I've been using this for about three months now. I love how it makes my skin look thinner and more translucent - it really brightens up my complexion! The only slight downside was that it took me a while to figure out the right amount to use at first. - jg********Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsRednessRecommendedMay 18, 2025
I've repurchased it two or three times. I prefer a light and transparent makeup, so I really love Ameli's natural-looking tone-up effect...♡ It has no coverage at all, but that's the charm. If I apply a bright concealer to the areas that need coverage, my skin looks really good and beautiful. The coverage is absolutely non-existent, there is literally no coverage at all. You shouldn't think of it as a regular cushion. On days when my skin condition was poor, there was also a slightly floating feeling. - ja***********May 1, 2025
It seems to create a beautiful skin appearance! Gives a soft, smooth feeling? Even though I don't have particularly sensitive skin, my face gets itchy and red - du******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 1, 2025
As someone with light cool-toned combination skin (not too dry or oily, but suits a glowy finish) in shade 19, I find this foundation creates a beautiful skin-like finish with a nice glow. It's moisturizing and, best of all, evens out my complexion beautifully. It's truly disappointing that I can't use it due to blemishes. Why, oh why did this have to happen?! I used this for about 3-4 days recently, and from the very first night, my face started itching and small and large blemishes appeared. I've never had issues with blemishes before, and even if I got the occasional spot, it would disappear after a good night's sleep. But while using this, the blemishes kept increasing and the itching got worse. After stopping use, my skin is slowly recovering. - wn*********Normal SkinWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedApr 30, 2025
It's moisturizing enough to use as a brightening moisturizer. To be honest, I think it's closer to a brightening moisturizer than a cushion foundation. It gives my skin a lively look! I'm not sure if it's because this product is so hydrating, but after using it for a while, the puff seems to develop a strange odor... - lo*******Oily SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedApr 28, 2025
Nothing beats this for evening out skin tone. It blends in beautifully about 10 minutes after application. The refill doesn't come with a lid, so you have to buy the original container. The container itself isn't coated, so it gets dirty quickly. The quality of the puff is just mediocre. - al************Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 20, 2025
The Amélie Tone-Up Base Daily Cushion truly lives up to its name as the perfect cushion for everyday use! It provides a subtle and natural brightening effect that makes you look fresh-faced and vibrant, as if you're not wearing makeup at all. What I love most is how it doesn't leave a white cast but instead makes your skin look clear and luminous - it's a top recommendation for daily makeup! The texture is lightweight and hydrating, absorbing seamlessly into the skin as you pat it in, leaving a smooth finish without any pilling. It's not heavy or suffocating when wearing a mask, making it ideal for those in-between weather days. It also takes well to touch-ups and fades gracefully over time, maintaining a clean look for hours. Being a brightening moisturizer, the coverage is a bit lacking. It barely covers blemishes or acne scars, so it's best used just for evening out skin texture and complexion. Depending on your skin tone, it might look too light, so those with warm undertones should be careful with the amount they apply - using too much can look a bit unnatural. While it's hydrating, those with dry skin might experience some tightness or pilling if they don't have a solid skincare routine underneath. The case is cute, but the product seems to run out faster than expected, which is disappointing. It's great for daily use, but might not be sufficient for a full glam look. For best results, smooth out your skin texture with skincare first, then apply the product thinly in multiple layers using the puff for a natural brightening effect. Focus on brightening the T-zone and center of the cheeks, then lightly pat the remaining product elsewhere for a balanced look. If you need more coverage, just spot-conceal blemishes for a flawless finish. Pro tip: keep it in the fridge for a cooling effect that's great for calming skin! - mi*******Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsEnlarged PoresRecommendedMar 9, 2025
It's so moisturizing that even a quick application doesn't leave your skin patchy! It really brightens up your complexion. In summer, as time passes, the moisturizing effect starts to feel a bit oily. I'd recommend this more for fall and winter use. - st*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 28, 2025
When applied in small amounts, it brightens your complexion like a brightening moisturizer. The color has a white-pink tone. It looks natural on fair cool-toned skin, but might appear too light on darker complexions. There's no coverage at all. The lasting power is impressive, and while it requires some skill to apply, when done right, it looks natural and beautiful like your own skin! At first, not knowing better, I applied it like I would a regular cushion foundation and was shocked at how white it made me look. You really need to be careful with the amount you use. - eu*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsFeb 20, 2025
Even with a light application, it definitely brightens and lasts long. This is your go-to for eliminating cushion darkening. When I leave at dawn and come back at night, my foundation or cushion might be gone, but thanks to this, my skin still looks clear. I have dry skin, so it was a bit drying, but not to the point where it bothered me throughout the day. The real issue is... there are ingredients that can irritate when exposed to UV rays. I underestimated this. I thought it was just a caution for sensitive skin, but it was actually dangerous. I used the Dohwa cushion well initially and kept buying refills, but I regret not knowing this sooner. Since using this brightening moisturizer, my complexion has consistently darkened. I used to have a clear 21 shade that matched my base perfectly, but it's darkened significantly. I'm devastated... I've heard many comments about how much darker I've gotten, and only realized the problem when my face looked oddly dark compared to my neck. There's no point in using it if it only brightens temporarily while continuously darkening your actual skin tone. It's much better to consistently use a whitening cream instead. I strongly advise against this... I hope no one else goes through what I did... please...
