My scalp and face are very oily, so I only use shea butter on my dry body. When I mix it with my body emulsion, I can definitely feel the boost in hydration. It's become an essential part of my winter skincare routine - the difference between days I use it and days I don't is so noticeable that I make the effort to mix it in, even if it's a bit of a hassle.
ConsThe texture is somewhere between thick and smooth. It looks like it would melt easily, but you actually need to massage it in for a while before it absorbs. Because it absorbs slowly, it can feel a bit sticky after application.
TipWhen dead skin cells build up on my heels in winter, I apply shea butter directly to my soles before bed and wear sleep socks.

ConsIt takes a bit of time to absorb. Since it's not chemically processed, we have to accept that trade-off.

It's great value for money with a generous amount at an affordable price.
ConsThose with oily skin might not appreciate it as much. Due to its buttery texture, it feels quite sticky and doesn't seem to absorb well.
TipMixing it with a light, hydrating emulsion or toner might help reduce the stickiness and improve absorption.

But after using this, my skin has become noticeably softer.
ConsIt can be a bit of a hassle to melt and apply the product, waiting for it to absorb. Sometimes the particles can feel a bit coarse on the skin.

Shea butter is a plant-based oil extracted from nuts, known for its moisturizing, regenerative, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. When I first used it, I applied a generous amount after my skincare routine, but my face still felt tight, so I had to reapply several times. I guess my skin was really dehydrated! Now, I'm using a mix of shea butter, jojoba oil, and coconut oil. The coconut oil gives it a lovely scent, and I feel like it's even more hydrating.
ConsEverything's great, but it's a bit annoying to keep rubbing the oil into my hands to absorb it.

I used to layer multiple Korean products like 2 emulsions and 2 creams. Sure, high-end creams were better, but who can afford to spend over $100 each time for such small amounts? Physiogel caused deep dryness, and Cetaphil was even worse. I tried Egyptian Magic Cream, but it also led to deep dryness, so I didn't repurchase. Then I discovered shea butter... what a game-changer! It's thick and oily, but it's the least drying and most long-lasting moisturizer I've ever used! I've been using only this since. The ingredients are great too. And the size is beast-mode, hehe. I think I've been using shea butter for over 5-7 years now. It's the best! Oh, and in winter, I either apply jojoba oil before or mix it in for ultimate hydration. I use oil instead of emulsion.
ConsWell, when you order this product online, it's hit or miss. Some arrive fine, others have a grainy texture... Those are really difficult to apply. It's frustrating. I suspect the grainy ones might be slightly defective. Apart from that, I don't see any other downsides. Oh, people with oily or normal skin might find it too greasy and slow to absorb. They might feel it sitting on top of their skin. When I bought it for my family, they all hated it. This is great for extremely dry skin types. For other skin types... if you really want to use it, apply a small amount or mix a bit with another cream. My skin absorbs it quickly, so it doesn't look greasy or oily. Others say my skin looks dewy. Highly recommended for extremely dry skin!
TipShea butter cream solidifies in cold temperatures. If you find it inconvenient to melt it every time you apply, just keep it in a warm place. In winter, leaving it on the heated floor works wonders - it becomes super soft. If you receive a grainy batch, try melting it once in warm water or under your blanket. It usually transforms back to a normal texture. However, some severe cases won't improve even with this method. In those instances, I roll it vigorously on the back of my hand before applying. Rubbing it directly on your face feels like you're exfoliating with dead skin cells... I don't know why these defective products show up occasionally.

I tried it, and it's truly gentle! Looking back, I think my skin gradually improved while using this shea butter along with Now Foods jojoba oil.
ConsIt's difficult to apply in summer as it feels a bit heavy. I can only use it again around winter. Usually, I only apply it around my eyes and neck area. Also, it absorbs very slowly.
TipIt's somewhat okay if you apply it before going to sleep.

It's gentle on the skin and can even be applied to the lips. It's not glossy, non-irritating, and mild, which is great. I appreciate that it doesn't have any artificial fragrances.
ConsIt might be too rich for oily skin types. Even after a while, it barely absorbs and feels slippery on the surface. There's an unpleasant odor that lingers even after washing.

This is truly an amazing product! It's probably the best body care item out there! Absolutely perfect for winter.
ConsIt absorbs way too slowly. Even after waiting for a long time after application, it still feels like it's just sitting on the skin. Also, the pump dispenser is such a hassle to use.

I'm really satisfied with this product as it has great hydration and isn't sticky at all. For someone like me with atopic dermatitis, this has been my go-to on dry days.
ConsThe absorption... You need to massage it for a long time. A really long time.
TipFor reference, when I mix it with another brand's product (Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream) and apply it like a body emulsion, the absorption improves. The hydration doubles compared to using the emulsion product alone. (Just keep in mind that you'll need to pay extra attention when cleansing, otherwise it might cause pilling later)
