The Calming Balm has absolutely no smell (I recommend it for those experiencing morning sickness!) ✔️Absorption I expected a thick texture since it's a soothing balm, but it was closer to a hydrating cream! I have combination skin that's extremely sensitive and tends to get dry and flaky during seasonal changes and winter... Although it's recommended as a night care product, I think it could work well for those with dry skin as a light pre-makeup moisturizer. ✔️Barrier improvement After damaging my skin barrier with a misused peeling gel, my skin was red and irritated. But after applying a thick layer (about the size of a dime) for 3 nights, I could see my damaged skin barrier improving!
Cons✔️Soothing effect... I didn't experience the soothing effect I was most looking forward to... While it helped reduce skin heat, it didn't have much effect on redness and skin flare-ups. I wouldn't recommend it for those looking for a regenerating cream. ✔️Hydration As a night cream, I couldn't really feel the moisturizing effect. I'd recommend it for summer, but it lacks hydration for winter use. It feels more like it's creating a layer on top of the skin rather than deeply moisturizing...
Tip🍀Try mixing it with Madecassol powder! Skin barrier improvement + blemish soothing = excellent skin condition

Skin type: Adult acne-prone, deep dryness, low sensitivity Texture: Initially, I was worried it might be too thick due to the 'balm' in the product name, but it wasn't as heavy as I expected. The texture is somewhere between a rich moisturizer and a soothing cream. Application: The application is just average - neither exceptionally good nor bad, typical of a standard cream. Absorption: What I loved most about this product was its absorption. As someone who dislikes patting products in, I really appreciated how quickly it absorbed into my skin. Soothing and Hydration: While it didn't help with acne, it worked wonders for my deep dryness! I felt like applying this product alone after toner was sufficient. Sensitivity: Though I'm not particularly sensitive, I could definitely tell this product was gentle. There's a slight cooling effect upon application, which felt just right. Scent: To me, it seemed colorless and odorless.
Cons- Excessive use of bubble wrap packaging - Not specifically formulated for acne, so it didn't have much effect on blemishes - Relatively expensive for the amount of product
TipRecommended for: - Those who want to complete their skincare routine with just one product - People with super sensitive skin who can't use just anything Not recommended for: - If you don't have sensitive skin, I'd suggest opting for more cost-effective products - If you're hoping for acne relief, I'd recommend trying other targeted treatments instead

Even though I have extremely oily skin, it doesn't feel sticky after application. It's not too heavy when first applied, and it gives my skin a nice, firm feeling. Usually, when I wake up in the morning, my face is covered in excess oil, but with this product, there's much less. It's great at balancing oil and moisture levels. I think I'm starting to understand what it means to have a healthy skin barrier - my skin feels nourished right down to its deeper layers. I'm planning to buy the Calming Emulsion for daily use too! When autumn comes, my skin usually becomes incredibly dry and my moisture barrier completely breaks down, but I think this Calming Balm will be a real lifesaver. Highly recommended!
ConsThere's nothing particularly negative to say... While it's quite pricey for the amount you get, given how effective it is, I'll probably buy another one for winter.

Skin Type: I have combination and super sensitive skin. Product Packaging: The sturdy tube design made it very convenient to use! I especially appreciated that there was no risk of it bursting or leaking. Scent: I liked that this product doesn't have any noticeable fragrance. It made me think it would be gentle and suitable for sensitive skin. Texture: The texture is somewhere between a rich cream and a balm, with a slightly powdery feel. Since it's not a runny formula, I took care to massage it in well for better absorption! Hydration: The moisturizing effect lasted for quite a long time, keeping my skin feeling hydrated. My skin had been quite dry lately, but this cream definitely helped combat the dryness. Irritation: As someone with sensitive skin, I was worried, but I'm happy to report there was no irritation at all! I applied it when my skin was on the verge of acting up, and while the effect wasn't dramatically instant, I could still feel it helping to soothe my skin.
ConsRich Texture: Given its strong moisturizing power, it does feel a bit rich, which led to some shininess around my nose area as time passed. You'll need to adjust the amount you apply accordingly. For those with oily skin, this might be better suited for winter use. Price: The price point is a bit on the higher side, which is slightly disappointing.
TipI mainly focused on massaging the product into drier areas like the outer parts of my face and cheeks, ensuring good absorption. Then, I used only the remaining amount on my hands for areas that produce more oil, like around the nose and forehead!

My skin type: Combination leaning towards oily, excess sebum in the T-zone, but no dead skin cells. Blackheads have been a long-time complex, and skin flare-ups during my period are so stressful! What I particularly liked: I'd been searching for a cica balm for nighttime care when I got this Calming Balm. After using it consistently for about 10 days, what struck me most was that 'it doesn't sting even on broken skin' and 'it's so gentle, even when applied thickly, no blemishes at all!' I don't have acne all over my face, but I occasionally get huge pimples near my nose, between my brows, and on my forehead. Even when applying gentle skincare, it would always sting and become inflamed, which was quite troublesome. But with this Calming Balm, I could apply it generously on pimples without any pain - it was so soothing! I felt much more at ease using this compared to other products. I could actually see angry, yellow pimples gradually calming down without even having to pop them (Sorry if that's gross... but it was truly revolutionary for me). Standout product features: Some reviews mentioned it smells like Vaseline, and it really does! Before trying this cica balm, I used to mix powdered Madecassol into other creams (pharmacist's tip: adding powdered Madecassol to cream makes it a regenerating cream... but use only a small amount due to potential resistance!). It has that functional, medicinal scent - like Vaseline or Madecassol. It's also slightly powdery, which I liked, though I noticed many people disliked the scent. Personally, I'd probably dislike it if they added any other fragrances. It's just right as it is - not too overpowering.
ConsWhat could be improved: Some people don't recommend it for oily skin types, saying 'Don't use it!' It's true that it's quite rich. Some might find it heavy... But I used it generously as a night treatment and followed up with an oil blotting sheet mask, so the richness didn't bother me. If it were just a bit cheaper, I'd stock up on it! I think it's easily in the top 3 of cica balms!!!!! The price makes me hesitate though...
TipSummary: 1. OK for combination or oily skin that isn't prone to breakouts (like mine) to use a thin layer during the day. Oily skin types that break out from rich products should use it only for night care. 2. For night care, apply a thick layer then put a Daiso green tea oil blotting sheet over your whole face for less than 5 minutes. When you remove it, the excess oil is gone but the effects remain. This is called an 'oil sheet pack'. 3. If not using it this way, oily skin types shouldn't apply it thickly all over. Instead, apply generously on blemishes for better soothing effects. Personally, I found this product to be a solid, reliable choice...

