Contains no harmful ingredients for the skin Doesn't feel heavy or suffocating on the skin Gentle on the skin While it has good ingredients and doesn't feel heavy, it lacks adherence to the skin If you have blemish-prone skin and care more about not breaking out than coverage, I recommend this product - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 6, 2022
For those with sensitive/dry skin, especially men, if you're looking for moderate coverage without causing blemishes, this is the product for you. After trying countless BB creams and foundations for men, I've finally found my holy grail. The formula is quite rich, making it challenging for oily skin types to use year-round. The adherence and longevity aren't great, requiring some skill to apply effectively. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 1, 2021
Skin type: I have oily skin that gets quite shiny as time passes. I don't have severe blemishes, just a few small ones. There's a bit of redness around my nose, and my pores are quite large, especially on my nose. 1. Ingredients: Despite having oily skin, it doesn't feel heavy or suffocating. I think it's because it doesn't contain pore-clogging ingredients. 2. Texture and feel: It's slightly runny and hydrating. As mentioned, it doesn't feel heavy. Since I have oily skin, it does get a bit shiny over time, but the overall skin appearance is smooth and gives a dewy glow. It doesn't emphasize dead skin cells unless they're severe, and there's minimal pore-clogging. In areas with deep wrinkles (like around the eyes), it can settle a bit if not properly moisturized, but it's much better with good hydration. 3. Coverage: I was unsure about the coverage as opinions vary, but I found it surprisingly good. It covered most of my blemishes (though I don't have severe ones) and mostly covered my redness, leaving only a slight hint. It concealed most of my pores except for two or three very large, deep ones. 4. Adherence: I'll mention this in the 'bad' section. 5. Color: For a #23 shade, it's slightly bright and gives a radiant look. It's a tad pink or grayish, which doesn't perfectly match my yellowish undertone, but it's subtle enough that I can use it comfortably. 1. Adherence: The adherence wasn't great. This might be due to my oily skin. When oil comes through, the overall look is still okay, but it can occasionally look a bit patchy. When applying, even with lots of patting (though I'm not great with a puff), it leaves more puff marks compared to other products. It also transfers to masks very easily. 2. The color doesn't match me perfectly (though it's still usable). 3. The need to apply a separate sunscreen. Make sure to moisturize well before applying, especially in areas with wrinkles. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 18, 2019
First off, I have blemish-prone skin! While my T-zone gets super oily as the day goes on, my cheeks are dry, so matte makeup is a no-go for me. That's why I decided to try this product, hoping for a moisturizing BB cream even if it might get a bit oily later. It's as hydrating as promised and comes off easily, so while the coverage isn't top-notch, I'm satisfied since I prefer a natural look! What I loved most is that it doesn't cake up on poorly maintained skin as much as other products do. And the color is absolutely perfect - other #23 shades in Korea are usually too light for my taste, but this one is the most natural-looking #23 I've ever used! As expected with its good ingredients, it doesn't really adhere to the skin and tends to transfer easily. These days, with all the fine dust, I often wear a mask, and when I take it off, you can see where the product has rubbed off on the mask... To reduce transfer, I've tried applying a primer (from Labno) before the BB cream, and finishing with a powder (Innisfree No Sebum Moisture Powder). This helped a bit with the transfer issue! However, even this routine felt a bit drying for me in winter, so sometimes I just used the primer with this BB cream and blotted oil throughout the day as needed. Also, I heard this product works well with the Skinfood Wedge Puff, so I tried using them together and I really liked the result! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 3, 2017
Hello :) I'm Adelwhite :) I was using the Etude House AC cushion, but even after using it for a long time, my acne kept coming back :( So I decided to switch to a base makeup product with gentler ingredients, even if the coverage is a bit weaker. I thought about trying the Medicube products, but the ingredients seemed quite different from what's listed on Hwahae. 1. The biggest advantage is that the ingredients are great!! The full ingredient list matches what's shown on Hwahae, so I can use it without worry. Lately, my acne hasn't been flaring up as much, and I'm satisfied that it's not breaking me out due to the makeup. 2. Even after wearing the makeup for a long time, my acne didn't come back. 3. I'm on the darker side, and the 23 shade looked a bit pale on me. I think it's because the makeup tends to look more obvious on my skin tone. 4. There's no burden or irritation on my skin. 5. The amount seems quite generous compared to just using a cushion. 6. It gives a subtle glow when applied, so I think it would be great for people with nice skin (I'm a bit jealous 8T8) The disappointing aspects were: 1. The coverage is quite weak. It can somewhat color-correct, but it doesn't cover acne scars. Because the coverage is weak, I had to apply a lot. 2. The most disappointing part is that the adhesion is too poor, so it looked patchy even on my oily skin. 3. The way it breaks down is also quite unsightly. 