It's great that there's no tightness, and it even seems to remove dead skin cells. My complexion looks brighter too!
ConsThe only downside is that the amount is too small. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

Due to fine dust, cold winds, and various stresses, my skin has been extremely sensitive with blemishes popping up. That's why I intentionally avoided using any irritating cleansers. This cleanser, however, doesn't contain any harmful ingredients, which made me feel satisfied right away. When I first tried it, I had never used a powder cleanser before, so I didn't know how to use it properly. I scrubbed quite vigorously, which caused my nose area to turn red... That was my mistake. The next day, I tried again more gently, and wow, my skin became incredibly smooth and bright! After cleansing, my skin feels so silky smooth. I really love it! My complexion feels more radiant too!
ConsThe container wasn't... completely full... I'm not sure if that's unavoidable because it's a powder product... Also, since you need to dissolve it in water to use, some parts don't dissolve well, which can cause a bit of irritation. If you have super sensitive skin, you really need to be extra gentle when using this. Apart from these issues, I honestly can't find any other downsides.
TipI use the method of putting some powder in my palm and then adding water, but if you misjudge the amount of water... it can be very tricky. So I'm using it very carefully. Also, you only need to use about a 500 won coin-sized amount of powder. You don't really need to use that much. And I use this cleanser for my first cleanse, followed by an egg soap for my second cleanse, which leaves my skin feeling not dry at all and absolutely fantastic!

I was lucky enough to try Tony Moly's new Black Barley cleanser from their latest line, and I'd like to share my personal experience and thoughts. First off, black barley is said to be effective for skin purification and care. Clinical studies show it's 99.8% effective in removing fine dust, impurities, and dead skin cells. Ingredients: - The main ingredient is black barley extract, which helps cleanse the skin and remove fine dust. - It's designed to minimize skin irritation and even has conditioning properties. User experience: - It comes as a fine powder with visible black barley grains. When washing, these grains dissolve naturally without causing any pain or irritation. - As someone with sensitive skin, I found it very satisfying how gentle and non-irritating it was. - To use, place a coin-sized amount in your palm, add a little water to create a lather, and gently massage it onto your face. Be careful with the amount of water though, as too much can prevent it from foaming properly. - It seems to be fragrance-free to me, although some people mention a grain-like scent. - After use, my skin felt clean but still hydrated, with no tightness. Instead, it felt plump and moisturized, which I loved. It's truly gentle, leaving my skin feeling soft without any stinging. The added scrub effect is a bonus - I'm very satisfied!
ConsThe quantity seems a bit small... Compared to the container size, there seems to be less product than expected. Also, if you don't get the water ratio right, it doesn't lather well and can be difficult to cleanse properly. So be mindful of that (I made the mistake of using too much water at first and had to start over).
TipI have extremely sensitive skin that reacts easily to certain foods or high levels of fine dust, often resulting in small bumps or blemishes. Recently, my skincare routine has been: 1. Tony Moly cleanser 2. Dokdo toner 3. Medix Tea Tree Care Solution (3 times a week) 4. Aroma-tica Aloe Vera Gel 5. Scinic The Simple Daily Emulsion This routine has really helped calm my skin and improve its elasticity. Let's all take good care of our skin health!

Cleansing effectiveness: It removes makeup incredibly well. I usually wear light makeup - just cushion foundation and tint - and always needed a second cleanse. With this product alone, everything comes off without a trace. It even feels like it's removing microscopic dust, leaving my skin squeaky clean. 2. Gentle on skin: Thanks to its great ingredients, it's super mild. After cleansing, there's no tightness or tingling sensation. I have combination dehydrated skin that's super sensitive, prone to blemishes from the slightest irritation, but this product didn't cause any issues. It's a real sweetheart! 3. Scent: It's practically unscented. There's no smell at all. While I'm okay with subtle fragrances, strong scents in cleansers make me hesitant. This product's lack of fragrance is reassuring and pleasant to use. If you dislike scented cleansers, you'll love this one. 4. Texture: As it was my first time trying a powder cleanser, I was curious and a bit worried it might be harsh on the skin. Surprisingly, it dissolves quickly even with a small amount of water, creating a foam. It was fascinating and I'm really satisfied with this product.
Cons1. Quantity: When I first received it, I thought the amount seemed a bit small. It felt like there was less product than expected. Although a small amount is sufficient for cleansing and it might last longer than anticipated, I initially wondered if some had spilled during packaging. The quantity just seemed a bit odd. 2. Lather: While it's my first time using a powder cleanser, it does create a decent amount of foam for its type. However, if you're used to cleansing foams, don't expect it to lather as much. It's just good for a powder type - that's about it.
TipSince this is a powder product, be careful not to store it in overly humid places as the powder might clump together. Also, residual powder around the opening could accumulate and block it. After use, gently tap the container to ensure all powder falls back inside. When cleansing, the best method seems to be dispensing a small amount of powder into your hand, then adding a bit of lukewarm water to create a lather.

