Cleansing Effectiveness Effortlessly removes light makeup and sunscreen Waterproof products may require gentle repeated rubbing (recommend using with eye makeup remover for eye makeup) Leaves no residue, cleaning thoroughly → No need to worry about double cleansing! 2. Gentle Ingredients & Skin Irritation Mildly acidic, helping maintain skin balance Gentle with no irritation and non-drying finish (no dryness after cleansing) Suitable for sensitive skin (irritation tested) 3. Texture & Hydration Light, watery texture but feels moisturizing Skin feels comfortable and not tight after rinsing Non-sticky, finishes fresh without feeling heavy 4. Summary of Pros and Cons Pros: Gentle, mildly acidic cleansing for irritation-free use Effectively removes base makeup & sunscreen Cleanses thoroughly without residue while preventing dryness Suitable for sensitive skin types
ConsCons: Recommend using with makeup remover for waterproof mascara and eyeliner Not a pump type, so controlling the amount might be tricky

This product impressed me with its affordable price and great ingredients. It's hydrating, gentle, and slightly acidic, making it perfect for sensitive skin types. I love that it doesn't cause any irritation. Another plus is that it's almost fragrance-free!
ConsThe only downside is that it struggles a bit with cleansing effectiveness when it comes to waterproof products. It doesn't remove them as well as I'd like.

I just hope it never gets discontinued. - I've had so many instances of my skin reacting badly when changing cosmetics, so I usually stick to what I've been using. However, when my dermatologist advised against using my regular cleansing oil, I switched to this water-based cleanser. After trying various products, I finally found my holy grail! - After using it for over two weeks, I noticed a significant reduction in small bumps and my skin texture became much smoother. Unless something drastic happens, I plan to keep using this exclusively.
Cons- As gentle as it is, its cleansing effectiveness is somewhat weak. For heavy point makeup, I recommend using a separate cleansing product (This wasn't a big issue for me as I typically wear light makeup).
TipSoak a cotton pad generously and gently wipe your face! I recommend following up with a light cleansing gel or foam after use.

ConsFor waterproof or eye makeup, it's best to double cleanse!

Before removal // 2. After removing from cheeks // 3. Roughly removed eye makeup // To be honest, I didn't expect much from this cleansing water since they all seem similar, but wow...?? I really liked it. I usually have dry skin, and it gets extremely dry during seasonal changes. With other brands' cleansing waters, my face feels so tight afterwards that I have to apply toner immediately before washing. That's why I'm not a big fan of cleansing waters in general. But Dr.G was definitely different!! It feels incredibly hydrating when removing makeup, and instead of stripping moisture, it actually adds hydration. There's zero skin tightness. Being slightly acidic, it was also very gentle during removal. Usually, my face gets red after cleansing, but with Dr.G, there was no redness at all~ Despite being gentle, it has good cleansing effectiveness, so I can remove eye makeup without worry.
ConsBe careful when using it around your eyes as it can sting and irritate if it gets in!! Also, while it removes eyeliner well, it doesn't work as effectively on mascara..
TipFor eyes with mascara, I prefer using a cotton pad with oil instead of cleansing water!! Everyone says to soak a cotton pad with cleansing water, leave it on for a moment, and then wipe to remove makeup, but that didn't work for me..haha

I usually use waterproof makeup, so I'm quite meticulous when it comes to removing it. I have sensitive combination dehydrated skin that's on the dry side! Here's my review after two weeks of use. My skin is super sensitive, and if I use a product that doesn't agree with me, I immediately break out with red blemishes on my forehead and cheeks. However, Dr.G's Cleansing Water felt incredibly gentle. I was anxious about potential breakouts while cleansing, but none appeared! When I first applied it to a cotton pad, I was surprised by how mild and nearly fragrance-free it was, making the cleansing process comfortable. I use a two-step method: first, I wipe off my eyebrows, foundation, and other makeup, then I go in for a second round, gently massaging around my nose, under the lips, chin, and between the eyebrows. I was amazed to see that it removed the slightly protruding sebum! Most importantly, unlike many products that sting or hurt when removing eye makeup, this Dr.G product caused no discomfort.
ConsIf there's one downside, it's that it doesn't completely remove my mascara. I use a mascara fixer followed by waterproof mascara, which makes it quite stubborn to remove. Unfortunately, Dr.G's Cleansing Water didn't manage to clean it off thoroughly.
TipOverall, I'm thrilled to have found a cleansing water that's gentle yet effective in evening out my skin texture! Here's a tip for those who use waterproof eye makeup like me: use a specialized eye makeup remover first, then follow up with this cleansing water on a cotton pad, gently wiping your face and neck. Since using Dr.G's Cleansing Water, I've noticed a significant reduction in sebum and my skin feels more balanced!

