Performs well as a cleanser But I like the rice one the best, so I recommend that
Cons1. The scent is a bit bothersome 2. The color is also a bit off-putting 3. I love eating eggplant, but as a cleanser, it's not great I recommend the rice version
TipInstead of buying the eggplant one, get the rice cleanser

After trying the Blemish line and liking it, I decided to give this one a go too.
ConsThe scent is somewhat... it's not exactly unscented, but it's not strongly scented either. However, it's not exactly a pleasant fragrance.

I've tried all sorts of cleansers, but this one is truly the best for blackheads.
ConsIt runs out faster than expected. The scent is a bit unusual - those with super sensitive skin might not find it suitable...

Although the white version seems more popular, I opted for the purple one due to mixed reviews. Scent: It's almost fragrance-free, with a slight flour-like scent. Packaging: It comes in a purple container with a click-open lid, perfect for one-handed use. Gentleness: Despite my sensitive skin, the ingredients are skin-friendly and non-irritating, which I really appreciate. Other points: It's great for carrying around, and being a powder cleanser, it might have a mild exfoliating effect. I liked that it doesn't cause deep dryness. Overall, it's a solid, reliable product.
ConsWhile it's mostly fragrance-free, there is a distinct scent that those with sensitive skin should be aware of. I found the lid a bit stiff to open...
TipTo prevent wasting the powder cleanser, wet your hands first, then pour the powder, work up a lather, and adjust the water as needed.

I've felt this way since Papa Recipe became popular - the gentle formulation is its best feature, making it safe even for those with sensitive skin. Exfoliation: I tried the Papa Recipe Powder Cleanser when it first came out, and I was impressed by how effectively it exfoliates. While cleansing oils are great for dissolving sebum, they often struggle with dead skin cells. That's why many of us use separate exfoliating pads. However, this product's granules act as a gentle exfoliant, leaving your skin noticeably smoother after cleansing.
ConsLather: Since it doesn't contain typical surfactants, it doesn't produce as much foam as other cleansers. If you prefer a lot of lather, you might find yourself wondering if it's actually cleansing. It may take some time to get used to. Scent: The product is fragrance-free, which gives it a natural, organic smell. However, if you prefer scented products, you might find this aspect a bit disappointing.
Tip- For a deep cleanse, use a cleansing oil followed by the powder cleanser. - For light makeup and gentle cleansing, the powder cleanser alone is sufficient. Tip: The excellent exfoliating properties make it great for use on the neck, chest, or back when you notice rough patches. Try using it in the shower for full-body exfoliation!

There's not a single irritating component. That's why it gently exfoliates even for those with sensitive skin, effectively removing dead skin cells.
ConsIt's nearly unscented, but I think a slight, fresh fragrance would have made it even better.
TipBe careful not to rub it directly on your face as it can be a bit harsh! Make sure to lather it in your hands before cleansing.

I was a bit worried since some people say enzyme ingredients don't suit them, but it seems to work well for me! Skin type: Dry (oily on forehead and cheeks in summer), sensitive Skin concerns: Acne, blackheads, acne scars, deep dryness Texture: As this was my first time using a powder type, I looked up how to use it. You just need to pour about a 500 won coin-sized amount of powder into your palm, then gradually add water. Depending on how much water you mix in, you can focus on exfoliation or use it as a second cleanser. I used it as a second cleanser, and when I first poured the powder into my hand, I thought, 'How can this not be irritating?' But as soon as I added water, it quickly lathered and became soft! That's why I loved that I could do daily dead skin cell care without irritation. Container & Amount: It's smaller than I expected, but apparently, it's quite a lot for an enzyme powder? I didn't know since it's my first time using one. If you use it 2-3 times a week rather than daily, it should last quite a while. The container is perfect for travel too! Cleansing effectiveness: I used it as a second cleanser, and the cleansing power is pretty good. There was no residue after washing! Irritation: For those worried about irritation because it's a powder, don't worry at all! As soon as you add water, it becomes just like a regular cleanser! It lathers really well too. Usually, we worry about irritation with exfoliating products, right? This product will change your mind. You can do daily dead skin cell care without irritation! Feel on skin: Exfoliating products often leave my dry skin feeling parched, making them difficult for dry skin types to use. But this product hardly causes any dryness. I looked it up, and apparently, it's the most moisturizing among the three enzyme powder products? So I think dry skin or combination dehydrated skin types will be satisfied! Versatility: I also find it appealing that it can be used in various ways - as an enzyme pack, second cleanser, daily exfoliator, and more!
ConsScent: Honestly, it's not unbearable, but it did surprise me at first... It has a rich, earthy scent, like being in the countryside! I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. If you're sensitive to scents, make sure to test it before buying!
TipMake the most of it by using it in various ways - as an enzyme pack, exfoliator, second cleanser, and more!

While it's probably not possible to use this product alone for cleansing, it's great as a second step. For thorough cleansing, make sure to do a first cleanse! This was my first time using a powder cleanser, and I found it quite interesting. It's almost fragrance-free, which is great for those with sensitive skin, though I personally wouldn't have minded a subtle scent. The powder particles helped with exfoliating dead skin cells, which was a nice bonus.
ConsI think it would have been nice if it had a subtle fragrance. Also, since it's a powder formula, it can be a bit rough, so those with super sensitive skin might want to avoid it.
TipMix an appropriate amount of powder with a few drops of water and blend well to create a lather.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsI used this product for 7 days, only during my evening cleansing routine, as I have combination dehydrated skin. - Lather It's great that it produces a rich lather even with a small amount. As others have mentioned, it says to use an 'appropriate amount', but it's unclear how much that is. I used about a pinky nail-sized amount. For creating lather, I found it more efficient to wet my hands first, then add the product and foam it up. This way, less product is wasted. When I tried putting the product on my hands first for the photo, then adding water, I felt like I was wasting some down the sink. - Dead skin cell improvement The granules in the cleanser seem to really help with removing dead skin cells. Many products with granules can irritate the skin, but this one leaves your skin soft and smooth without any irritation.
Cons- Scent Although it's supposed to be unscented, there is a very faint, not particularly pleasant smell. - Hydration I didn't feel like it was particularly moisturizing during use. If anything, it felt a bit tight on my skin. After cleansing, I dry my face with a towel and go to my room to apply toner. In that short time, my skin already felt slightly dry. It wasn't severely tight, though.

Just rub it between wet hands and it lathers up nicely. The packaging is simple yet slightly cute! It's purple because of the eggplant theme. It's on the smaller side, but being a powder makes it light and easy to carry around. It seems effective for removing dead skin cells. After lathering, there are tiny granules left that provide a gentle exfoliation. My skin even looks a bit brighter - maybe thanks to the enzymes? I have acne-prone skin, but this product didn't cause any breakouts. We all know Papa Recipe is gentle, right? If anything, my complexion seems to have brightened a bit, so I'm satisfied!
ConsSome people say there's no scent, but I detected a faint, slightly unpleasant vegetable-like smell. It's not a nice fragrance, but unless you're very sensitive, you might not notice it. When lathering with hands, it doesn't foam up much. As a result, it doesn't give that super clean feeling you get with regular foam cleansers. I tried using more product, but it didn't seem to help. I wonder if using a foam net would improve the lather?
TipThis product seems better suited for a light morning cleanse rather than removing makeup in the evening!