I've used it consistently every day without any concerns. • So far, I haven't experienced any milia with this product. • It also shattered my preconception that balms are thick and don't spread thinly. • The texture is closer to a cream, and even a small amount spreads smoothly and evenly over a large area. • In summer, when the humidity drops even slightly, my skin gets dry, causing irritation and bumps (like eczema) around my mouth. But now, even with the air conditioner on all day at home, I have no issues at all. • I thought it might be due to other cosmetics I use, but even when I switched them, my skin never became dry or problematic. 🆘 I highly recommend this to those suffering from dry skin. • I'm flying to the US next Saturday, and I'm definitely packing this, trusting it will protect my skin during two weeks in the desert.
ConsSo far, I'm in love with this product and have no complaints, but the price is a bit steep for the amount you get.
Tip• I typically layer my skincare, but with this product, applying a second layer can make it appear slightly white on the surface. • However, if you haven't applied too much, it quickly absorbs, providing intense hydration. • I wouldn't recommend this for oily skin types.

The microbiome is a collection of skin microorganisms that regulate skin pH, immune responses, and provide nutrition. However, when the microbiome balance is disrupted due to environmental factors or lifestyle changes, it can lead to various skin issues like flushing, excess sebum production, deep dryness, and a burning sensation. That's why this Nautically Calming Balm works to balance the microbial environment, enhancing the effectiveness of skincare ingredients! Now, let me share the advantages I personally experienced: - Outstanding soothing ability: I could definitely feel the difference before and after using this product. Lately, with high UV indexes, my skin would always turn red and sting after outdoor activities, no matter what I applied during my evening skincare routine. But after using this product, I noticed a significant reduction in redness and tingling! - Perfect balance of hydration and richness: Being a balm, I was worried it might be too rich without enough hydration, but that wasn't the case at all! It immediately gave a feeling of locking in moisture. On days when my skin was super sensitive, I only used toner followed by this product, and I didn't feel any dryness at all! I actually felt more hydrated than when using multiple other products, so I think even those with dry skin would be satisfied with this.
Cons- Potential for blemishes: Since it's not completely oil-free, it did clog my pores a bit and caused some blemishes to appear. (I've marked these with blue circles in the photo.) However, the soothing effects were so significant that I'd be interested in trying a cream version of this product if available! - Volume and price: At 60ml, it's not the most generous amount, and it's a bit on the pricier side. I might consider purchasing it mainly when it's on sale.
TipAs mentioned in the advantages, on days when your skin is really sensitive, try applying just a layer or two of this product after toner. You'll likely notice the soothing effects by the next day!

Not particularly greasy even for oily skin. (Not too heavy) Has a rich feel but applies thinly. No irritation, itching, or redness for acne-prone skin. Fragrance-free.
Cons[One-week usage review] Developed small blemishes in areas with pores. (Possibly due to clogged pores) Less hydrating compared to Madecassoside cream. Didn't notice significant improvement in skin texture or soothing effects. Small quantity and expensive..
TipApplied multiple layers for standalone use!

It's partly to reduce luggage, but also to minimize potential skin sensitivity from sudden environmental changes. I only bring versatile products that are gentle on my skin. This cream is perfect for travel. After a long day, when you're tired and don't want to apply multiple products, this cream is all you need. Its absorbs well and provides ample hydration with just a quick application before bed. After using it morning and night for two weeks, while I can't say it dramatically improved my skin texture, I did notice my skin felt softer. Another plus is that it's moisturizing without feeling heavy or suffocating on the skin.
ConsEverything's great except the price. The amount you get for the price is too small. Since you can bring up to 100ml on flights, it would be nice if they offered 100ml at this price point.
TipFor those with oily skin, I recommend applying a thin layer all over, then adding another light layer just on dry areas.

One application is enough to balance oil and moisture, even for combination dehydrated skin (truly impressive) 2. Noticeable improvement in rough, bumpy skin that hadn't calmed down for months (applause-worthy) 3. Fragrance-free and travel-friendly - you can take the full-size product on trips! Recently, I struggled for months with something on my face that wasn't quite dermatitis or blemishes. <I saw definite results in just one week> The before-and-after reviews on the product page weren't exaggerated - they were the real deal... I had been trying every soothing ampoule, cream, and mask I could get my hands on, but nothing seemed to work. When I read that it was created for a diver's wife, I felt the sincerity and decided to give it a shot, using it faithfully every morning and night. Even with a moderate amount, the oil and moisture balance was so good that I didn't feel any dryness. I've already experienced the effects firsthand... I'd describe this as a product that's just waiting to be repurchased! The price might seem a bit high, but I'll definitely buy it again when I run out. Please develop more great products, Nautically❤️
ConsIf I had to find a downside, it would be that the price is a bit on the higher side.