Although it's a powder cleanser with a slightly acidic pH, it effectively removes sunscreen and BB cream. The hydration it provides is excellent. It doesn't cause any deep dryness, and it seems to naturally exfoliate dead skin cells. It's so good that you might not need to use a separate exfoliating product.
ConsConsidering the price, the quantity seems insufficient. To cleanse properly, you need to use about a 500 won coin-sized amount, but overall, the product volume is too small. Especially if you're using sunscreen or BB cream and doing a double cleanse, I think it might not even last a month.
TipIt's not exactly a tip, but to address the drawback mentioned above, you could use a foam maker or bubble maker. Apply just a small amount of the product to it, then gently massage it onto your face for cleansing. This method might help you conserve the product better.

I thought it might be good for a light morning cleanse. I wanted to try an enzyme cleanser! 1. Grain? Rice? That kind of scent The fragrance was a subtle soap scent with hints of rice powder. It's not overwhelming when cleansing, and if you're not particularly sensitive, it's almost like an unscented product with a very faint soap smell. It's not a polarizing scent, so I think anyone could use it comfortably. 2. Gentle ingredients for sensitive skin cleansing I bought this because my current foam cleanser doesn't have the best ingredients, so I thought I might switch if this one was good. I checked the ingredients on the Hwahae app. The ingredients are suitable even for sensitive skin, so I felt confident in my purchase. I think the formulation is relatively simple compared to other cleansers. In practice, it left my skin feeling more subdued and hydrated compared to my squeaky-clean foam cleanser.
Cons3. Not much foam! Since it's a powder type, I expected less foam than a regular cleanser, but it still produced a decent amount when I worked it up. However, if you enjoy cleansing with rich, creamy foam, this product might not be very appealing. 4. Cleansing effectiveness is about 2 out of 5. I'm not sure if it's because it's gentle or if that's just how it is. I felt it wasn't quite right for oily or combination skin. With my previous foam cleanser, I didn't feel like my skin was very oily the next morning after cleansing at night and applying skincare. With this one, I could feel oil on my forehead and nose bridge when I woke up. If you have very oily skin, you might find oil building up quickly if you only use this cleanser. 5. Surprisingly small size You won't be scooping out a ton of powder at once, so it might be okay, but I laughed when I first saw how small it was. It's about a hand span tall? The container is just slightly thicker than a glue stick. The price isn't exactly cheap either. And if you ask whether it was really good? Not really. It's just... average. I didn't feel like it cleaned off fine dust particularly well. When I used it alone, even after using an exfoliating toner, I could still see small specks of dirt around my nose, hairline, and eyebrows. Maybe it's because I have combination-oily skin... I found that cleansing wasn't sufficient with just this product, so I had to use a foam cleanser as well.
Tip6. It might be good for morning use, or on days when you're not wearing makeup, or for a light cleanse after using a wash-off mask. Since it doesn't foam much, it's best to use a gentler touch than usual when cleansing. It won't give you that squeaky-clean feeling anyway, and even though it's supposed to be a gentle type, those with acne-prone or super sensitive skin that can't handle much friction should cleanse very gently. Oily skin types might prefer their usual foam cleanser... It's barely passable for winter, but I couldn't use this in summer. I don't plan to repurchase. Remember, skincare is different for everyone, so take reviews as a reference only!
