My baby had severe symptoms on the face, especially on both cheeks, and mild coin-shaped eczema patches scattered on the body. I mixed this product with another brand's baby cream and applied it like a massage 4-5 times a day. Amazingly, when we went back to the doctor two weeks after the atopy diagnosis, even the doctor was surprised to see that the body had completely cleared up and became super soft. I sometimes use it as a sleeping pack, applying it slightly heavily, and wake up with soft skin in the morning. I also use it as a lip balm and on any dry areas. It's a versatile, cost-effective product that I always keep stocked at home.
Cons- It might be slightly unhygienic if you don't use a spatula. - The inconvenience of having to melt it before use. - The large size makes it less portable. - While you can apply it generously on the body, you need to be careful with the amount when using it on the face, and daily use might not be suitable. (When I initially applied it generously 4-5 times a day on my baby's face like I did on the body, after 2-3 days the face became redder and bumpier, as if the atopy was worsening. Now I apply a tiny amount on the face only 2-3 times a week, which works well for hydration.) - For extremely dry areas, this product alone might not be enough for long-lasting moisture. While it's quite hydrating, the effects don't seem to last very long. When I use it as a lip balm, I first apply a slightly thick layer of this product, and once it's absorbed, I add a drop or two of jojoba oil from the same company. This makes my lips much smoother and softer, making lip makeup application easier. - As the product itself is quite heavy, I recommend those with oily or sensitive skin to do a patch test first.
TipIt's convenient to carry around if you transfer some into a small tin case. For those who dislike heavy or oily textures, you could try applying a very small amount, like an ointment, only on extremely dry areas.

Nothing seemed to help, not even popular home remedies. We eventually got a steroid ointment prescription from a university hospital, which improved the condition. As it got better, I started using Now Foods Jojoba Oil and shea butter together. Now we don't even need to go to the hospital anymore - it's improved so much!
ConsHowever, the shea butter is as stiff as butter straight from the fridge when you try to apply it. It feels like it takes a million years to absorb into the skin. You have to pat it onto your child's body with the patience of a saint. But hey, with zero harmful ingredients and seeing my child's atopic dermatitis improve, I can live with it - even if it temporarily erases my fingerprints and palm lines!
TipThe shea butter is especially hard to spread in winter. Here's a tip: first, scoop some onto your clean palm and rub it between your hands to warm it up and melt it thoroughly. Then apply it to your child's body. If you try to apply it directly, it won't spread well at all.

My little one had dry, flaky skin like atopic dermatitis. Even Physiogel and Atopalm didn't work, so I tried this after hearing about it. Mixing shea butter with jojoba oil is truly fantastic! It's still a staple for my 4-year-old. We apply it morning and night every day.
ConsThe oil needs to be transferred to a different container for use. Also, the shea butter solidifies when it's cold, which could be seen as a drawback.
TipI give it a quick spin in the microwave to soften it up.

Shortly after giving birth, my son developed what seemed like atopic dermatitis or weakened immunity, scratching his legs until they bled. His skin was cracked like a snake's. I bought shea butter and after applying it for a few days, the itching disappeared and his skin returned to normal. Since then, I've used it on my son too, and it suits him well. Even now at 24 months, we use it on his face and body!
ConsBeing solid, you need to melt it in your hands. It applies relatively well in hot summer. In winter, it's harder, so you need to scoop it with your nails or a spoon and rub it in your hands to melt it before use. But it's great, absolutely fantastic!

ConsSince it's pure shea butter, it doesn't absorb very well

It's incredibly useful, so I always keep it on hand.
ConsIf you don't use it quickly, the scent tends to change oddly. I still use it on my feet since the effect is the same, but it does make me a bit uneasy.

It's especially effective on areas with dead skin cells like heels, elbows, and children's rough spots - they become moisturized quickly. I use it as part of my nighttime skincare routine.
ConsThis product is too rich to use as a basic skincare item. It's overly oily for regular use before bed.
TipWhen your heels are rough and dry, gently melt this product and apply it. The dead skin cells become soft and smooth.

My little one has very dry skin, so I always applied this with jojoba oil after bath time. I thought I might be over-moisturizing, so I stopped for a few days. Oh no! The areas with blemishes clearly expanded. Back to applying it we go! We've used 3 bottles since my 8-month-old was practically a newborn. It definitely keeps the skin hydrated.
ConsIt's a bit challenging to apply directly as it's quite solid. You need to rub it between your hands to melt it properly.
TipI always mix it with jojoba oil when applying.

My body had severe keratosis pilaris, but after applying this daily, wow! Even the stubborn bumps that never went away before have disappeared. It's amazing! If you're struggling with keratosis pilaris on the back of your arms, calves, or front of your thighs, try moisturizing with this. I bet it'll work wonders for you!
ConsIt would be nice if it came with a spatula or something similar.
