I bought this during last summer's Olive Young sale, and since I don't wear makeup daily, I only recently opened the refill! (Which speaks to how long it lasts!) My complexion fluctuates between shades 21 and 22, so initially it seemed a bit bright. However, as winter approached and my skin tone naturally lightened, the cushion matched my skin perfectly! Even when it starts to fade, it does so quite gracefully. Plus, the cushion design is absolutely gorgeous! This was my experience with it. As someone with dry skin in winter and combination skin in summer, I found it quite drying when using it from winter to spring. I wouldn't recommend this to those with year-round dry skin! Everything else about it was fine though. For those with super sensitive skin or prone to blemishes, it's always a good idea to patch test new products before applying them to your entire face. This cushion foundation offers good coverage and evens out the skin tone, but if you have concerns about hydration, you might want to layer a brightening moisturizer underneath for added moisture. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 29, 2025
The coverage is truly outstanding. Even with just a light dab, it provides excellent coverage. It accentuates pores too much. A friend recommended it, but for my combination dehydrated skin, it's way too drying... - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinApr 25, 2025
It applies with a firm texture, providing excellent coverage without causing any darkening of the skin There's a slight dryness that can lead to a bit of pilling after some time Make sure to use a toner - Hwahae UserOily SkinApr 15, 2025
As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I'm absolutely blown away by this product! It's been incredible for winter use. The coverage is fantastic, and I didn't experience any darkening. Best of all, it doesn't settle into the creases around my nose. I'm in love! The puff that comes with it is seriously amazing (I recently dropped mine on the road, so I switched to a Wake Make one). Combination skin folks, this is a must-have! It felt a bit dry in the current weather. Maybe because I have combination dehydrated skin? My forehead was especially dry. Apart from that, it's absolutely perfect! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 8, 2025
I have combination skin with lots of blemishes, but I fell in love with Giverny's cushion and now I'm using their foundation too! I use it almost year-round, and in summer I just add a bit of powder. The coverage, staying power, and everything else are all fantastic - I highly recommend it! It's a bit disappointing that it only comes in three shades. Those with extremely dry skin might find it a bit drying. It works even better when used with the black puff from Fillimilli, available at Olive Young! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 1, 2025
The coverage is excellent with minimal creasing. The staying power is truly impressive - it feels like I'm wearing foundation rather than a cushion. It doesn't settle into pores, adheres well to the skin, and I hardly noticed any patchiness or pilling. Plus, it doesn't seem to darken over time! It tends to apply a bit thick, and there's some slight eye irritation. The cover on the back of the puff is quite stiff, making it challenging to apply precisely. After a while, my skin starts to feel tight. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinJan 16, 2025
This is great for those with oily skin to use in winter. It adheres well to the skin, and when applied in the morning, you hardly need to touch up your makeup throughout the day! I have combination dehydrated skin, and it can sometimes feel dry if I don't properly apply my skincare routine beforehand. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinDec 17, 2024
The ultimate champion of staying power! My face tends to get hot and absorb everything I put on it, so I had given up on makeup. But this has great coverage and even better longevity! It seems to cause some darkening, and it's a bit too dry for winter use. For winter, try layering it over a generous misting of Dr. Jart+ facial spray and let it dry. The resulting glow is absolutely insane! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinDec 11, 2024
The amount is generous, and I think I'll stick with this cushion. The coverage is really excellent, and it lasts until the next morning. It makes my skin look like my own - fair, bright, and smooth. There's a slight feeling of it sitting on the skin? I'm not sure if it's dryness, but if you apply it too thickly, it can look cakey. You need to prep your skin well. Start with toner, then make sure it's fully absorbed. Absorption is key. After applying serum, allow time for it to sink in. Then, use a spatula to pick up some of the Giverny cushion, apply it to the back of your hand, and then spread it thinly on your face. Spray some mist onto the cushion puff and pat it onto your skin for a moisturized finish. This way, it will never look cakey. If you spread it out once more, you'll get good coverage without it looking heavy. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinNov 22, 2024
1. Recently, the makeup applies thinly with great staying power. 2. Minimal darkening. I absolutely hate darkening, so I did a ton of research before buying this, haha! 3. Great value for money. 4. I trust and use this product because the ingredients are pretty decent. 5. The cushion lid is magnetic, making it easy to open and close. 6. The cushion puff has a pointed end, which is great for more precise application around the nose and for detailed skin makeup. 1. Caking around the nose and makeup breakdown on cheeks - primer is essential. (For summer or oily skin) When used alone without primer, it tends to cake around the nose and break down in areas prone to makeup wear, like the cheeks. 2. In dry weather, thorough skincare is necessary before makeup application to prevent skin from feeling tight. When the weather suddenly turned cold, I applied makeup as usual and was shocked by how tight my skin felt. For dry days, be extra diligent with skincare and skip the primer before applying.
