As someone with dry, redness-prone skin, this cleanser removes makeup well without causing blemishes. While mascara and eyeliner aren't completely removed with the cleansing foam alone, using a cleansing water first followed by the foam seems to have reduced my skin's tendency to break out. There wasn't anything particularly disappointing about this product. If I had to nitpick, the only downside is that its bulky size means I need to decant it into smaller containers for travel. For best results, first remove makeup using cleansing water on a cotton pad, then follow up with the cleansing foam as a second step. - ma*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMar 11, 2025
Recommended for light makeup like sunscreen! It's gentle and removes easily. For heavy eye makeup, a separate remover is absolutely necessary. I use it with a foaming net instead of cleansing foam. It's possible to use it much more hydratingly than regular cleansing foam! - ss******Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedFeb 27, 2025
1. Cleansing Effectiveness Effortlessly removes light makeup and sunscreen Waterproof products may require gentle repeated rubbing (recommend using with eye makeup remover for eye makeup) Leaves no residue, cleaning thoroughly → No need to worry about double cleansing! 2. Gentle Ingredients & Skin Irritation Mildly acidic, helping maintain skin balance Gentle with no irritation and non-drying finish (no dryness after cleansing) Suitable for sensitive skin (irritation tested) 3. Texture & Hydration Light, watery texture but feels moisturizing Skin feels comfortable and not tight after rinsing Non-sticky, finishes fresh without feeling heavy 4. Summary of Pros and Cons Pros: Gentle, mildly acidic cleansing for irritation-free use Effectively removes base makeup & sunscreen Cleanses thoroughly without residue while preventing dryness Suitable for sensitive skin types Cons: Recommend using with makeup remover for waterproof mascara and eyeliner Not a pump type, so controlling the amount might be tricky - em*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 27, 2024
For combination dehydrated skin + super sensitive skin (with blemishes and blemish marks): I think this is the gentlest product that works best for me among cleansing waters. As someone with combination dehydrated and sensitive skin, I've found that cleansing oils and balms can irritate my skin and cause blemishes, while cleansing milks don't cleanse effectively, leaving my face itchy. However, this Dr.G Cleansing Water doesn't cause any irritation or redness on my skin. I like that it removes makeup cleanly when I layer it a few times. The downside is that it doesn't remove makeup well with just one or two applications, so you need to use quite a bit of product and cotton pads. But this is because the ingredients are so gentle, which is actually a good thing. I think it works great with the Olive Young Pillimilli cotton pads! - sg****Dry SkinDead Skin CellsRecommendedJul 16, 2024
I liked using it because it wasn't drying. It worked well for me without any issues. It was great for scrubbing thoroughly during cleansing. There wasn't anything particularly disappointing about it. - ju*****Dehydrated SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 26, 2024
I use this for removing base makeup, not color cosmetics. For color makeup, you should use a separate lip and eye remover. I have redness on my cheeks, but when I use this, there's no additional redness, which suggests it's not irritating. I'm taking off one star because of the scent. Usually, I don't care about fragrance if the skincare performance is good, but this one has such an artificial smell. - pk*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJan 18, 2024
I love how gentle it is! I'm using it in a pump bottle, which seems to make it even less irritating. The scent isn't overpowering, but it's not really my style. I felt a slight dryness after using it. Since I have redness, I've been told that using it as a foam cleanser from a pump bottle is less irritating than wiping with a cotton pad. I'm using it this way now, and it's much gentler and better for my skin. - sh****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 6, 2023
I don't wear makeup often, but I consider cleansing very important, so I use a cleansing water. I only use this product. It removes makeup thoroughly and leaves my skin feeling clean even after washing, which is why I use it. I love that there's minimal deep dryness after cleansing. It also doesn't leave any sticky residue. There aren't really any downsides, so it's hard to find fault with it. If I had to nitpick, maybe I could say it doesn't have a fragrance? - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 23, 2023
I'm on my nth bottle because it's gentle and has excellent cleansing effectiveness. As for any downsides... I honestly can't think of any! It's great for the first step of cleansing - just apply it to a cotton pad and wipe thoroughly, and your skin is almost completely clean. - nl*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedNov 5, 2023
This would be great to use after a simple skincare routine when washing your face Due to its light water-based formula, it doesn't effectively remove mineral sunscreen or long-lasting makeup
