My skin's condition fluctuates a lot depending on the environment and my overall health. Overall, this product helps calm my skin and reduce redness without causing any blemishes. I adjust the amount I use based on my skin's needs. It feels moisturizing and seems to penetrate deep into my skin, giving it a firm and plump feeling. If you apply too much at once, it can sit on top of the skin and take a while to absorb. It feels a bit sticky when first applied. It tends to pill when I apply sunscreen over it. I wish the price was a bit more wallet-friendly. It works best when you apply a small amount and gently pat it into your skin. This method helps it absorb without sitting on the surface. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 20, 2021
It's great for calming sensitive skin and provides excellent hydration, making it suitable for dry and sensitive skin types. The absorption is a bit slow, and when applied before makeup, it can cause pilling and make the foundation slide off. I recommend applying it at night before going to bed! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 16, 2021
I love how the fluid texture feels moisturizing without being too oily As you rub it in, it doesn't absorb well and tends to pill - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 1, 2021
Absorbs with a moisturizing feel. Similar to easily accessible brands like Avène and La Roche-Posay, it has that white, thick texture, but it's much more hydrating and flows smoothly. Personally, I'd rank them: Avène < La Roche-Posay <<<<<< Aestura in terms of hydration. While it doesn't provide instant soothing, I noticed my skin, which used to flake white, felt more hydrated when I woke up after applying it before bed. The price is also reasonable. Nothing particularly negative to mention. I really tried to think of something, but couldn't find any faults. Just note that it's not suitable for use before makeup as it may cause pilling. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 18, 2021
I've been using Aestura's 365 Cream regularly and trust the brand (it's even recommended by dermatologists!). As spring arrived, I noticed my dry skin becoming even drier, so I thought adding the Cica Essence would be beneficial. First off, I was impressed by how even a small amount effectively combats skin dryness. While the 365 Cream is great for daily use, the Cica Essence feels perfect as a base layer when your skin barrier feels compromised or when you're experiencing extreme dryness. It's fragrance-free with gentle ingredients, making it especially suitable for those with super sensitive skin! Being an essence, it has a much thinner consistency than a cream, but it's highly concentrated. If you apply this product after layering multiple skincare steps, you might experience some pilling. While you can usually resolve this by thoroughly massaging it in, I'd advise against using too much of this concentrated formula! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinApr 16, 2021
Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin + occasional blemishes Application: The texture isn't watery, but it's not so thick that it won't drip when you turn your hand over. It spreads smoothly on the skin. There's a slight richness, and while it doesn't absorb instantly, once it does, there's no greasy residue. It leaves a clean finish. However, if you layer it and wear a mask, you might notice some pilling when you take the mask off. Hydration: While I feel some moisture on my hand, it's not as noticeable on my face. I found myself using it with more hydrating products. When paired with lightweight, quick-evaporating products, it seemed to help lock in that moisture. Blemishes: I had some redness on my chin from small blemishes coming and going, and this seemed to help calm that area. It's not so much that it cleared up the blemishes, but the redness subsided faster than usual. Despite its richness and ingredients that might concern those with oily or blemish-prone skin, it fortunately didn't cause any breakouts for me. As mentioned earlier, while the product doesn't pill during application, after doing my full makeup and wearing a mask, I noticed some residue when removing the mask. This happened consistently while using this product, whether I only applied sunscreen or did a full face of makeup. As the weather gets warmer, it's starting to feel a bit heavy. While the finish is clean, it doesn't absorb super quickly, so it might not feel great to apply in hot weather. This might be more noticeable for me as I have oily skin. Overall, it was an okay product. It's marketed for skin soothing, but it didn't particularly stand out in that aspect, and the hydration felt slightly lacking for my needs. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 20, 2021
It absorbs well, leaving the skin feeling soft and fresh without any irritation. I'm glad I bought it on sale, though I can't say there's anything particularly outstanding about it. The product packaging feels a bit cheap. It leaves a white cast when applied, so I only use it before bed. Sometimes it pills when layered with other products. I won't be repurchasing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 14, 2020
I love that it contains squalane, one of my favorite ingredients, which makes it really moisturizing. The feeling after application is absolutely wonderful - you might not even need to use a separate cream! When you spread it, it leaves a slight milky residue. The absorption time varies - sometimes it takes longer than other products, sometimes not. It really depends on your skin condition that day. If you apply too much, your makeup might pill. When applying, if your skin is completely dry and you only have essence on, it absorbs slowly like a nourishing cream. Try spritzing some toner or mist before application for better results. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJun 22, 2020
No skin irritation and decent hydration are definite pluses. The packaging is also user-friendly with a good grip, allowing you to dispense just the right amount cleanly. As a cream-essence for sensitive skin, I expected the cool scent typical of cica products, but it's actually fragrance-free. I hoped for the moisturizing power of a cream and the absorbs of an essence, but honestly, it falls short compared to other Aestura products. After using it for about a week, I didn't notice any visible calming effects. It applies smoothly, but sometimes pills like sunscreen, creating a white cast. Apparently, this is due to the highly concentrated ingredients forming a temporary film, which disappears after absorption, but the overall absorbs feels mediocre. It's also a bit sticky. It seems best to apply a small amount to areas needing soothing and ensure it absorbs well. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 23, 2020
I received this product as part of a promotion from another site and decided to give it a try. I've been using Aestura's moisturizer with great results, so I had high expectations for this brand. I'm happy to say this product didn't disappoint! First off, true to its 'cica' name, it has excellent soothing properties! I was really stressed about some sudden blemishes that popped up, but after using this for a few days, the red spots calmed down nicely. Just be careful not to apply too much, as it can feel a bit rich. I initially used this as a cream essence, applying a moisturizer on top, but that felt too heavy. I found it works best when I use a light serum first, then follow with this product. It's perfect that way! I think it'll be great as a lightweight cream step even in summer. Personally, I'm satisfied with how it absorbs. As you can see in the photo, it looks white when you first apply it, but after patting it in about ten times, it absorbs completely. Apart from soothing blemishes, I didn't notice any other significant effects. However, for someone with blemish-prone skin like me, I think it's still worth the price. One slight downside is that my skin feels a bit dry as time passes. It's fine on bare skin, but when I wear makeup, it tends to pill a bit. After wearing makeup for a while, I notice my skin feeling dehydrated (I have combination dehydrated skin). Because of this, I mainly use it before bed, applying a thicker layer, or on days when I'm not wearing makeup. Other than that, I didn't have any complaints. When you first apply it, you might think it feels oilier than expected, but once it's fully absorbed, your skin feels fresh!
