This cushion foundation might just end my search for the perfect one. It's become my absolute favorite! The color payoff and longevity are both excellent. Even when it starts to fade, it does so gracefully without looking patchy. The shade itself isn't particularly brightening, and there's a bit of darkening over time. You'll likely need to touch up throughout the day. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 28, 2021
This product has excellent coverage even though it's not a matte cushion! With proper amount control, you can apply it thinly, and it doesn't cake up much even when layered. The puff works well with it, and the case is so pretty... it's sparkly! I focus on skin appearance, adherence, dryness, and potential blemishes when buying base products. While I still get some blemishes due to my sensitive skin, the skin appearance is truly, truly beautiful! It gives a subtle, not excessive glow that makes your skin look naturally radiant! Dry skin types... you must try this! It tends to cause more blemishes compared to other products. The color has a slightly grayish tone. I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin types! Also not recommended for very dry skin... it's not that hydrating of a product. Make sure to prep your base thoroughly! It will help achieve an even more beautiful glow. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 7, 2021
I'm shade 22 with an olive light undertone. I tried this cushion as a sample when buying a tint, and honestly, it's unique among all the cushions I've used. The texture is quite unusual. It goes on with a dewy finish but sets to a semi-matte. Coverage-wise, for blemish-prone skin, I'd give it 3 out of 5. You can build it up, but it goes on thick rather than sheer. Expect about half a shade of darkening. Romand's signature grayish cast hasn't been improved. Touch-ups are tricky, and after 4-5 hours, it breaks down noticeably, making it very hard to control. It tends to settle into pores and around the nose. No, no... there's nothing good to say... sigh... - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 1, 2021
Summary: Excellent coverage, long-lasting, and absorbs well. May cause slight blemishes for sensitive/oily skin types. It's been a while since I've used a cushion foundation, and I'm really loving this one. This product applies beautifully. Whether you're spreading it for the first time or layering it over existing makeup, it adheres perfectly to the skin. My biggest issue with foundations has always been that after application, my skin texture doesn't look smooth and can appear cracked, but this product clings to the skin seamlessly, creating a flawless complexion. I love how it strikes the perfect balance between hydration and a matte finish. If it's too dewy, it tends to transfer easily, and if it's too matte, it comes with its own set of drawbacks, but this product hits the sweet spot. Even if you're not great at applying makeup, a simple spread evens out your skin tone and covers your entire face cleanly. If I can't find a suitable replacement before this runs out, I'll likely repurchase it. There are quite a few ingredients that might not be ideal for dry, sensitive skin. Perhaps because of this, on days when I wore it for extended periods, I noticed a tiny blemish or two popping up the next day. I suspect this might be due to some pore-clogging ingredients. Also, in terms of color, it seems to have a very slight grayish tint, which made me realize it doesn't create the most flattering skin tone. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinDec 11, 2020
Case: The moment I received it, I thought 'The case is beautiful!' It has this pearlescent, luminous look that's really captivating. Puff: The puff has a slight edge to it, which is great for precisely applying makeup to the contours of your face. Coverage: While I don't usually prioritize coverage when buying cushions, this one offers quite good coverage. It won't completely hide blemishes, but it does a good job concealing most skin imperfections. It doesn't feel heavy though, so I'd recommend it to those who want coverage without that thick makeup feel. Adherence: It adheres really well to the skin when applied. I love that there's minimal transfer even when wearing a mask. In these times when we always need to wear masks, having a base that doesn't rub off is a big plus. Finish: It feels moisturizing at first, but after application, it's closer to a semi-matte finish. Color: I was expecting a pink-based, bright color, but when I received it, it had more yellow undertones and a grayish cast than I anticipated. I was disappointed as I had high hopes for the color. Pore Emphasis and Caking: I was surprised to see that it emphasized my pores when I first applied a thin layer. When I tried to build it up, it left marks on my skin texture and started to cake. It worked a bit better when I applied it over a well-moisturized base in the morning. This product might be more suitable for oily skin types rather than dry skin. For best results, make sure your skin is well-hydrated, use a light hand, and apply thin layers rather than piling on too much product. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinDec 11, 2020
This is one of the products from the Hanbok Project, a collaboration between rom&nd and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation. The concept and purpose behind it made me feel affectionate and excited even before using it. The packaging: It seems the packaging varies slightly depending on the shade, but I really liked the beige, jade-like package that evokes the image of an elegant hanbok. It's an exterior that perfectly matches the Hanbok Project theme. The color: The 01 Pure21 shade is perfect for those with skin tones between 17-21, giving a moderately bright look. I loved that it's not too yellow, but rather a natural rose-tinted color. The puff: The included puff is dense and elastic, and it works well with the product. The scent: While not overpowering, it has a cozy fragrance. Perhaps because it suits my taste, I found it pleasant to use. The application and transfer: It applies smoothly with a moisturizing feel and finishes semi-matte. It spreads thinly with good adherence, making the skin look beautiful right after application. It has a nice glow while seeming to set well without transferring much to masks. While it's not completely transfer-proof, it doesn't come off easily. The coverage: The coverage is pretty good. Personally, I'm not a fan of thick, high-coverage products. I use a separate concealer, and when I apply this cushion in thin layers, it covers most blemishes well. I wish there was a refill option available. While I liked the color and skin appearance right after application, I'm a bit disappointed that it seems to darken slightly over time. It feels like my complexion becomes subtly darker. When I first used it, I applied a bit too much, which led to some lifting after a while. I recommend applying it as thinly as possible and only layering lightly on areas that need more coverage. