Scoop out a bit with a spatula, melt it with the warmth of your hands, and let it absorb into your skin. It creates an amazing moisture barrier that's perfect for the cold winter months or dry seasonal changes. There's nothing quite like it! It's a versatile product that works wonders for both face and body.
ConsIn summer, it melts due to the heat, becoming slippery and difficult to control the amount. It might be too rich to use on its own during the warmer months.
TipTry mixing it with aloe gel for a perfect balance of oil and moisture. This makes it lighter and more refreshing to use.

Though it's a bit oily and needs to be warmed up before application, it seems to really help with hydration.
ConsThe lack of a spatula means I have to use my fingers, which isn't ideal for hygiene. In summer, it can feel a bit too rich, and it tends to transfer onto clothes or anything that touches your skin, which can be inconvenient.

It's absolutely top-notch!
ConsThe moisturizing power is so intense that it feels quite sticky when applied to hands
TipApply it by gently massaging it into your skin

My scalp and face are very oily, so I only use shea butter on my dry body. When I mix it with my body emulsion, I can definitely feel the boost in hydration. It's become an essential part of my winter skincare routine - the difference between days I use it and days I don't is so noticeable that I make the effort to mix it in, even if it's a bit of a hassle.
ConsThe texture is somewhere between thick and smooth. It looks like it would melt easily, but you actually need to massage it in for a while before it absorbs. Because it absorbs slowly, it can feel a bit sticky after application.
TipWhen dead skin cells build up on my heels in winter, I apply shea butter directly to my soles before bed and wear sleep socks.

I have extremely dry skin, so I only use cream-type products. Even then, I always felt like something was missing. But since I started mixing shea butter with my cream, I've been enjoying a hydrated winter!
ConsThe downside is that the little granules don't melt with just body heat!
TipI got a teaspoon and heat the bottom with a lighter to melt it, then mix it into my cream. It might sound like a hassle, but it doesn't take long to melt with the lighter, and it absorbs into the skin quickly. Applying it on top of cream doesn't work well, but mixing it with cream makes it absorb beautifully. I slather it all over my body! I highly recommend it! Update 2/17/2020: Once melted, even if it solidifies again due to cold, it melts easily with the warmth of your palms. It doesn't form granules. It also melts well if you dissolve it in hot water after washing your hands!

Applying a small amount as the final step in my routine, melting it with my body heat, provided long-lasting hydration. It worked well for both face and body.
ConsBeing a natural product, some lumps remained even after melting. As a result, I noticed quite a few clumps on my face.
TipPress it firmly onto your skin as the last step in your skincare routine. Your face will be armed with moisture, ready to withstand even the coldest winds.

We tend to use it more intensively during the winter months.
ConsThe only downside is that if it touches your hair, it makes it look greasy as if you haven't washed it. But that's the case with pretty much any oil, to be honest!

It created a protective barrier for my extremely dry skin. Even in the harshest winds, it kept my skin from cracking and provided a thick layer of protection.
ConsThe amount is really generous... which is great, but... When I first opened the lid and saw the texture, I was shocked. It looked like hardened sugar! Because it's unrefined shea butter, it's quite troublesome to spread on the face.
TipI found that mixing it with oil and rubbing it between my palms helps it melt better. At first, I considered microwaving it to liquefy, but I worried that might destroy the beneficial ingredients. If anyone knows a good method, please leave a comment!

When you mix this with an emulsion or oil after showering in winter, it's genuinely moisturizing without any irritation. It works hard to keep your skin feeling great.
ConsIt's a hassle to melt for use, which makes me less inclined to use it regularly. If you don't melt it properly before applying, you end up with clumps sticking to your body. Being oil-based, it seems prone to spoilage, and I'm worried about it going bad since the quantity is too large compared to how much I use.

First off, great value for money! Since I'm using it as a foot cream rather than a body lotion, the texture wasn't particularly important. It quickly melts into an oil-like consistency with just a bit of rubbing. So, it absorbs well. The hydration is also good. It doesn't absorb immediately, but that's to be expected given the texture! It would be perfect for use in the dead of winter. Especially for someone with super dry skin like me~ Last winter, my skin was so itchy and painful it almost bled, but this product helped me get through it comfortably. The quantity is also very satisfying!! Even with generous application, it lasts a long time!!
ConsWhile it quickly thins out to an oil-like consistency with the heat of your hands, it's initially difficult to dispense from the container. The scent is too natural for my liking. If you want to use it as a body lotion, you need to melt the texture first, otherwise it can be painful to apply.
TipIt works really well on elbows and knees in winter! It's much more moisturizing and effective than regular foot cream.
