No thick or artificial white cast here! It naturally brightens your skin like you've applied a brightening moisturizer. I love the fluid texture (less likely to cause blemishes). No eye irritation at all. I needed a sunscreen for those awkward times when you're not sure whether to wear makeup because of masks, and this product fits the bill perfectly. If you dab a tiny bit of cushion foundation on top in certain areas, you've got an incredibly natural-looking makeup finish. For a mineral sunscreen, it's surprisingly gentle on the skin. I've been using it for a week with no blemishes so far. I'll need to use it a bit longer to gauge its sun protection effectiveness. I'll update my review after a month of use. It leaves a slight white powder residue. That infamous scent is quite strong, but my allergies make it less noticeable. You need to shake it vigorously, which can make your arms ache. It's extremely drying for winter use - daily application can lead to dead skin cells (might be better in summer?). The caprylic ingredient might be causing a slightly stuffy, film-like feeling on the skin, but the benefits make it tolerable. Even after using cleansing oil, it seems to leave a residue, so exfoliation is a must. The entire Kakadu line seems great, but I couldn't even test the cream due to stearic acid. If anyone from Aromatica is reading this, please make a moisturizer without that ingredient - I'd love to use the entire Kakadu line! Applying sunscreen with a silicone puff reduces that characteristic stuffy feeling compared to using your hands. The Espoir silicone puff is fantastic - why don't they sell more of those? - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 28, 2021
As someone with super sensitive, acne-prone skin, I've only used this for two days, but it doesn't seem to make my skin oilier or cause more blemishes. Usually, when a product doesn't suit me, I can see oil gathering in my pores within a few hours, but that's not happening with this one. However, I'll need to use it for a few more days to be sure. It doesn't sting my eyes at all! Many reviews mention a strong scent, but oddly enough, it doesn't bother me much. I'm usually very sensitive to smells, but this just has a kind of medicinal scent that doesn't put me off. While it does leave a white cast, it also brightens the complexion, making it great for a foundation-free daily routine. Why does this make my face so dry? It feels like the white powder from the mineral sunscreen is absorbing all the oil and moisture from my skin. It's incredibly drying. If I brush my teeth after applying this, I can see the white powder wiped off around my mouth! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAug 3, 2021
I love that it doesn't sting my eyes. It doesn't make you excessively white, just gives a subtle brightening effect, so it's comfortable to use. Even if you layer it multiple times, it doesn't pill. In summer, my T-zone becomes an oil slick. These days, due to masks, the area around my mouth has so many dead skin cells... While this product isn't completely matte, when oil builds up on the T-zone later, it feels like it's sliding off and getting shiny. You can reapply on the go, but it's not ideal for oily skin. Also, on days when my mouth area has severe flaking, nothing sticks to it, including this product, unfortunately. Applying thin layers multiple times improves its longevity. If you apply too much at once, it feels like it's sitting on top of the skin.
