It feels just like water, which was perfect for my sensitive skin that's been acting up with blemishes lately. It didn't cause any irritation whatsoever on my skin. While everyone's experience may differ, from my perspective, it didn't sting or hurt even when applied to areas with blemishes. I found it great to use this product for a second cleanse after washing my face in the morning - it made my skin feel even cleaner. Plus, its water-like consistency means there's no stickiness at all, which I really appreciate! The fact that it's fragrance-free also adds to its refreshing feel. It seems like an ideal toner for lightly refining your skin texture after cleansing in the morning.
ConsThe hydration level isn't incredibly high, so if you have very dehydrated skin, you might find it a bit unsatisfactory. Also, it's on the pricier side, which could make it a bit of a splurge if it's not on sale.
TipAfter using the toner, I applied my regular skin and serum. This routine seemed to really lock in the moisture!

Lightweight It's not heavy, which might not appeal to those who prefer richer products. However, I found its lightness perfect for a refreshing application! 2. Hydration Often, toners, especially lightweight ones, evaporate quickly without providing much hydration. This one, though, leaves a noticeable moisturizing effect even after application. (Recommended for combination dehydrated skin!) 3. Blemishes While it might be due to my lack of skincare routine before, I noticed that regularly wiping blemish-prone areas with this toner actually helped clear them up! It also seemed to have a soothing effect. (Highly recommended for oily skin types!)
ConsI can't think of any downsides. For me, this toner was perfect! I feel like I've found my holy grail toner.
TipNo matter how you apply it, it works like a charm!

Fragrance Since my skin is super sensitive, I mainly use fragrance-free products, and I love that this one has no scent. 2. Absorption It absorbs incredibly fast. It disappears quickly when I pat it in, so I applied it multiple times, dividing my face into sections. 3. Texture The texture is very water-like and lightweight. I think it would feel refreshing and nice to use in summer. 4. Packaging It has a twist-open cap, and the container is light and convenient. Plus, you can see how much product is left inside! This is surprisingly important, as I've noticed some products lately where you can't see the contents.
ConsPersonally, I find this product very disappointing... I think it should only be used as a toner pad. It's too light... so light that it provides no hydration at all! And because it's so watery, it just runs off... I'm used to using toners with more viscosity, so this was a bit inconvenient for me. Also, while the ingredients seem quite gentle, for some reason my face broke out with lots of blemishes. I'll have to keep observing to see if it's really because of this product.

Absorption: I recommend applying it with a cotton pad. It absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves a fresh finish. Scent: It's fragrance-free. Personally, I prefer unscented skincare products for my face, so I appreciated that this toner has no fragrance. Ingredients: The formula is very gentle. With 50% centella asiatica extract, it's great for sensitive skin care. Additionally, it's free from 10 harmful ingredients, making it a trustworthy choice. As someone with acne-prone skin, I didn't experience any breakouts from this toner. Packaging: The plastic bottle has a label that reads, 'Please remove the label and recycle the container.' (See photo for reference.) This shows the brand's commitment to environmental consciousness.
ConsThe downside is that due to its water-like consistency, the toner seems to disappear quickly once absorbed, almost as if you haven't applied anything. Those with dry skin might find it not hydrating enough!
TipRather than applying directly with your hands, using a cotton pad to apply the product works better. Also, as mentioned earlier, you can remove the label from the container and reuse it, which is a great eco-friendly option.

