Spreads incredibly thin! Despite being sheer, it still offers decent coverage! No emphasis on dead skin cells and it adheres perfectly to the skin! Applying two layers helps conceal redness around the nose and any flushing. It's disappointing that there are no refills available! And the fact that there are no physical stores, so you have to order online?! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 18, 2020
Skin adhesion & application: Great for a natural skin look. It doesn't clump or separate even when applied in thin layers multiple times, and it adheres well to the skin from the first application. It's a good cushion for light use to subtly adjust skin tone rather than building up multiple layers. Color: I usually use shade 21 rather than 23, but this product has a light beige that's brighter than 21, making 21 the middle shade. Compared to my usual Hera 21, it has a slight yellow undertone, which helps match my face and neck makeup without looking unnatural, as I'm not particularly fair-skinned. Coverage: As it's thin and applies naturally, it's disappointing in terms of covering blemishes or red spots. Trying to build coverage can emphasize pores and dead skin cells, potentially making rough skin more noticeable. Longevity: It's disappointing that blemishes that were adequately covered become visible again after 2.5-3 hours. It seems to have a slightly oily finish, which tends to wear off with sweat. Skin prep: Before applying the cushion, thoroughly moisturize your skin for better adhesion. After application, setting with a makeup fixer might help improve longevity. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSep 18, 2020
The Hwahae Testers Review Summary: - Requires slight adjustment in application amount - Applies thinly and feels hydrating - Medium coverage - Long-lasting When I first opened it, I applied too much and it clogged my pores. But from the second application, I adjusted the amount and there was no pore-clogging or patchiness. (The initial issue was due to pressing too hard on the new puff, which picked up too much product.) You don't need to adjust the amount much, but since it's new, even one tap can dispense a lot. It's best to remove a bit or tap very gently. It doesn't apply thickly at all. It applies thinly and feels hydrating. The coverage is right in the middle. For reddish blemishes, a faint mark remains, so it's best to cover with concealer. Otherwise, it covers well, and for areas needing more coverage, layering works satisfactorily. It has impressively long-lasting power. While it may vary depending on base or powder use, in summer, even with powder, foundation often comes off due to sweat under the mask. This one stayed on almost completely even after 3-4 hours of continuous mask-wearing without touch-ups. I always finish with powder as I prefer a matte skin finish. Maybe that's why, but there was hardly any transfer onto the mask, so it was convenient not needing touch-ups after removing the mask. I'm sensitive to scents and can't use strongly fragranced cosmetics at all. This cushion's scent isn't strong - it's just right for comfortable use. I usually do my makeup with foundation and use cushions for touch-ups. I tried using it that way, but it didn't blend well with my foundation, possibly due to incompatibility. It didn't work well for touch-ups and caused patchiness... It works wonderfully when used alone. I've been mainly using foundation but recently started looking for a cushion that suits me. I think I might end up purchasing this cushion for regular use. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 18, 2020
As expected from a cushion by the masters of propolis essence, the moisturizing effect is immediately noticeable upon application and lasts for a long time, which is fantastic for someone with dry skin like me! Among the cushions I've tried, I dare say this one has one of the most remarkable cooling effects. The pleasant cooling sensation during application is just a bonus. It applies in an incredibly thin layer, so there's absolutely no heavy feeling. Personally, I was satisfied with how the puff seemed to maximize the glow even more! I loved how the puff didn't feel sticky and applied the product thinly onto the skin without absorbing too much of it. It seems they were aiming for a bright color, but on my skin, it had a slightly ashy undertone. As you apply more, the glow increases, but because the base color itself appears somewhat ashy, the glow can look a bit dull. After applying a base that matches your skin tone beautifully, try very lightly dabbing this cushion on top with a puff. This not only improves the adherence of the base you've applied but also gradually brings out a glow, making your skin look even more beautiful! The essence content must truly be high. As someone who has been using the propolis essence since before its renewal, I can't praise it enough. I recommend using it more for touch-ups rather than as your initial base makeup. For touch-ups, its thin application and non-clumping properties are perfect! For those whose skin tone matches well with this cushion, give it a try this winter! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 17, 2020
