The gentle ingredients make it suitable for all ages and skin types. It's famous as a parenting essential. The beast-sized container lasts forever, and being in a jar, you can scoop out as much as you want. When used alone, it creates a protective barrier due to its occlusive properties. It doesn't wash off with just water, so I mix a small amount with my cream. The powerful hydration is fantastic for dry skin.
ConsIts solid, balm-like texture makes it a bit stiff to apply. It gets even harder in cold weather, making application more challenging. It doesn't spread easily even with body heat. While the large size lasts a long time, I'm concerned about it going bad since it's preservative-free. Being in a jar means more air exposure, so I wish it came in various sizes. It seems hit or miss - even with the same Now Foods Shea Butter, some jars have clumps like in the photo, making application even more difficult.

It's great that I can use it on my hands, lips, elbows, and even heels. What I particularly love is the excellent value for money - a large quantity at an affordable price.
ConsAs others have mentioned, this product doesn't absorb well at all. It doesn't melt easily, and when you apply the undissolved bits to your face, they roll around like a scrub, which can irritate sensitive skin even more. On top of that, I'm prone to getting small bumps on my forehead, and on the third day of using this, I broke out with a lot of tiny blemishes there. If you have oily or combination dehydrated skin, it might be best to only apply this to your cheekbones and cheeks.
TipIt's best to scoop out a small amount onto your palm and rub your hands together to melt it with your body heat. Then, gently press it onto your skin with warm hands to help it absorb.

If your child's skin is dry no matter what you apply, this is even better than oil. If this doesn't work, you might need to use steroids... It's gentle and maintains great moisture retention.
ConsFirst off, since I've used Loccitane before, the absorption is... 1. It doesn't melt in your hands, and even when melted with a hair dryer, there are still undissolved particles that my child said really hurt... Even when I tried it, it felt like a scrub. 2. It's super greasy... My child looks like they haven't washed their hair. We almost slipped on the floor... 3. It's really annoying to use. Unless it's a perfect fit with dramatic effects, I'll have to reconsider repurchasing...
TipI slightly close the lid and microwave it for 30 seconds, then scoop out the slightly melted part to use... This method is good, but I'm not sure if microwaving is okay. If the good ingredients are no longer effective, then is there any point in buying products with USDA certification? Maybe I should just buy the pure version... I'm thinking of switching to a more hydrating product for my child's regular use, and if it gets worse occasionally, maybe I'll just use Bepanthen (only on the folded areas that get dry).

ConsThe absorption isn't great initially. If you're expecting it to be like a regular cream, you might find it quite inconvenient to use.
TipI've improved the absorption by melting the shea butter in a double boiler and mixing it with jojoba oil. I'm now using it on my 100-day-old baby and 6-year-old child, and I'm also mixing a small amount into my regular cream. Even the most expensive skincare can't match the hydration this product provides. My 6-year-old has finally stopped itching from dryness, and it even cleared up my baby's diaper rash. It's an absolute must-have for the dry season!

For someone with extremely dry skin like me, there's no other product that eliminates dryness and softens my skin in the dead of winter without causing any irritation.
ConsThe absorption is terrible. While I appreciate the simple ingredients, I have to mix it with jojoba oil to make it work. It's so hard to apply that you need to spend time and effort massaging it in and continuously patting it onto your skin.
TipAs mentioned earlier, it works well when mixed with a bit of jojoba oil or other simple plant-based oils.

I'm completely satisfied! First off, the ingredients are gentle, and the price for this volume is incredibly cost-effective. I used a famous department store brand's stretch mark cream during my first pregnancy, but this one is just as good in comparison.
ConsAs the name suggests, it's like butter, so initially the white particles don't melt immediately. Compared to other creams, it doesn't absorb as easily. However, if you mix in a few drops of jojoba oil and gently melt it with your body heat, it absorbs well.
TipUsing it together with jojoba oil improves hydration, reduces stickiness, and helps it melt better, making it even more effective.

ConsIt's inconvenient to melt it in your hands and doesn't spread easily
TipIt's easier to apply when the weather gets warmer, not just in winter. Keeping it in the bathroom while showering helps it melt a bit, making application somewhat easier

When I apply it to my little ones' dry skin, it gives them that honey-smooth complexion.
ConsThe absorption is a bit thick, so I mix it with an emulsion before applying.

Not only for feet and elbows... but I also use it on my chin or around the nose after exfoliating. It seems to have a soothing effect? That's why I keep using it.
ConsBeing in solid form, it doesn't apply easily. It would be better if it spread more smoothly; that's a bit disappointing.