My skin has been quite sensitive and dry lately. First off, the Real Barrier Cicarelief Toner has a water-like consistency that absorbs quickly without any sticky residue, leaving a refreshing feel. In other words, it's like pure water! Not very moisturizing on its own. That's why when you apply it right after cleansing, you'll find yourself wanting to layer it on endlessly. As you can see in the photo, I used about a third of the bottle in just 10 days from 3/25 to 4/3. Despite this, it's great for building up hydration deep within the skin. I'd recommend this for those with oily or combination dehydrated skin as it provides inner hydration while keeping the surface feeling fresh. Being a cica product, it helps calm redness and soothe those angry, itchy pimples that are about to surface. By morning, they're much more settled. However, this product alone isn't quite enough to fully tackle blemishes. I found that following my usual skincare routine with this toner and then applying Alive:Lab Centella Powder on problem areas makes the blemishes practically disappear by the next day! It also helps fade acne scars faster when applied right after popping a pimple. You can see the areas I'm talking about circled in red in the photo. Also, because of its watery texture that encourages layering, I noticed a significant improvement in my skin texture. It's especially effective for uneven skin and improving overall texture. While it might not be super noticeable to the naked eye, when I touch my face after skincare, it feels incredibly smooth, and I can tell that a lot of the texture issues have diminished! However, I did notice that cica products tend to make my tiny bumps slightly more pronounced. So while it smooths out overall texture, it might emphasize some small bumps. It's a bit of a double-edged sword. But this could be due to my oily forehead, so I'm not sure if it's specifically because of this product. Lately, I've been loving how soft my skin feels after using this in my skincare routine. Because it's so runny, it tends to slip through your fingers if you try to apply it with your hands. I recommend using it for a toner mask! I use Aritaum's 5-layer cotton pads, which are great for toner masks and removing makeup. For toner masks, you can separate the layers and apply them to your face. For makeup removal, you can use one side, peel off a layer, use the other side, and so on - one pad can remove both eye and face makeup! Highly recommend! Back to the main point - if you do a toner mask for about 5 minutes and then remove it, your skin feels as soft as a baby's bottom. If you then wipe gently along your skin's texture with the cotton pad and apply more toner, it's amazing! Using this toner reminded me a lot of Etude House's Soon Jung toner! Both have a water-like consistency, are fragrance-free (though Real Barrier's is slightly pink while Soon Jung is clear), have gentle ingredients, and are great for soothing. Both should work well for most people. The difference is that while Soon Jung is simply non-irritating for everyone, Real Barrier Cicarelief Toner goes a step further in actually caring for your skin. So while Soon Jung won't cause acne, Cicarelief not only prevents toner-induced breakouts but also helps calm and reduce acne caused by makeup or external factors!
ConsAs I mentioned earlier, because of its water-like texture, it runs out quickly. I prefer to saturate my skin with toner, leaving it very moist before moving on to the next step, but with this one, no matter how much I use, it dries quickly. If you delay even a bit, your skin starts to feel dry and tight, so you need to quickly move on to the next step (essence, serum, emulsion, etc.) to replenish moisture. If they could make a version with a slightly more viscous texture, it would be great for dry skin types and for combination skin in winter! It would also help the product last longer. While I love the effects and would like to repurchase for summer, I find it a bit pricey for the amount you get (especially considering how quickly it runs out due to the texture). As a student, I might buy it during Olive Young sales, but probably not at full price. Given how liberally you end up using this product, it would be great if they made a larger size, maybe around 300ml! If they could offer a bulk size at a slightly lower price point, I'd definitely stock up. Also, if they could create a product with the same effects but a more essence-like, moisturizing texture, it would be perfect for fall and winter use!
TipAs I mentioned above, this works amazingly well with Alive:Lab Centella Powder! Definitely try using them together. It's incredibly effective for those hard, about-to-surface pimples!

Texture: A watery, hydrating, and soothing toner. Usually, I apply toners with my hands as even cotton pads can be irritating, but this product evaporates too quickly when applied by hand. It's best used by saturating a cotton pad generously. The toner feels refreshing and gives a sense of thorough cleansing. It seems to effectively balance the skin. Scent: To me, it's unscented, making it great for sensitive skin use without irritation. Blemishes? My skin is extremely sensitive and I can't use just anything, but since my acne has calmed down a bit, this product didn't cause any breakouts. It even seemed to reduce inflammation in troubled areas. Overall: I enjoyed this as a cleansing toner with its lightweight feel and cooling effect. I've been looking for products with Madecassoside or Panthenol as they work well for soothing my blemishes, and this toner has the best ingredient list I've found. It doesn't clog pores, making it suitable for acne-prone and sensitive skin. I think it would be great for summer use, and I'm considering purchasing it once I finish this bottle.
ConsVolume: Since I use it as a cleansing toner, I need to use quite a bit on a cotton pad. I wish the bottle was a bit larger. Need for cotton pads: It's disappointing that this product needs to be applied with a cotton pad, as even cotton can be irritating for me and I prefer applying with my hands. The ingredients are great for soothing, but having to use a cotton pad... For those who find cotton pads irritating, it's a bit of a dilemma.
TipApplying it as a skin pack with a soaked cotton pad on troubled areas helps soothe the skin.