- Skin type: Combination oily, dehydrated / Wrinkles, large pores, and excess dead skin cells - Shade: #2 Natural Beige ♡ Pros - The cushion compact is incredibly cute (and I'm usually not one to care about packaging). - The puff is dense, springy, and soft, making it feel great on the skin and seemingly improving adherence. - Applies lightly and thinly without feeling sticky, heavy, or thick. - Keeps skin hydrated all day. - While most essence cushions suffer from darkening and poor longevity, this one only needs a quick touch-up once a day. - I have extremely dull skin and use shade #2. It looks overly bright right after application, but after a short while, it adjusts to match my skin tone perfectly. The complexion enhancement is truly remarkable. - Shade #2 Natural Beige is a true beige or ivory tone, not leaning pink or yellow, making it ideal for those with cooler undertones. - The essence content seems to give the face a subtle glow, making it look vibrant. Unlike other cushions that create a false shine but leave skin dry underneath, this one keeps skin moisturized deep down. - Covers pores well. Almost no pore-settling when applied over primer. - Doesn't accentuate wrinkles. - Barely transfers to masks if you don't apply too much in one go. - Doesn't break down unattractively. ♡ Cons - Not ideal if you're expecting high coverage. While it covers redness well, it doesn't conceal dark spots like melasma, so concealer is necessary. - Requires good exfoliation before application. Can somewhat emphasize dead skin cells. For reference, my previous holy grail cushion was from Jung Saem Mool. However, it didn't brighten my skin as desired, and if I hastily applied it on busy mornings, it looked awful. (Jung Saem Mool's cushion reveals its true potential when applied in thin, multiple layers). I was dissatisfied but couldn't find a replacement until now. Honestly, those who prefer perfect, glamorous, and intense makeup might not love this. But if you want a sheer finish that nicely covers and brightens your skin tone while still looking like your skin, you won't regret trying this. Also, highly recommended for those who need to do their makeup quickly in the morning. I really hope this product becomes a huge hit. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 15, 2020
The Hwahae Testers review: Skin type: Sensitive + Dry with very little oil and prone to blemishes. Application: It applies very thinly and moistly, providing a natural yet radiant coverage. Perhaps due to the full bottle of propolis essence, it gives a beautifully natural glow that makes your skin look gorgeous. It's a glow, not greasiness! I loved how it adheres to the face, providing some coverage without being thick. Coverage: Medium coverage. Usually, moisturizing cushions have lower coverage, but this one has adequate coverage. While it doesn't completely hide blemish marks, it does cover light marks and dark circles. I hardly used concealer with this product. Longevity: For a cushion, the staying power isn't bad. Of course, there might be some individual differences depending on how you prep your base. It also wears off beautifully without caking or pilling. No darkening, and the glow lasts long. Blemishes: I have sensitive skin prone to blemishes, so I'm cautious about irritation. This product wasn't irritating and didn't cause any breakouts. Recommended skin types: Great for sensitive and dry skin, and even suitable for combination dehydrated skin. Not recommended for very oily skin as the glow might feel heavy and greasy. Other positives: I loved how it applies lightly while giving a firm and glowing skin texture. It's great that it covers well and applies thinly without looking cakey. It gives a clean and bright skin look as if you're not wearing makeup! The yellow case and brown puff are cute, reminiscent of bees. It's a great cushion for fall and winter, keeping skin moisturized for a long time without drying out. The downside is that it transfers a lot onto masks. Perhaps because it has a dewy finish rather than a matte one. Also, due to its moisturizing formula, hair tends to stick to it easily. This cushion is great from the start, but it's excellent for touch-ups! When I used a different foundation and my makeup was cakey and messy, touching up with this cushion covered all the patchiness and made it look like the makeup had settled well. Also, since the cushion itself is moisturizing and contains essence, it's best to keep your skincare light and apply it when your skin isn't too oily. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAtopy SkinSep 13, 2020
As one of The Hwahae Testers, here's my review! This cushion was perfect for me since I love products that provide hydration. I don't focus on coverage, but rather on how beautifully it enhances my skin's appearance. When applied thinly, it makes my skin look moisturized and pretty without any dryness-induced cracking. It doesn't make my skin appear thick or float on top. If you apply it thickly for more coverage, it might break down quickly and may not look as flattering. I'm not sure about its longevity as I haven't been out for long periods lately. I'll update on that after more use! Oh, and the case is absolutely adorable and pretty! I looked around and couldn't find any refills available. I'm not sure if they're not released yet or if they don't offer them at all. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 11, 2020
I have skin that usually uses shades 21-22, and shade 2 was perfect for me. Considering it's from the same line as the bestselling essence, I expected an extremely hydrating formula, but it's not that moisturizing. While it does have a basic bouncy texture that holds moisture, if you apply it thinly, the hydration seems to evaporate, leaving a rather matte finish. After setting with powder, it feels like a base that can somewhat withstand mask-wearing. The coverage was decent. I generally prefer a clear, ivory-toned base, but this isn't exactly yellow, nor is it grayish... The color is a bit ambiguous to call it pretty. One thing's for sure though, it's definitely not clear! The formula tends to apply thickly if you're not careful, which might contribute to this impression. However, since controlling the thickness of the base is a matter of personal skill, I don't find it too disappointing. In the 'good points' section above, I mentioned it feels matte as time passes, but this only applies when you've applied it very thinly (plus powder)! On days when I've accidentally applied it too thick, it transfers onto my mask. I think it's because the product itself is a bit sticky (or 'bouncy' to put it nicely). A beautiful base when applied thinly!