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 11, 2020
This cushion is more on the matte side rather than being super moisturizing. It's great at covering most blemishes and redness around the nose area! It has a rose scent, which rose fragrance lovers will adore! Personally, I'm not a fan of rose scents, but that's just my preference. When you first apply the cushion, you get a cool sensation along with the rose fragrance! The case has a clean, subtle charm in an ivory color. Those who like simple designs will probably appreciate it. For me, it felt like a middle ground between matte and semi-matte. My benchmark for semi-matte is Estée Lauder Futurist. If you're looking for a matte foundation but don't want it to be too drying, this might be perfect for you! The puff lacks firmness and feels too soft and fluffy. Because of this, the application isn't as smooth as I'd like. When you pat it on, it can apply a bit thick, and when you try to blend it out, it doesn't spread easily, which was disappointing. For a shade 21, it feels a bit dark. It lacks that bright, luminous effect. The color looks naturally pretty when first applied, but it doesn't wear beautifully over time. It seems to darken a bit too. Despite the initial cool essence-like feeling when applied, it's matte and a bit drying. I have particularly dry cheeks, so that might be why I feel this way, but I also can't really notice the glowy finish they claim. If you have dry skin, you might want to apply a rich moisturizer before using this cushion! Also, this cushion looks much prettier when applied in thin layers rather than thick application. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 11, 2020
My skin is combination with dry cheeks and an oily T-zone. I have a light 21 (or 20) skin tone and prefer makeup that's half a shade lighter. I usually use products between shades 17-21. For reference, NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation in Mont Blanc (slightly light) and Espoir Taping Cover Cushion in Vanilla (matches my skin tone) work well for me. Keep this in mind! ✔ The case is so pretty, it lifts my mood just looking at it. The built-in puff has an angled teardrop shape, making it super convenient to apply product to specific areas with the pointed end. ✔ The cooling effect is amazing! I love how it feels cool upon application while providing hydration. Even with just one thin layer, the coverage is medium to high. After application, whether due to the puff or my dry skin, the finish was pleasantly matte. ✔ The color is a safe choice. It's perfect for those with 21 skin tone, giving a natural look that matches your complexion. ✔ Despite its good coverage, it feels lightweight. Usually, high coverage can feel heavy, but not this one. Even when I reapplied to cover some redness that peeked through later, it didn't feel heavy or suffocating at all! It's so light, you feel like you could add more layers. ✔ The skin looked even better as time passed and it blended with natural oils! Right after application, it looked matte, but later it developed a beautiful glow! While I mentioned color and darkening as downsides, that's just my personal experience due to my skin tone. I'd definitely consider buying if a lighter shade becomes available! ❗ The color appeared slightly dark on my skin. It seemed close to my skin tone but a bit darker... Compared to my usual products, it was too natural and slightly dark for my liking. ❗ It significantly emphasizes dead skin cells. I do have quite a bit of flakiness, but I've never had a product highlight it this much. I'll need to focus on thorough skincare before trying again. ❗ There's slight darkening. It's not severe and blends naturally, but it's noticeable. I usually go for lighter makeup to account for darkening, but since this shade isn't light to begin with, the additional darkening made my complexion look a bit dull. This will apply like a dream after exfoliating! - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinDec 10, 2020
Skin type: Very oily, warm undertone, shade 21 Coverage: It does a good job of concealing my large pores in the blush zone. When I look in the mirror after applying, my skin appears clearer. I can see why they named it 'Clear Cushion'. It also effectively covers both yellow and red undertones on my face! Adherence, longevity, and transfer: It doesn't feel heavy or uncomfortable on the skin at all - it's very lightweight. While some grayish tones may appear over time, it doesn't break down in an unsightly way. It's also easy to touch up after a while. There's hardly any transfer - within minutes of application, it adheres so well to the skin that it doesn't come off even when touched. It transfers less to masks too, making it perfect for current times. Design: True to its 'Hanbok Edition' name, the design beautifully captures the elegance of traditional Korean hanbok. It's as if they've translated the silky texture of a hanbok skirt into the packaging. I hope to see more hanbok-inspired products in the future! Room for improvement: While it applies moistly, the finish is matte, which is slightly disappointing. Also, as time passes, a grayish tone emerges, making the skin look a bit darker. Apart from these points, everything else about the design and usage is great!