I'm writing this review after using the product as a winner of The Hwahae Testers. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to try it out. ☆ Skin Type I have sensitive skin with severe redness on my cheeks. Because of this, I've only used cleansing oils and lip/eye makeup removers, never trying cleansing water before. I only use toner with cotton pads 2-3 times a week, mostly spraying it on for light absorption. I also have extremely dry skin. In winter, I rely heavily on oils, and currently, I'm layering Physiogel cream multiple times. ☆ Advantages 1. Hydrating It was surprisingly hydrating. Initially, I thought it would be very drying, but it cleansed with a moisturizing feel. Even without immediately washing my face, it maintained hydration without any tightness, which I really appreciated. The skin stays moisturized even when rinsing with water. 2. Gentle My redness-prone areas are very sensitive, and many skincare products sting immediately upon application. However, this product didn't sting at all. I have sensitive eyes due to LASEK surgery and severe dryness, but this product didn't irritate the eye area at all, proving how gentle it is. 3. Fragrance Being fragrance-free made it feel even gentler and easier to use. It gave a clean feeling.
Cons☆ Disadvantages 1. Potential irritation from cotton pad use As it's a cleansing water, you need to use cotton pads to wipe off makeup, which can cause some irritation. You need to wipe multiple times after wearing makeup, which can be more irritating with heavier makeup. 2. Ineffective on heavy eye and lip makeup The instructions say to leave it on the area for a while before wiping, but even after a long time, it didn't remove well. This led to rubbing harder and multiple times, resulting in irritation. Eventually, I stopped using this product for lip and eye makeup removal and switched to a different product (with oil). *Some reviews mention the importance of leaving it on longer, but I couldn't wait and ended up irritating my skin while trying to remove the makeup.
TipI think this product is great for when you're only wearing sunscreen or light makeup, which is common with regular mask-wearing. On a day with heavy fine dust, when I came home (having only applied sunscreen) and used this product, it effectively removed a lot of fine dust particles, leaving my skin feeling clean. While it may not be strong enough for heavy makeup, it's excellent for gently removing fine dust or light makeup, especially during high pollution days. I'll likely continue using it. (The photo below shows makeup removal. Gentle repetition about twice should work well.)

ConsAreas for improvement: Cleansing effectiveness: As I previously used cleansing oil for my first cleanse, this product doesn't quite match up to that level of cleansing power. It struggles to completely remove mascara and long-lasting lip tints Freshness factor: Even after double cleansing, it doesn't leave that crisp, clean feeling. Instead, there's a slight sense of residual moisture While this might actually be better for the skin, I personally prefer that squeaky clean sensation (just my preference!) Value for money: With many budget-friendly options available on the market, the price tag of $22 feels a bit steep
TipThis product is recommended for: - Those who don't regularly wear mascara or heavy makeup - People with skin that's particularly sensitive to certain ingredients

However, the hydration exceeded my expectations! (Note: I usually only did a single cleanse with cleansing water unless I had heavy makeup on) ♥ Gentle formula: Having somewhat sensitive skin, I always opt for gentle products. This one is no exception - it doesn't irritate my super sensitive skin at all! ♥ Pore cleansing: On days when I only wore sunscreen and minimal makeup, I could feel it effectively cleansing my pores!
Cons☆ Makeup removal: The cleansing power was a bit disappointing for heavy makeup, especially mascara and similar products. While it seemed to remove face makeup quite well, it wasn't as effective on mascara or eyeliner.
TipBoth cleansing water and cleansing oil are sufficient for a single cleanse on days with minimal makeup. If you try using this product for just one cleanse, you'll notice how moisturizing it actually is!

I was lucky enough to win this and try it out! Compared to other cleansing waters, it definitely has more hydration. Some cleansing waters can be drying as the water evaporates quickly, but this product leaves your skin feeling moisturized even after cleansing, which I really liked. It's also a low pH cleanser with gentle ingredients, so I was a bit worried about using it on my sensitive skin during this changing season with all the fine dust, but I used it without any blemishes appearing. There's a very slight scent, but it's not from added fragrances - it's just the natural smell of the cleansing water. It's almost unscented, so it doesn't bother me at all. The cleansing effectiveness is decent. While it might struggle a bit with waterproof makeup or mascara, it removes base makeup well and generally cleanses effectively. However, for my skin, I still needed a second cleanse to thoroughly clean my pores. I think the biggest advantage of this product is its hydration. What I liked most was that it didn't leave my skin feeling dry after cleansing.
ConsFor me, there was a slight tingling sensation when cleansing. I was worried it might cause blemishes due to incompatible ingredients, but while it didn't cause any breakouts and I could use it without issues, there was that slight tingling, you know? In other reviews, some people mentioned slight eye irritation, but while I didn't experience that, I did feel a slight tingling on my skin when cleansing. While the cleansing effectiveness is generally good, it's a bit difficult to completely remove point makeup. You'll need a separate remover for that. Also, if you want to thoroughly clean inside your pores, a second cleanse is necessary.