4. The formula is thin and soft, but the lack of adhesion makes me think it's like the clay-based makeup products from the Goryeo dynasty (like the makeup Hae-soo would have used in Bossam: Steal the Fate). I guess having such pure ingredients means there's no way around the poor adhesion. I bought an Aritaum cushion case and made a cushion out of it. Making it into a cushion definitely helps with touch-ups! The coverage in photos goes from: Not applied -> 1-2 applications -> 3-4 applications The more I applied, the more it looked patchy and clung to dry spots. To improve the adhesion, I'm considering using a very thin, watery toner or ampoule along with it, since the cushion ended up not being as dewy as I'd hoped. In the cushion case, I mixed: Sakaro BF Cream + The Saem Aqua Ampoule + Aromatica Soothing Gel #One month later review My acne definitely hasn't been flaring up!! Since it's such a gentle makeup product. But the separation is terrible ㅜㅜ Even when I apply it with my fingers, it slides and separates. Over time, it breaks down horribly around my nose area, looking patchy and my oil pokes through whitishly ㅜ The tip is to first apply a thin layer with a foundation brush, then dab over it with a puff to smooth out the brush strokes. That way, it applies a bit thinner and adheres better, though the adhesion is still not great. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinNov 15, 2016
The ingredients are good, so it doesn't put too much strain on my skin, and the color matches me well. There's a lot of product, so it lasts a long time. I'm worried that using other products will make my skin worse, and I don't like the feeling of toxins building up, so while this isn't the absolute best, it's hard to find another one. The coverage is weak (doesn't cover pores) and the UV protection is almost non-existent, so my face got tanned during the summer. The application doesn't stick well around the nose area and just slides off. It's extremely sensitive, so if ingredients aren't the most important factor, I wouldn't recommend it. It's just a formality to put on as a base layer. It's at the level of just evening out the skin tone. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 7, 2016
Honestly, it can be difficult to pay attention to the ingredients in base products, but this one had ingredients that were almost like a skincare product. It would be particularly suitable for those with sensitive skin who can't just slather on anything, but also can't go out with bare skin. I have a slightly darker and more yellow complexion than 21, and when I apply the Dr. Troub sunscreen (which has quite a bit of white cast) and then this, it creates the perfect match for my skin tone. I didn't buy it with the intention of brightening, so it doesn't make me look dramatically lighter, but it does make me look much more radiant. It's moisturizing and has a soft, smooth application. After applying, it leaves a subtle glow, not a shiny finish. It's more like my skin naturally has a honey-like sheen. And it doesn't get cakey at all. I have combination skin and sweat a lot, but I didn't experience any darkening with this on my skin! With foundations, how nicely they break down is important, and this one breaks down beautifully - in a natural way. The coverage is just right. Since it doesn't contain silicone or the PEG series of ingredients, the adhesion is really not great. The longevity isn't particularly good either. By the evening, it's quite broken down. I think it's better to apply this with a tool other than your fingers. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 6, 2016
It's gentle. I liked that the color matched my skin tone almost perfectly. The coverage is good. The coverage is almost non-existent, and it has a sticky, clingy feel, so my hair kept sticking to my face. The puff absorbs a lot of the product, and it's also messy and leaves marks when applying it by hand, making it a bit inconvenient and difficult to use. And since I don't really like the look of heavily powdered skin, I thought the color matching my skin tone perfectly was good, but since my skin isn't great and the coverage is almost non-existent, it's hard to tell if I even applied it or not.. I think it would look really pretty and natural on people with good skin, giving a glowy, bare-faced look. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 24, 2016
I came across Sidmool while looking for a foundation or BB cream without dimethicone. There are hardly any dimethicone-free BB creams available in the market. I started using it because of my acne, and it has significantly reduced my acne. The ingredients are good, so I can use it with confidence. It applies well even without dimethicone. The coverage is so-so. The application is good, but if you lightly wipe it with a clean hand, it leaves visible traces. When first applied, the glow is overly intense, and you need to blot the oil with oil blotting paper to make it look more natural. Within three hours, it feels like it has disappeared completely. However, the fact that it doesn't cause acne makes me willing to overlook all these issues. Imagining a future where my acne and scars fade, I can accept all these shortcomings and still use it. Since the coverage is so-so, use a concealer to cover blemishes. To increase the longevity, blot the oil with oil blotting paper and then pat it on again. There is no issue with it separating or becoming patchy during the day if you touch up your makeup at lunchtime. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinFeb 12, 2016
The ingredients are good and everything is great! And it seems to provide the right glowing effect for dry skin. The adhesion is way too weak.. And I don't recommend it for oily skin ㅠㅡㅠ It just sits on the surface.
