My T-zone has a bit of oil, while the rest is dry. The U-zone (especially around the mouth) is extremely dry. Overall, my skin lacks both oil and moisture, so I focus heavily on hydration. If I use products with incompatible ingredients, my skin reacts negatively the next day, so I prioritize ingredient lists. Ingredients/Scent: This powder cleanser contains eggplant extract capsules, papain (enzyme powder), and walnut shell powder. It's passed low irritation tests, forms a moisture barrier, improves skin texture, and effectively removes dead skin cells and impurities. With a pH of 5.5 similar to healthy skin, this mild, slightly acidic cleanser is suitable for sensitive skin. Due to its ingredients, there's a slight powder scent, but it's nearly unscented. Those not sensitive to fragrances might consider it fragrance-free. Texture/Application: It's a fine white powder with eggplant capsules and walnut shell particles. Use about a coin-sized amount, add a bit of lukewarm water, and rub between your hands to create a soft lather. Make sure the eggplant capsules and powder dissolve completely! The more you work it, the richer and denser the foam becomes, giving a gentle cleansing feel without irritation. After rinsing, my skin felt moisturized without tightness or dryness. Exfoliation/Hydration: The papain and walnut shell powder gently remove dead skin cells and refine skin texture, while the eggplant capsules form a moisture barrier. This left my skin feeling hydrated without any tightness. I was initially concerned about the slight graininess, but it was fine even for sensitive skin. The creamy foam seemed to melt away impurities gently. After cleansing, I could see my skin texture looked smoother. Overall: I've been using the Papa Recipe Eggplant Clearing Enzyme Powder Cleanser for 11 days, from September 5th to the 15th. I recommend this for those seeking a low pH hydrating cleanser, a gentle exfoliating cleanser, a moisturizing cleanser that leaves skin comfortable, or a cleanser suitable for dry and sensitive skin.
ConsDue to its mild ingredients, it doesn't have the deep cleansing power of more intense products. If you've worn sunscreen or makeup, I recommend using this as a second cleanser. It's ideal for morning cleansing or a light evening face wash. If you prefer a squeaky-clean feel and rich lather, this might not be for you. Not recommended for oily skin, but perfect for dry and sensitive skin types. Combination dehydrated skin types can use it, but if you prefer a squeaky-clean feel over a smooth, moisturized finish, you might want to look elsewhere. Caution: Due to the enzyme and exfoliating ingredients, those with extremely sensitive skin may experience irritation. While I didn't experience any stinging, blemishes, or burning sensation after use, I recommend adjusting the amount and frequency based on your skin's condition.
TipThis cleanser seems suitable for sensitive skin that finds exfoliating pads, peeling gels, or water peeling devices too harsh. While you shouldn't expect dramatic results, if you thoroughly massage the creamy foam during your evening cleanse, you'll notice smoother skin! If your sensitive skin reacts to massaging, you can also just leave the foam on for 20-30 seconds.

I've felt this way since Papa Recipe became popular - the gentle formulation is its best feature, making it safe even for those with sensitive skin. Exfoliation: I tried the Papa Recipe Powder Cleanser when it first came out, and I was impressed by how effectively it exfoliates. While cleansing oils are great for dissolving sebum, they often struggle with dead skin cells. That's why many of us use separate exfoliating pads. However, this product's granules act as a gentle exfoliant, leaving your skin noticeably smoother after cleansing.
ConsLather: Since it doesn't contain typical surfactants, it doesn't produce as much foam as other cleansers. If you prefer a lot of lather, you might find yourself wondering if it's actually cleansing. It may take some time to get used to. Scent: The product is fragrance-free, which gives it a natural, organic smell. However, if you prefer scented products, you might find this aspect a bit disappointing.
Tip- For a deep cleanse, use a cleansing oil followed by the powder cleanser. - For light makeup and gentle cleansing, the powder cleanser alone is sufficient. Tip: The excellent exfoliating properties make it great for use on the neck, chest, or back when you notice rough patches. Try using it in the shower for full-body exfoliation!

However, some reviewers mentioned detecting a subtle scent, so keep that in mind. * Cleansing effectiveness: While it's not an extremely powerful cleanser, I used it as a second step after my oil or balm cleanser for two weeks. I don't usually wear makeup, just sunscreen. If you use a lot of cosmetics, you might find its cleansing power a bit weak. It's best suited as a second cleanser or for morning washes. * Lather: As a first-time user of powder cleansers, I found it doesn't foam up as much as expected. However, this doesn't affect its cleansing ability at all. If you love lots of foam, you might need to use more product. I found a small amount was sufficient even with less foam. What I'm most satisfied with is how it transformed the area above my nose. I always had visible blackheads there, but amazingly, after using this, the bumpy texture completely disappeared! My skin feels smooth now. It's not like the blackheads are being extracted, more like they're being... shaved off? This makes makeup application so much smoother, which I absolutely love. I'm smitten with this product! Plus, the ingredients are so gentle. Especially the hydration! After cleansing, my skin feels so moisturized - it's hydration personified! I usually experience some dryness right after washing, but this product leaves my skin feeling hydrated. It's perfect as we transition into fall. Once I finish this, I'm definitely buying it with my own money! Also, since it's a powder formula, it's great for frequent travelers who don't want to worry about liquid restrictions.
ConsThe main drawback, if any, is that it's a bit tricky to control the amount of product you use. But that's to be expected with a powder formula. Also, if you wear heavy makeup, you'll definitely need to use this as a second cleanser. Those who love rich, foamy lathers might find it a bit disappointing. One minor annoyance is that the opening gets dirty even after just one use, which is a bit of a shame. However, these small issues are far outweighed by its benefits. The dead skin cell removal and hydration make it totally worth recommending!

