I loved how clean and fresh my hair felt after shampooing. It was great to see my hair looking fuller and more voluminous once it dried. As others have mentioned, you need to use a bit more product to get a satisfying lather and that refreshing feeling. Right after washing, your hair might feel a bit stiff, but it's fascinating how it returns to your natural texture once it's dry. I made sure to use plenty of shampoo for a thorough, refreshing cleanse. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 21, 2021
Current scalp condition: I have seborrheic dermatitis, folliculitis, and female pattern hair loss, making my scalp sensitive. Except in winter, it's oily, so if I skip washing for even a day, my scalp develops a strange odor and feels greasy. I've been told my crown looks a bit red, and I'm currently taking medication prescribed by a dermatologist. Ingredients: Given my scalp issues, even slightly harsh ingredients can irritate and upset my skin. I usually use Sidmool products, and this one, like their others, has gentle ingredients. I especially appreciated the biotin and tea tree components. Tea tree has always been effective for me, and I've been taking biotin supplements separately for hair loss. Despite my oily, problematic scalp, I experienced no irritation or dryness. Even though I'm prone to acne, sebum, dead skin cells, and dandruff due to seborrheic dermatitis and folliculitis, using this product doesn't make these issues feel prominent. I only 'occasionally' noticed small sebum particles without any other symptoms. Of course, these conditions require dermatological treatment, but the shampoo has helped reduce my stress, which is very satisfying! Cleansing power: Those with seborrheic dermatitis and oily scalps know the greasy feeling and scalp odor that develop after just one day without washing. This shampoo's superior cleansing power leaves my scalp feeling fresh. It rinses clean without any slippery residue. I recommend it for oily scalps, and it would be great for dry scalps in summer. Volume: At 400ml, which is rare among Sidmool shampoos, it lasts surprisingly long. With my current bob-length hair, one bottle has lasted nearly two months. Other notes: Despite its thin consistency and slightly acidic pH, it lathers well with just one pump. It's fragrance-free with natural, gentle ingredients, and has a subtle, natural tea tree scent that shouldn't bother most people unless they're very sensitive to smells. You can get a discount if you choose two products when purchasing. Severe stiffness and tangling: I've used Sidmool's Black Hair Dowon Shampoo and Dr. Troub Panthenol Shampoo before, but they didn't cause much stiffness or tangling despite their moisturizing ingredients. However, with this product, my hair starts to feel very stiff as soon as I begin rinsing. It becomes so stiff and tangled that it's hard to run my fingers through, forcing me to use a treatment mid-wash. After 2-3 weeks, it improved somewhat, and after two months, my hair seemed to adapt to the shampoo, significantly reducing the stiffness and tangling compared to before. Still, a treatment remains necessary. Dryness: The official description recommends this for 'unbalanced scalp and hair conditions, such as oily scalp and dry hair,' which perfectly describes my situation. However, after two months of use, I still experience some hair dryness. Fortunately, it's not severe, and while my scalp feels fine, my hair tends to feel dry. Price: Given that there are many other brands offering gentle, natural ingredient shampoos, 18,600 won for 400ml seems a bit steep. Using lukewarm water helps reduce the stiffness and tangling when rinsing, as well as the subsequent dryness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 9, 2020
To be honest, I'm not sure about the good points... Maybe the cool menthol scent? First off, probably because it contains ethanol, it makes my hair incredibly stiff. It doesn't lather well, and the stiffness combo... well, you can imagine. It's not like it removes oil better either. Why? Because it's so stiff, it doesn't cleanse properly. I can barely run my fingers through my scalp. For someone with long hair like me, it's really not ideal. I switched to this from a soothing shampoo because I thought the natural ingredients might leave some oil, but after trying to use it 5 times, I've given up. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 4, 2020
I have an extremely oily scalp, but compared to other shampoos, this one seems to leave my hair feeling less greasy. It feels a bit stiff when washing my hair. After using it for a long time, I feel like it's not as effective as it was initially. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 4, 2020
It really helped improve my oily scalp. For a natural shampoo, it lathers up surprisingly well. Usually, you need to wash twice to feel like you've cleaned your hair properly. It leaves hair feeling a bit stiff, so using a hair essence alongside it works best. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 25, 2020
My all-time favorite shampoo review I've lost count of how many bottles I've used since discovering this shampoo. Even when I try other shampoos, I always make sure to have the Tea Tree Biotin Shampoo on hand - it's a must-have in my routine. First off, out of the countless oily scalp shampoos I've tried, this one is hands down the best. What makes it stand out? Compared to other oily scalp shampoos, it keeps my scalp feeling fresh and non-greasy for the longest time. I've truly tried every oily scalp shampoo out there, and this one takes the crown. If you're struggling with an oily scalp, you absolutely must give this shampoo a try. You won't regret it, I promise. And get this - I found out that my favorite shampoo was chosen as the #1 shampoo by Director Pi! When I saw that video, I felt so validated. The scent is refreshingly cool, lifting your mood, and with Director Pi's seal of approval as the cream of the crop, what more needs to be said? I'm going to use this shampoo for life! Oh! I almost forgot to mention one more thing. Unlike some anti-hair loss shampoos that can cause excessive shedding due to intense exfoliation, this one doesn't have that issue at all. It's simply the best of the best! This isn't really a downside for me, but it's something that might divide opinions, so I'll mention it. Right after use, your hair becomes very, very stiff. This phenomenon is called hair hardening - it's a temporary stiffening of the hair strands. It's not that your hair is getting dry, just temporarily harder. Once you dry your hair, it becomes soft again. If you absolutely can't stand this feeling, try applying a tiny bit of conditioner to the ends of your hair. I've noticed some people mentioning that it doesn't lather well. After years of use, here's my technique: Pump once, cup your hands, and massage it into the back of your head in circular motions. Then, pump about half more, cup your hands again, and massage it into your crown area. Trust me, it lathers up beautifully this way! If you're having trouble getting a good lather, definitely give this method a try. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 6, 2019
I've been using this for a month. I had high expectations, but I'm not sure how I feel about it... The texture feels very stiff. I usually skip conditioner or treatment, but with this shampoo, I find myself needing to use conditioner. After use, my scalp doesn't feel thoroughly cleansed. I'm having difficulties using it. Even after drying my hair, it doesn't feel refreshed, and it seems like my hair gets oily faster. For better cleansing effectiveness, I've been shampooing twice or using conditioner alongside it for the sake of my hair texture. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 4, 2019
I decided to try this based on a friend's recommendation, and I found the cleansing effectiveness wasn't bad at all. As someone with oily skin, I noticed it made my skin less greasy, which was pretty good. After washing my hair, it becomes so incredibly stiff that I absolutely have to use rinse or conditioner. It's not just a feeling of hair falling out - it's almost like the hair is breaking off. That's how severe the dryness is. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinApr 9, 2019
It gives your hair that squeaky clean feeling! Plus, it's silicone-free, which is great. It seems to absorb too much oil, leaving your hair feeling stiff and dry. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 24, 2019
My scalp is oily but not seborrheic, with hair loss and severe itching. My skin is prone to chronic acne, combination dehydrated, and rich in dead skin cells. This shampoo calms the itching without triggering acne on the skin. I'm trying to shampoo every other day due to hair loss, and this has enough cleansing effectiveness to use every 1.5 to 2 days. The reduced itching has also improved my hair loss situation. It makes my hair very stiff. Like most natural or gentle shampoos, you'll have to give up on silky, flowing hair. It seems even more effective for hair loss when combined with a jojoba oil scalp massage. If you have an oily scalp like mine, only do it for about five minutes. I noticed pimples appearing when I massaged for longer.
