between outward and inward motions, paying extra attention to the T-zone. Start and end cleansing with lukewarm water, aiming to finish within 1 minute. (Secret: Creating foam takes twice as long) ● Pat your face gently with a towel instead of rubbing.

The packaging is sleek and clean, with a minimalist design that inspires confidence. I appreciate the straightforward 'Refreshing Enzyme Cleanser' description, rather than exaggerated claims about solving all skin issues. While the container isn't filled to the brim, it contains the stated amount. I used an oil cleanser first, then tried this powder. It doesn't foam as much as typical cleansers, but I liked that - it felt more natural and gentle. The scent is delightful, reminiscent of toasted grains. It's not a fancy fragrance, but a comforting, wholesome aroma. The texture when mixed with water is similar to using flour for cleaning, with a pleasant, earthy feel.
ConsThe natural exfoliant isn't too harsh. When mixed with water, some granules remain, providing a gentle scrub. It's not intense enough to be considered a dedicated scrubbing product. The best part came after rinsing - unlike foam cleansers that leave my skin feeling stripped and desert-dry, this left my face feeling moisturized. That's a huge plus. Though I received this as part of The Hwahae Testers program, I plan to keep using it regularly.
TipI tested its cleansing power on its own. Since I don't wear heavy makeup, I used an eyebrow pencil. It removed it well, but as someone who believes in thorough cleansing, I'd recommend this as a second step for those who wear more makeup. In conclusion: Highly recommended for natural skincare enthusiasts who prefer light makeup. It works hard to keep your complexion balanced without stripping the skin's moisture.

As someone with super sensitive skin and redness that's been getting worse lately, I was initially hesitant to try new products. However, after using this, I'm pleased to report that it hasn't caused any blemishes and is incredibly gentle! Post-cleansing, my skin feels less tight compared to other products. The dispensing is also well-controlled, making it easy to use just the right amount. While I didn't notice a huge difference in exfoliation (as I regularly exfoliate), my husband, who rarely does, tried it and was impressed. He said his skin felt much smoother, and I could definitely feel the difference - it was as if he'd just exfoliated. This makes it a great option for men too!
ConsThe only downside is that while most of the granules dissolve quickly, a few sometimes remain and can occasionally get into your eyes, which can be uncomfortable. Other than that, I have no complaints - it's that good!
TipBe careful when cleansing to avoid getting the remaining granules in your eyes. It's not extremely painful if it happens, but it can be quite uncomfortable until you manage to remove them. It's best to be cautious during use.

Even after creating a foam, some granules remain, allowing for a natural scrubbing effect. The barley ingredient is natural, so you can use it with confidence! Being fragrance-free makes it even more reassuring in terms of ingredients.
ConsThe remaining granules might be irritating for those with sensitive skin.
TipIt's a hassle to pack a separate scrub gel when traveling, but with this, I can just bring one product and use it conveniently! I'll likely pack it often for trips. Above all, being a powder makes it great for carrying on flights.

It feels reassuring that I'm protecting my skin every day. Great cleansing power: Since it's good at removing fine dust, it naturally performs well. I use sunscreen and compact foundation, and this cleanser removes them effectively. Despite its strong cleansing power, my face feels less tight after washing. I have combination dehydrated skin, so in winter I drink lots of water, use a humidifier, and apply nourishing and hydrating creams. Even then, I usually experience some tightness, but with this cleanser, it's noticeably reduced compared to others I've tried. Generous amount: While experiences may vary, I think this will last me a long time. Being a powder, if you use less water it can be quite thick, but adding a bit more creates a nice lather. Using a foam maker produces an even richer foam. Being a powder, I imagine it has a longer shelf life too!
ConsExfoliation: I thought that being a powder cleanser, it would be effective for exfoliation, but it wasn't as scrubby as I expected. When I touch my skin while applying toner, it actually feels less smooth than with my regular cleansing foam. Timing: This seems more suited for evening cleansing rather than morning. I tried it in the morning, but some particles got into my eyes. It's a bit inconvenient to use in the morning as you need to mix the powder well. Trying not to spill it, I ended up with clumps!

One of the best things is that there's no skin tightness after use! You know how some cleansers can leave your skin feeling tight? Especially those with exfoliating properties. But this one doesn't do that at all. It even has a moisturizing effect, which I absolutely love! It's so interesting that it comes in powder form!
ConsThere's not really anything... negative to say. My skin feels so soft after using it, it's truly amazing. If I had to nitpick, I wish there were just a few more of those exfoliating granules in it!
TipPour about a quarter-sized amount of powder into your palm, then gently add water to thoroughly dampen it. Rub your palms together to create a lather! Then just massage it onto your face. Also, this is just my personal opinion, but since it has exfoliating properties, it might be better to use it every 3-4 days rather than daily!