What I absolutely loved about this toner is that it's fragrance-free, which allowed me to use it for quite a long time. Plus, it absorbs well, leaving my skin feeling refreshed and invigorated after application - it's really fantastic!
ConsI didn't really feel like it had much of a calming effect. Also, I'm not sure if it's because it absorbs so quickly, but my skin felt like it dried out pretty fast.

Absorption ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It absorbs quickly without being sticky, leaving a fresh feeling. The watery texture makes it great for layering other skincare products on top. 2. Soothing effect ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had some small bumps on my cheeks, but after doing a skin pack every night, the tiny acne quickly subsided. Even without refrigerating the product, I could feel a slight cooling effect when doing the skin pack, which helped soothe my skin and significantly reduced deep dryness. 3. Packaging ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The container is made of a soft, squeezable plastic, which is great for when you need to use a larger amount, like for a skin pack. The opening at the front is also just right, allowing you to dispense small amounts by tapping it. It's easy to control the amount you use.
Cons1. Price I think the price is a bit high compared to the volume. It's a really good toner for skin packs, but since you use a lot for skin packs, it's not very cost-effective for frequent use. 2. For dry skin While it's good for addressing deep dryness, due to its watery texture, people with very dry skin might find it a bit drying if they only use it once after their exfoliating toner. 3. Blemishes? I did get two large blemishes while using this product, but I'm not sure if it's because of fatigue or this product. Since my small bumps went away, I don't think it's because of this product, but I'm mentioning it just in case.
TipAt night, after using an exfoliating toner, I recommend soaking a cotton pad generously with this product and leaving it on as a skin pack. It fills the skin with hydration nicely. In the morning, after using an exfoliating toner, gently pat a small amount onto your skin with your hands for extra absorption.

Rapid absorption: The texture is incredibly watery, not at all thick like some serums. It absorbs lightning-fast, which I love! Plus, it leaves your skin feeling wonderfully fresh. Fragrance-free: While I'm not particularly sensitive to scents, I know many are. I couldn't detect any fragrance at all. Even when I poured out a larger amount, there was only the faintest hint of a sweet scent - so subtle you'd have to really try to smell it. Those with fragrance sensitivities shouldn't have any issues! Gentle ingredients: It's rare to find a toner without any potentially irritating ingredients, but this one fits the bill! As someone who's had skin troubles in the past, I'm extra cautious about ingredients. Being able to use this without worrying is a huge plus. Cooling effect: Even though I keep this in my bathroom cabinet (not refrigerated), I felt an amazing cooling sensation when applying it for a skin pack. It was so refreshing and delightful - I had to mention it! Easy to control: We've all had those moments where we accidentally pour out way too much watery toner. Thankfully, this bottle dispenses just a drop or two at a time, preventing any wasteful spills. The packaging design is spot-on!
ConsBlemishes: Despite the gentle ingredients, I experienced some unexpected breakouts, even though it wasn't during my usual acne-prone time. My usually smooth skin developed several small bumps and even a few larger blemishes. My mom even asked what happened to my face! While this might just be my skin's reaction, if you have similar skin, you might want to think twice before purchasing. Value for money: As many other reviewers have mentioned, the price seems a bit steep for 190ml. It might be a bit too pricey for students or those on a budget. Dryness: As mentioned, I have slightly dehydrated combination skin that's sensitive. I needed to apply at least 3 layers to address the deep dryness, and for a truly hydrated feel, I had to use 5 layers or do a skin pack. Even after 5 layers, it dried faster than expected. Whether you have dry or combination skin, you'll definitely need to follow up with an emulsion.
TipPersonally, I prefer using a 5-layer cotton pad for a skin pack rather than applying 5 layers of toner. If you have dry skin, try 3 layers, and if that's not enough, I recommend a skin pack. For those with oily skin looking for light hydration, this could work well on its own. The watery texture and fresh finish make it great for layering according to your preferences!

I applied it after my toner, gently patting it into my skin, and I loved how it absorbed with a fresh finish. I use it as a toner in the morning and apply a small amount with my hands in the evening. Above all, I'm thrilled that it has gentle ingredients and comes in a huge size! I'll definitely repurchase when I finish this bottle.
ConsFor those who like to use a lot of toner, the small amount dispensed might be inconvenient. Other than that, there are no drawbacks. I had to really stretch to find even this minor issue...
TipFor those with sensitive skin, it might be beneficial to use a small amount of this toner along with aloe gel in the evening.
