I love that it's fragrance-free! I was worried it might be too oily, but it absorbs completely over time, leaving no greasy residue - just soft, supple skin. It doesn't feel dry at all! The initial application might seem a bit rich, but it doesn't feel heavy once it settles in. It's incredibly gentle - I can apply a generous amount without any irritation. As someone with super sensitive skin that reacts to even a change in water, I'm thrilled that this doesn't cause any breakouts or adverse reactions.
ConsThere aren't really any significant drawbacks, but if I had to nitpick, it might feel a bit like it's sitting on top of the skin at first. However, this isn't really a con since it absorbs over time. If you apply it hastily without letting your toner absorb properly, it might pill a bit, but continued massaging helps it absorb just fine.
TipI recommend applying a generous amount at night - even with a thick layer, you won't wake up with any residue on your skin the next morning!

It didn't cause any blemishes, making it suitable for sensitive skin types. I have extremely dehydrated yet oily skin, which is a major concern for me. Surprisingly, the Nautically Calming Balm was effective in addressing my deep dryness. When I applied it before bed, it kept my skin incredibly moisturized. I particularly loved how my skin felt slightly plumper and more elastic in the morning after using this product. In terms of skin soothing, hydration, and compatibility with sensitive skin, I think this is an excellent product.
ConsOne drawback is that it's a bit rich. For those with oily skin, it might feel slightly heavy or sit on top of the skin. If you have oily skin, you should keep this in mind! While it doesn't absorb exceptionally well, I do appreciate that it keeps the skin moisturized for a long time after application.
TipOverall, while those with oily skin might need to tolerate a slightly heavy feeling, the Nautically Calming Balm lives up to its name. It's particularly beneficial for those with combination dehydrated skin. I received this as part of The Hwahae Testers program, and I'm considering purchasing it again in the future.

I was surprised when the shipping label said 'sticker pack', but the product arrived with adorable stickers and a postcard explaining how to use it. I appreciated how they simplified the product design while enhancing the nautical brand aesthetic, making it user-friendly. The blue packaging is really beautiful. Upon opening the inner seal, there's a subtle almond scent, almost unscented. It might be due to the rich texture... but it's barely noticeable and didn't bother me at all during use. The texture is like a buttery balm. It feels slightly slick and oily when applied, but it absorbs quickly, leaving only a moisturized feeling! It spreads incredibly well, and the cream's thin, even application makes it easy to control the amount used. After applying toner and essence, I only used this calming balm. Even without additional products, it maintained a deeply hydrated feeling for 6-8 hours overnight. I'm amazed at how such lightweight ingredients can deliver this level of performance - it seems like an excellent product. Especially since I have very oily skin in my T-zone and butterfly zone, which usually gets greasy with most products, this one didn't have that effect, which I loved. I felt it could be a go-to item for solving skin concerns from the changing seasons through winter! I would repurchase. I'm glad to have discovered such a good product. Great stuff!
ConsIt feels heavy for summer use. While those with oily skin can use it, applying it too thickly can make it feel greasy on the surface. It seems you need to be careful with the amount applied.
TipAfter addressing dryness with a water-based toner, essence, or toner pad, apply this product thinly and casually once. The moisturizing effect is more than sufficient with just a thin layer!

