I've repurchased it two or three times. I prefer a light and transparent makeup, so I really love Ameli's natural-looking tone-up effect...♡ It has no coverage at all, but that's the charm. If I apply a bright concealer to the areas that need coverage, my skin looks really good and beautiful. The coverage is absolutely non-existent, there is literally no coverage at all. You shouldn't think of it as a regular cushion. On days when my skin condition was poor, there was also a slightly floating feeling. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinApr 30, 2025
It's moisturizing enough to use as a brightening moisturizer. To be honest, I think it's closer to a brightening moisturizer than a cushion foundation. It gives my skin a lively look! I'm not sure if it's because this product is so hydrating, but after using it for a while, the puff seems to develop a strange odor... - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 19, 2025
The Amélie Tone-Up Base Daily Cushion truly lives up to its name as the perfect cushion for everyday use! It provides a subtle and natural brightening effect that makes you look fresh-faced and vibrant, as if you're not wearing makeup at all. What I love most is how it doesn't leave a white cast but instead makes your skin look clear and luminous - it's a top recommendation for daily makeup! The texture is lightweight and hydrating, absorbing seamlessly into the skin as you pat it in, leaving a smooth finish without any pilling. It's not heavy or suffocating when wearing a mask, making it ideal for those in-between weather days. It also takes well to touch-ups and fades gracefully over time, maintaining a clean look for hours. Being a brightening moisturizer, the coverage is a bit lacking. It barely covers blemishes or acne scars, so it's best used just for evening out skin texture and complexion. Depending on your skin tone, it might look too light, so those with warm undertones should be careful with the amount they apply - using too much can look a bit unnatural. While it's hydrating, those with dry skin might experience some tightness or pilling if they don't have a solid skincare routine underneath. The case is cute, but the product seems to run out faster than expected, which is disappointing. It's great for daily use, but might not be sufficient for a full glam look. For best results, smooth out your skin texture with skincare first, then apply the product thinly in multiple layers using the puff for a natural brightening effect. Focus on brightening the T-zone and center of the cheeks, then lightly pat the remaining product elsewhere for a balanced look. If you need more coverage, just spot-conceal blemishes for a flawless finish. Pro tip: keep it in the fridge for a cooling effect that's great for calming skin! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinFeb 27, 2025
When applied in small amounts, it brightens your complexion like a brightening moisturizer. The color has a white-pink tone. It looks natural on fair cool-toned skin, but might appear too light on darker complexions. There's no coverage at all. The lasting power is impressive, and while it requires some skill to apply, when done right, it looks natural and beautiful like your own skin! At first, not knowing better, I applied it like I would a regular cushion foundation and was shocked at how white it made me look. You really need to be careful with the amount you use. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 19, 2025
Even with a light application, it definitely brightens and lasts long. This is your go-to for eliminating cushion darkening. When I leave at dawn and come back at night, my foundation or cushion might be gone, but thanks to this, my skin still looks clear. I have dry skin, so it was a bit drying, but not to the point where it bothered me throughout the day. The real issue is... there are ingredients that can irritate when exposed to UV rays. I underestimated this. I thought it was just a caution for sensitive skin, but it was actually dangerous. I used the Dohwa cushion well initially and kept buying refills, but I regret not knowing this sooner. Since using this brightening moisturizer, my complexion has consistently darkened. I used to have a clear 21 shade that matched my base perfectly, but it's darkened significantly. I'm devastated... I've heard many comments about how much darker I've gotten, and only realized the problem when my face looked oddly dark compared to my neck. There's no point in using it if it only brightens temporarily while continuously darkening your actual skin tone. It's much better to consistently use a whitening cream instead. I strongly advise against this... I hope no one else goes through what I did... please... - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 22, 2025
This brightening moisturizer gives your skin a lovely, luminous finish. I really appreciated the built-in spatula on the cushion cover, which makes it easy to dispense small amounts. It does a great job of elevating your complexion, leaving it bright and clear. When used alone, its staying power isn't the best. It doesn't completely conceal pores or cover blemishes perfectly. I found it works even better when mixed with other products or used for touch-ups throughout the day. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinDec 18, 2024
It's great for brightening my fair skin naturally, and even my friends with darker complexions say it works well for them. I've gone through about 4 bottles. I love that it's not as heavy as foundation and doesn't cause any blemishes. I settled on this for a while, but now I'm looking for something with slightly better coverage. The puff is a bit thin, so it can feel like it's sliding around in your hand when applying. Also, the matte packaging tends to show dirt easily. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinDec 13, 2024
Great for when you want a natural tone-up on bare skin. It creates a really bright and radiant base, so with the right amount, you can achieve a beautiful look. It's Ameli's signature and best-selling product, and I definitely think it's quite unique in terms of color. Worth trying if you're looking for a foundation-free option. I was hoping the brightening effect would last, knowing it wouldn't provide coverage, but the staying power is quite short. It doesn't seem to suit my skin either. It goes beyond dewy to greasy, and oil surfaces quickly, which isn't pretty. I wanted to enhance my natural look, but that's not happening. If not applied well, you end up looking like a white rice cake slathered in sesame oil... The puff is also disappointing. Even affordable cushions these days have decent puffs, but this one wears out easily and is awkward to wash, so I switched to something else after a few uses. It's available at Olive Young, so testing is a must! Opinions on this product vary widely from person to person. If you have super sensitive skin, be sure to check the ingredients list. Even with my steel-like skin, it feels stuffy and itchy... - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinOct 23, 2024
It's not overly pink and doesn't leave a white cast. I love how it naturally evens skin tone. With its high SPF, I can use it alone without additional sunscreen, which is super convenient. Even after hours, it doesn't cake or emphasize dead skin cells - just a slight oil breakthrough. The coverage is practically non-existent. When you have blemishes or your skin isn't at its best, it can make your face look a bit messy. It's tricky to use with concealer as the color difference is too noticeable. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 20, 2024
I love how moisturizing it is and how well it brightens my complexion! I'm already on my second bottle. It's a bit disappointing that it doesn't provide much coverage. If it did, it would be perfect!
