Skin type: Combination, acne scars, enlarged pores Review after using for about a month Coverage: ★★★★★ The coverage is the best I've experienced among all the cushions I've used. It gives a semi-matte finish after application and conceals almost all blemishes, making the skin look flawless. Longevity: ★★★★☆ When applied at 7 AM and checked at 6 PM after work, it held up well except for some slight fading in areas where I blotted oil. Didn't feel the need for touch-ups. Adherence: ★★★★☆ It feels like it's melting into the skin when applied. However, it tends to come off easily on oily areas right after application, so I recommend either setting it with powder afterwards or blotting your face with oil-absorbing sheets before applying. I've been using it for about a month and haven't experienced any blemishes. After application, it tends to accentuate facial peach fuzz, and the overall skin finish is slightly disappointing. This would be great to use from late spring through summer. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 18, 2025
I've tried both Giverny foundations - the liquid and the cushion. The cushion has better coverage and a more matte finish. It adheres really well to the skin. While the coverage is good, it can feel a bit heavy. The matte finish makes it slightly challenging to apply smoothly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 28, 2025
Reason for purchase: I was looking for a gentle cushion foundation and heard Giverny was mild, so I decided to buy it. Application: As it's a matte cushion, those with dry skin might feel some dryness when using it in winter. Coverage: It provides good coverage without feeling heavy on the skin. Recommended for oily skin types. Great coverage. I really struggled with my skin after using this cushion. I'm quite sensitive to cosmetics (especially cushions and sunscreens). From early December, after using this cushion, I developed contact dermatitis as a side effect. For a month, I couldn't figure out the cause, but as the itching, heat, and redness continued to spread down my neck, I decided to see a doctor. At the hospital, the doctor scolded me a bit. He said that leaving skin in this condition for so long could lead to chronic issues. If it had been like this for a month, treatment would take a month; if it had been four months, treatment would take four months. So I stopped using the cushion I had been using for a month and a half, took medication prescribed by the hospital, and continued treatment for a month and a half. Now, while taking medication, I'm not completely cured (skin condition and itchiness return when my immune system is weak). If you use this cushion and experience hives, breakouts, or itching, I recommend stopping use immediately and switching to a different product. It's not that this cushion is bad, it just didn't suit me. However, I recommend those with sensitive skin use a different cushion. (I've gone back to the Giverny cushion I used initially) For those with hot and dry skin, use a face mist - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinDec 22, 2024
This is the first cushion foundation I've settled on! The adherence and longevity are excellent, and the coverage seems to be medium to high. Even though I usually experience flaking when using slightly matte cushions due to dryness, I've rarely had that issue with this one. Surprisingly, it even works well in winter when I ensure a solid skincare base. For those with extremely dry skin, it might be best to use this only as a summer cushion. Also, it's not entirely free from darkening over time. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 15, 2024
Combination skin leaning towards dry / Shade 17-19 / Cool undertone ■ Skin appearance Despite my T-zone usually getting quite oily, I loved how this cushion applied smoothly all over! It gives a semi-matte finish. ■ Thickness Even though it's a slightly matte cushion, you can achieve a thin layer if you control the amount well! ■ Coverage While many reviews mention good coverage... it's not as high as I expected!! It conceals small blemishes, but doesn't cover large blemishes, uneven texture, and dark spots very well. ■ Transfer-proof Being semi-matte, it really doesn't transfer much at all!! ■ Scent I'm usually sensitive to fragrances, but this cushion has a subtle, pleasant scent that reminds me of a peaceful forest. ■ Darkening The darkening is too severe... Initially, it matches my skin tone, but after some time, it becomes more than a shade darker than my natural skin color. ■ Ingredients, Dryness Perhaps due to the three caution ingredients, I get quite a few small pimples when using this alone. Also, this cushion is very dependent on your skin condition!! When my skin is in good condition, it looks beautiful with just the right amount of oil. However, when my skin isn't at its best, the finish isn't great, and I feel some deep dryness and skin itching. Since this cushion has a semi-matte finish, those with dry skin should make sure to have a solid skincare routine before using it! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 10, 2024
It adheres perfectly to the skin and stays on for over 8 hours. The matte finish means you might not need powder unless you have very oily skin. The coverage isn't particularly impressive. Also, the puff is quite subpar - I'd recommend buying a separate one from a discount store. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinNov 2, 2024
A semi-matte finish suitable for dry skin, beautiful color payoff, and attractive packaging design It tends to settle into fine lines around the eyes.. After a while, it accentuates eye wrinkles, unfortunately - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 13, 2024
I love the perfect semi-matte finish. It's really great! Highly recommended for beginners. The coverage is decent. They claimed there was no darkening, but there's quite a bit, which was surprising. However, it doesn't turn your face completely dark. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 4, 2024
The coverage is excellent, completely concealing pores. It has a slightly matte finish, so applying it over serum provides both coverage and hydration simultaneously. Apart from wishing it was less matte, I've been using this exclusively for months. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinOct 1, 2024
I love how the ivory color makes my skin look radiant. It's a semi-matte cushion with great coverage. It feels moisturizing when applied, but the finish is pleasantly powdery. As someone with dry skin, this cushion is only suitable for spring and summer use.
