Right after application, it's honestly the best cushion I've ever used in my life. It truly gives you that porcelain skin look. After some time, it tends to separate a bit. When it breaks down, it's not great either. The puff feels too taut and, in my opinion, a bit thick, so the application experience wasn't pleasant. It falls short of expectations. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 13, 2025
It's hard to find a cushion that covers well while applying thinly, but this one has great adherence, absorbs beautifully, and doesn't break down much throughout the day! There's not really anything to complain about, except that the magnetic closure on the cushion sometimes comes loose.. For a thin and smooth application, first apply a light layer with a brush, then use the puff to blend it in - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 6, 2025
I've been using this for a week now, along with my concealer. The thing I want to praise the most is that there's almost no darkening, and the coverage is great. I have redness, but this covers most of it well. I have dry, combination dehydrated skin that tends to be quite dry, but I don't feel any dryness even after applying this cushion. There's not really anything disappointing about it. The amount is generous too! If I had to nitpick, I'd say the puff could be a bit better. Try using it together with a concealer for best results. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 30, 2025
~Giverny Adherent Cover Cushion Shade 21 Review~ Thin and lightweight adherence -Adheres to the skin seamlessly, providing natural coverage without floating. -Even with multiple applications, it doesn't feel thick or heavy. Natural coverage -Effectively covers redness and minor blemishes while maintaining a natural skin appearance. -Doesn't apply thickly, resulting in a less 'made-up' look. Beautiful wear even as time passes -Minimal darkening over time, and when it does wear off, it does so evenly and moistly without floating. -Can be used without worry of floating even on dry skin. Great color for daily use -Based on shade 21, it provides natural tone correction without being too white or dull. -Particularly suitable for cool and neutral skin tones. Coverage isn't perfect -Due to its thin and light formula, it may not completely conceal dark blemishes or under-eye circles in one application. -It's best to use with a concealer for areas needing more coverage. May leave a slight stickiness -Due to its moisturizing finish, it may leave a slight stickiness if not set with powder. -Oil control might be necessary, especially in hot weather. The puff is somewhat firm -The puff isn't the super soft type, so it might feel a bit firm when first using. -Adjusting your patting technique is necessary to increase adherence. My Personal Tips -Areas lacking coverage can be naturally enhanced with an additional layer. -Applying after allowing some time for skincare to absorb improves adherence. -As the finish is on the moisturizing side, lightly setting with powder is good if oil control is a concern. A cushion with natural coverage and adherence that's great for daily use! It's a product you can use without hesitation. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 1, 2025
The coverage is excellent with minimal creasing. The staying power is truly impressive - it feels like I'm wearing foundation rather than a cushion. It doesn't settle into pores, adheres well to the skin, and I hardly noticed any patchiness or pilling. Plus, it doesn't seem to darken over time! It tends to apply a bit thick, and there's some slight eye irritation. The cover on the back of the puff is quite stiff, making it challenging to apply precisely. After a while, my skin starts to feel tight. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 17, 2025
I really liked how convenient the case is. The color is also so pretty! I have fairly good skin, but when I apply this, it really emphasizes my pores. The included puff is terrible. As a beauty junkie, I have many tools, but no matter what I use to apply it, my pores look awful. Without using a primer, I can't use this product due to how much it accentuates my pores. I'm writing this review while decluttering items I don't use. Try applying it with a different puff or brush instead of the one that comes with it. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinDec 4, 2024
Right after application, it truly gives you that porcelain skin look. It covers pores and blemishes well. If you control the amount properly, it applies naturally and beautifully. The case design is simple and clean. When you first apply only the Giverny cushion, your skin looks amazing and absolutely gorgeous. However, it's shocking how unattractively it breaks down over time. The puff and cushion combination is a poor match, so I ended up not using the Giverny puff and switched to a different one. Even with a light tap, too much product comes out, making it too difficult for beginners to use (if you press too hard without thinking, your face might look like it's floating). Although it's semi-matte, I feel like it becomes quite oily as time passes. Before applying the Giverny cushion, use another brand's cushion to dampen a puff with a cleansing tissue and apply it to your skin, then spray a makeup fixer on your face. The reason for dampening the puff with a cleansing tissue: Pressing the puff onto the cleansing tissue gives it just the right amount of moisture, not too much. After the fixer dries, apply a small amount of powder all over your face, then dampen the puff with a wet wipe again, spray fixer on the puff, and apply a small amount of Giverny cushion all over your skin. Then spray fixer on your face again, apply a small amount of Giverny cushion once more, and spray fixer. If you do this, your skin will look as beautiful as it does right after applying the Giverny cushion, and your makeup won't break down all day. You'll get a subtle oily glow, like an Inner Glow, but your skin won't deteriorate. You don't need to touch up, but if you don't like the oiliness, just apply some powder and your skin will look perfectly matte and exactly like it did right after application. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 10, 2024
It adheres perfectly to the skin and stays on for over 8 hours. The matte finish means you might not need powder unless you have very oily skin. The coverage isn't particularly impressive. Also, the puff is quite subpar - I'd recommend buying a separate one from a discount store. - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 13, 2024
The best advantage is how beautifully it enhances skin appearance. As someone with dry skin, I often feel dryness after using cushions for a long time, but this one feels less drying compared to others! It doesn't leave an oily feeling either, so my skin looks fresh. I applied it around 9 AM and didn't need touch-ups until evening - I barely noticed any darkening! The downside was that the puff made it a bit difficult to control the amount of product, and it didn't seem to adhere well to the skin. Try using the Espoir Be Glow puff with this cushion for a more snug fit on your skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 23, 2024
As someone who's been using the semi-matte cushion, I found this one feels much lighter! The formula seems to absorb more smoothly too. I was worried because many reviews said the shade was lighter than #21, but it doesn't look too noticeable - just enough to give a radiant complexion, which I love. There's no pilling, and it seems to stay put better without breaking down. (I've never worn a cushion while exercising, so I'm not sure how it would hold up after a workout!) For those trying a cushion for the first time, controlling the amount might be tricky. The puff really absorbs well, so even a little pressure picks up a lot of product. When trying to remove excess, pressing too hard makes all the foundation absorb back into the puff. You might want to use a different puff separately or try applying with a spatula instead.