After washing, your skin doesn't feel squeaky clean, but rather soft and hydrated, with a sense that impurities and dead skin cells have been gently removed. ✓ Skin irritation: As someone with sensitive and dry skin, I was worried about potential irritation. Happily, it's gentle and mild, allowing for effective exfoliation without any discomfort. ✓ Hydration: Post-cleanse, it feels like a light moisture barrier forms on your face! As mentioned earlier, it doesn't leave your skin feeling overly dry or tight, which made for a pleasant user experience. ✓ It's great for conveniently and gently caring for skin exfoliation on a daily basis! ✓ Among powder-type cleansers, some can be difficult to dissolve and lather. However, this product dissolves easily, making it simple to use!
Cons✓ Perhaps due to my dry skin, using it both morning and night left my skin feeling a bit parched, so I've relegated it to evening use only. ✓ It doesn't produce as rich and creamy a lather as foam cleansers do. While using more powder does create more foam, it still lacks that dense, creamy texture. This might be an inherent characteristic of powder enzyme cleansers.

Compared to my previous foam cleanser, there's significantly less skin tightness! The product description seems to focus on combination dehydrated skin and improving skin texture. I definitely felt my skin texture improving. The uneven texture on my butterfly zone and the slight roughness along my jawline noticeably improved after just two uses - I could feel the difference when touching my skin. I didn't experience any blemishes after using this. In fact, during this changing season, I saw improvements in my small bumps and whiteheads!!! Some beauty YouTubers recommend enzyme powders, and I really saw the enzyme effects with this product........ Highly recommend!
ConsThe lather isn't very rich..!! Also, at first, it's hard to gauge how much is the right amount to use. That's probably the main drawback.

I'm prone to facial flushing, redness, and have sensitive skin. My usual cleansing routine: 1st cleanse - Either cleansing oil or micellar water 2nd cleanse - Natural soap Due to my sensitive skin, I often use gentle natural soaps, even for morning cleansing. When I first lathered the Eggplant Clearing Enzyme Powder Cleanser, I was pleasantly surprised by how the foam felt as soft as natural soap. While it doesn't create an abundance of foam, I personally found it cleansed gently without needing excessive lather. The formula is a powder with coarse white particles interspersed with subtle purple powder, true to its eggplant-inspired name. You only need a small amount with a bit of water to create a gentle lather when massaged onto the skin. It's fragrance-free! At first, I thought my nose might be blocked when I couldn't smell anything, but upon checking the product details, I confirmed it's indeed unscented! The packaging is cute, all in a lovely purple color, and I'm satisfied with how it dispenses just the right amount each time. Although I haven't tried it as a mask yet... I'm very pleased with it as a gentle cleanser. As my first powder cleanser, I was intrigued but unsure if it would cleanse effectively. I'm happy to report it provides a gentle yet thorough cleanse. It's designed for combination dehydrated skin, which works perfectly for me!
ConsIf I had to nitpick, it doesn't produce a rich, dense foam like some cleansers do. So those who prefer a foam cleanser with abundant lather might find this slightly disappointing! But that's really the only drawback I can think of.
TipAt 18,000 won, it's not overly expensive, but it would be even better to purchase it when it's on sale!

Unlike enzyme cleansers from other brands that left my skin feeling squeaky clean, this product feels more like a mild acidic cleanser.
ConsI personally prefer products with rich lather, but this one doesn't seem to produce as much foam. As mentioned above, it has a gentle, mildly acidic feel, and the lather is about what you'd expect from a low pH cleanser.

The positive aspects were: 1. I loved that it creates dense foam that doesn't easily collapse. 2. It gave me a sense of gently removing dead skin cells. 3. Considering the amount of foam, it left my skin feeling refreshingly clean.
Cons1. Since you mix the powder with water to create foam, it's not a product that produces an abundance of lather. 2. I have oily skin that easily produces sebum on my nose and chin. Based on this skin type, I didn't feel it was particularly effective for exfoliation. It just felt like it lightly removed dead skin cells? It wasn't much different from other regular cleansers. 3. Despite having oily skin, my face felt dry after cleansing.
TipI recommend this for those with oily skin who want gentle daily exfoliation and are interested in trying an enzyme cleanser! While not extraordinary, it's a decent product that you'll find yourself reaching for every day.
