This is my honest review after purchasing with my own money. I'm not entirely sure about my skin type. Sometimes products I've been using consistently cause issues, other times they make me itchy. New products might cause blemishes immediately, but then be fine the next day. It's that kind of skin. I have super sensitive skin, but I'm not sure which ingredients I'm sensitive to or what doesn't agree with me. My skin is combination dehydrated. It's extremely dry, but gets oily over time. I just bought this today and have only applied it once. I plan to use it for about a week and then post another review. I'm not sure about the hydration, but it feels rich. I'm not certain how well it absorbs... I had to really work it into my skin. About 30 minutes after applying, I started feeling slight itching in various spots. In conclusion!!! The good points are still... After applying, I experienced itching in various areas. The rich texture... The tube is smaller than I expected. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 1, 2021
It feels moisturizing and seems gentle on sensitive skin. It's not too rich in oils. After trying it, my skin felt a bit itchy. Those with super sensitive skin should be cautious. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 12, 2021
It absorbs well and feels moisturizing without being sticky, which I really like. It has a bit of a rich texture, so those with very dry skin might experience some itching. It pairs nicely with a watery toner, creating a great combination for my skin. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 23, 2020
During dry seasons, the cream texture feels rich when applied. As I was putting it on, I thought to myself, 'This should definitely smooth out those fine lines caused by dehydration.' I bought this as an alternative since shea butter doesn't agree with my skin, but it made my face itch so I had to wash it off. Not wanting to waste it, I tried using it on my elbows, but it was so heavy that it wouldn't absorb. When I put on clothes, it felt like my arms were sticking to them. I wondered if I'm just unlucky enough to always pick products that don't suit me, so I made an Excel sheet to analyze ingredients. I discovered that 'squalane' is a problem for me in other products too. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I'm sensitive to shea butter, squalane, arginine, centella asiatica, and hyaluronic acid. It feels like I've spent a fortune figuring this out, and even products without these ingredients might not work for my super sensitive skin. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinSep 14, 2020
It's moisturizing, soft, and hydrating. It applies smoothly and leaves the skin feeling supple and well-hydrated. The lack of fragrance makes application a bit monotonous. I ended up using too much without realizing how precious it was, slathering it on carelessly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 7, 2020
I bought this product based on Hwahae reviews and recommendations from skincare forums. I thought Physiogel didn't suit me because DMT felt too greasy and itchy. However, this product doesn't contain shea butter, so I decided to give it a try. Reviews mentioned it helps with dryness and reduces skin heat, which seemed like a ray of hope for my winter skin issues - folliculitis, seborrheic dermatitis, and atopic dermatitis all at once. It's likely excellent for those with atopic skin and those with a compromised skin barrier. However, it hasn't quite resolved my folliculitis yet. While it's difficult to treat inflammation with skincare alone, this cream causes less itching than other products when applied, so I continue to use it. You can purchase it cheaper through direct overseas buying, but it seems to be more widely available in stores these days. It might be great for those who don't react well to shea butter or those with oily skin experiencing deep dryness. If you apply too much, it can feel extremely rich. While it doesn't cause itching, it feels like it creates an oily film on the skin that can pill off like dead skin when touched. Some might find this uncomfortable. However, when applied to dry skin, you'll feel a cooling sensation as it hydrates. If you have oily skin, use only a small amount! The downsides are that it's only cheaper if you buy it directly from overseas, which means a long wait. Also, the expiration date is shorter compared to other brands, so you need to use it up quickly. When I want to feel more hydration, I mix this cream with aloe gel! It provides extra moisture and feels less heavy on the skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 3, 2020
I liked that it didn't apply too thickly or feel heavy on the skin. I usually don't get blemishes easily no matter what I use, so I tried this sample I got from buying over $40 worth of products at Olive Young. The next day, I noticed red spots all over my cheeks and chin. At first, I didn't think it was because of this product, so I washed my face and applied it again. But it started itching terribly. When I looked in the mirror, I was shocked to see more red spots appearing, so I quickly washed my face again. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJan 1, 2020
It absorbs well into the skin. After application, it doesn't feel overly oily. It doesn't seem to improve blemishes or have a calming effect. After applying, my sensitive skin feels a bit itchy. It might be good to use a small amount during winter. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 27, 2019
This product is a staple on my vanity. My skin tends to get red easily, itches frequently, and becomes painfully dry with folliculitis if not cared for properly. Most cosmetics lead me straight to contact dermatitis when applied. Incompatible products usually sting, tingle, or itch, damaging my skin barrier. It's especially unbearable when it feels like ants are crawling under my skin - sadly, most products give me this sensation. However, this one provides hydration without those issues, which is why I keep repurchasing it whenever I run out. Occasionally, it can trigger blemishes, so I pause usage when that happens. While it usually agrees with my skin, it sometimes causes redness or itching. In those cases, I stop for a few days and then resume, which brings back the original feel. There is a bit of richness to it, but for those with very dry and sensitive skin, that's hardly a concern. What matters is whether it can moisturize without causing discomfort. However, depending on skin condition, it can sometimes make skin itchy after a while. When that happens, I rewash and start my routine over, or take a break from the product for a few days before coming back to it. It doesn't always address deep dryness effectively. If I notice this when using it alone, I use other products to tackle the deep dryness before applying this one. The key is that it doesn't cause me distress. When skin issues arise, I sometimes use Bepanthen instead of steroids. But Bepanthen's texture is really unpleasant - it's too sticky, and you need to apply quite a bit for it to soothe itching like steroids do. Try mixing Bepanthen, Physiogel, and a gel together. This combination eliminates Bepanthen's stickiness and heaviness, Physiogel's slight oiliness, and the watery feel of the gel. You're left with only the benefits of each product - itch relief, hydration, moisture replenishment, skin cooling, and so on. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 5, 2019
First off, this isn't just a hydrating cream, it's a moisturizing powerhouse. Its moisture-locking abilities are top-notch. I'd recommend this to anyone in need of serious hydration, especially if shea butter doesn't agree with your skin or if silicone oils aren't your thing. Oh boy... While it has its merits, it seems my skin and this product just aren't on the same page. It's causing blemishes and making my skin itch. Not to mention, there's this odd milky scent that I'm not a fan of. Plus, it's a bit of a hassle to get hold of in Korea as it's only available through international shipping. The packaging makes it tricky to control how much product you're using, and for the price, you don't get a whole lot of product.
