It's quite rich, which really helps with the dryness.
ConsThe texture is almost like a solid, making it a bit challenging for a child to apply on their own.
TipWe scoop some out and warm it up in our hands before applying.

My baby had severe symptoms on the face, especially on both cheeks, and mild coin-shaped eczema patches scattered on the body. I mixed this product with another brand's baby cream and applied it like a massage 4-5 times a day. Amazingly, when we went back to the doctor two weeks after the atopy diagnosis, even the doctor was surprised to see that the body had completely cleared up and became super soft. I sometimes use it as a sleeping pack, applying it slightly heavily, and wake up with soft skin in the morning. I also use it as a lip balm and on any dry areas. It's a versatile, cost-effective product that I always keep stocked at home.
Cons- It might be slightly unhygienic if you don't use a spatula. - The inconvenience of having to melt it before use. - The large size makes it less portable. - While you can apply it generously on the body, you need to be careful with the amount when using it on the face, and daily use might not be suitable. (When I initially applied it generously 4-5 times a day on my baby's face like I did on the body, after 2-3 days the face became redder and bumpier, as if the atopy was worsening. Now I apply a tiny amount on the face only 2-3 times a week, which works well for hydration.) - For extremely dry areas, this product alone might not be enough for long-lasting moisture. While it's quite hydrating, the effects don't seem to last very long. When I use it as a lip balm, I first apply a slightly thick layer of this product, and once it's absorbed, I add a drop or two of jojoba oil from the same company. This makes my lips much smoother and softer, making lip makeup application easier. - As the product itself is quite heavy, I recommend those with oily or sensitive skin to do a patch test first.
TipIt's convenient to carry around if you transfer some into a small tin case. For those who dislike heavy or oily textures, you could try applying a very small amount, like an ointment, only on extremely dry areas.

We tend to use it more intensively during the winter months.
ConsThe only downside is that if it touches your hair, it makes it look greasy as if you haven't washed it. But that's the case with pretty much any oil, to be honest!

Shea butter seems to be the ultimate moisturizer for winter. I must have gone through about 10 jars already!
ConsIt can feel a bit rich, which might make your skin feel heavy.
TipI sometimes mix it with other emulsions for variety.

It's quite powdery and leaves my hands feeling thick after application, but it's so good for moisturizing my child's skin that I'm applying it along with oil. I'm hoping the last bit of cold weather passes soon and the atopic dermatitis calms down.
ConsIt absolutely cannot be applied on its own. I have to mix it with oil in my hand and melt it before applying. While the oil contributes to this, when combined with the shea butter, it creates an incredibly sticky feeling. The real issue isn't just that - if it gets on clothes, it leaves stubborn oily stains. As a result, we end up discarding winter underwear after just one season of use. Nevertheless, since it's supreme for moisturizing atopic skin, we're putting up with it. For normal skin types, it would likely be far too rich.
TipUsing it together with Now Foods' jojoba oil makes it even more powerfully moisturizing. While Now Foods' jojoba oil is affordable and effective, its packaging is, frankly, terrible.

The ingredients are great, and the shea butter is excellent for hydration. I also love the price! It was generally good, I'd say. While it didn't completely transform my extremely dry skin into perfectly moisturized skin, I still liked it. I've heard it works even better when mixed with jojoba oil, so I'll have to give that a try next time!
ConsThe hydration wasn't as strong as I expected. I think I'll try mixing it with an oil next time to see if that helps.
TipThey say it works even better when mixed with jojoba oil or any other oil of your choice.

It's the ultimate hydration technique!
ConsWhile oil and shea butter are fantastic for moisture in winter, they can feel a bit heavy during the summer months.
TipFor maximum hydration, apply the mixture all over your body in the warm, steamy bathroom right after bathing, while your skin is still damp. Then, gently pat dry with a towel to lock in the moisture.

It's also great for adults with severe dry, flaky skin areas.
ConsThe texture is a bit inconvenient, and it seems the scent changes slightly over time. The large quantity makes it difficult to use up completely.

I use it along with jojoba oil. It's much easier to apply than using shea butter alone, which can be difficult to melt and spread.
ConsAfter application, apart from feeling a bit too smooth, I haven't found any major drawbacks yet. I'm quite satisfied with it and continue to use it regularly.

I'm really satisfied with this product as it has great hydration and isn't sticky at all. For someone like me with atopic dermatitis, this has been my go-to on dry days.
ConsThe absorption... You need to massage it for a long time. A really long time.
TipFor reference, when I mix it with another brand's product (Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream) and apply it like a body emulsion, the absorption improves. The hydration doubles compared to using the emulsion product alone. (Just keep in mind that you'll need to pay extra attention when cleansing, otherwise it might cause pilling later)