It has an excellent effect on soothing the skin. In a short period, it calms the skin while reducing redness, blemishes, and improving skin texture. Despite its thick consistency, the application isn't unpleasant. Rather than applying directly to the face, it's best to scoop out some product onto your palm, warm it up by rolling it between your fingers, and then apply it to your face for better absorption. Usually, after applying a thick soothing cream and sleeping, you wake up with an explosion of excess oil. However, with the Calming Balm, you can feel that it leaves behind a moisture barrier rather than excessive oiliness from the night before.
ConsAs expected from a soothing cream, it's quite thick and doesn't absorb quickly, giving a feeling of sitting on top of the skin. Although it gradually absorbs with continued rolling, the absorption rate is slower compared to other soothing creams. Perhaps due to the shea butter ingredient, I experienced some blemishes upon first use. It might be best to start with a small amount and gradually increase as your skin adapts. There's a rubber-like scent typical of soothing creams. While the fragrance itself isn't strong, it wasn't to my liking. The price isn't particularly budget-friendly considering the amount of product.
TipI have combination dehydrated skin, and my routine was (Riddle Shot 300) - Torriden Hyaluronic Acid Serum - COSRX Retinol 0.1 - Kiehl's Moisturizer & Nautically Calming Balm. I only added one soothing cream to my existing products, but it maximized the effects of the other products! When using the Calming Balm alone in the cream step, it may not absorb well and you might feel a lack of hydration. However, mixing it 1:1 with a moisturizer worked perfectly. For those with oily skin, the rich texture might be excessive, so I recommend mixing a small amount with your moisturizer. Given that it's a thick and heavy soothing cream, it's best to use it only for nighttime care.

Unlike other thick soothing balms, this one applied smoothly and felt hydrating. Even when I applied a generous amount, it didn't irritate my skin and felt comfortable.
ConsIt didn't absorb well into my skin and seemed to sit on the surface. While it didn't cause any irritation or blemishes, the soothing effect wasn't particularly strong either.
TipIt's a decent night cream for when your face feels dry!

As someone with combination dehydrated skin that tends to get red rather than tan when exposed to sunlight for long periods, I found this particularly helpful. This summer has been extremely hot with significant temperature fluctuations, leaving my skin quite sensitive. I applied this after cleansing in the evening, and it worked wonders in calming the redness. The almost fragrance-free formula is also great for those with sensitivities to scents, making it widely accessible.
ConsGiven that it's not a cream formulation, it might be a bit much for daily use in the current season. If you apply more than the recommended amount, it absorbs well initially but can feel slightly surface-level afterwards. I'd suggest applying a small amount as the final step in your nighttime skincare routine after other products. For those with oily skin, it might be better suited for winter use.
TipAfter your skincare routine, apply a small amount all over your face, with a bit extra on areas that need soothing. This seems to create a synergistic effect for skin regeneration. I definitely noticed a clear before-and-after difference in the morning!

However, it does a great job at reducing redness. When I applied it to my irritated, red face in the evening, by the next morning, the redness had completely disappeared!
ConsMaybe because it was nighttime, or because I have combination dehydrated skin that tends to be oily, I noticed some small blemishes appearing. It didn't feel like it was absorbing deeply, but rather sitting on the surface. Later on, I noticed it mixing with my skin's natural oils.
TipWhile it may not cause dramatic changes, I think frequent use could help reduce redness. If you have oily skin, a cream might be better than using this at night.

It has a somewhat rich emulsion-like texture. Since it doesn't absorb instantly, you can cover your entire face with just a small amount. It starts off feeling like it's sitting on top of the skin, but as it absorbs, it becomes incredibly nourishing. The next morning, my complexion looks noticeably brighter.
ConsPersonally, I prefer products that absorb quickly, so I found it a bit disappointing that it takes some time to sink in.
TipOnce absorbed, there's hardly any stickiness, and in the morning my skin feels deeply hydrated. I think it would work well mixed with a brightening serum for added benefits.

It's not exactly lightweight, but it has a nice rich texture while still absorbing well. It's incredibly hydrating without being overly sticky. Given its excellent moisturizing properties, it seems more suitable for winter than summer. I've only used it for a few days, so I can't speak to its soothing effects just yet. I really love that it comes in a tube, making it easy to dispense and hygienic to use! It's also simple to control the amount. The stickers that came with it are cute too!
ConsIt seems quite rich, so be careful not to apply too much or it might not absorb fully. Controlling the amount is crucial! While I found it nicely hydrating, those with oily skin might struggle with it during summer.
TipWhen applied after cleansing, it leaves your skin feeling hydrated and moisturized without any deep dryness!
