1. Smoothness After application, the finish is smooth without being sticky, which is great. It feels like it forms a protective layer on the skin. 2. Moisture retention As this layer forms, it definitely helps retain moisture for longer. 1. Application It's not that the application is bad, but it feels like applying cake frosting. It forms a slippery layer as you apply it, which some might see as a benefit, but I personally found it quite unpleasant. 2. Pilling It pills. Those with oily skin should definitely think twice before using it in the morning. In this hot weather, sweat can form on top of the cream, causing makeup to slide off, leading to a worst-case scenario. 3. Absorption Because it applies in a slippery manner, it's hard to tell if it's properly absorbed or not. While it's good that it's not sticky despite the slick feeling, it certainly doesn't leave a powdery finish. Those with oily skin should definitely do a patch test before using this product. - Hwahae UserDry SkinFeb 27, 2018
I was delighted to be selected as a Hwahae Trial Reviewer when I was browsing to purchase a new cream. After using the product, as someone with very dry skin, I pay close attention to whether the cream provides sufficient moisture and long-lasting hydration, without feeling heavy or sticky. I really dislike stickiness, but in the winter, I have to compromise on that to get good moisturizing effects. This product, however, did not feel sticky at all. It was not heavy, and the application was incredibly smooth and soft, almost like a sorbet. There was hardly any fragrance, and it did not cause any eye irritation, which I believe is due to the gentle ingredients. After application, my skin felt moisturized and plump. When I touched my face, there was no stickiness, but it felt soft and supple. I was very satisfied. The amount of product is generous, and the price is reasonable. The only downside is that, given my extremely dry skin type, the hydration may not be perfect for me in all seasons. However, I think it would be sufficient for the rest of the year, excluding winter. I plan to continue using this product until I find an even better one. Thank you for providing such a great product. For those with very dry skin types, the perfect, long-lasting hydration and moisture may not be fully achieved. The large product volume also raises some storage concerns. Dry skin users may find that adding a few drops of facial oil can significantly enhance the satisfaction and benefits of this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinFeb 26, 2018
The texture feels like a white ointment, but it applies smoothly and feels light and refreshing without any heaviness. There's no significant stickiness, and it absorbs pleasantly. On days when I don't wear makeup, I tend to skip my skincare routine, so this is perfect for a quick and simple application. I don't really feel like my makeup applies better on days when I use this. For my combination dehydrated skin, good hydration is key for makeup to adhere well and prevent dead skin cells from becoming noticeable. However, this doesn't seem to be a particularly moisturizing cream. This would be great for those who want to give their skin a break on rest days but find their skin feels dry and tight without any product. It's perfect for a light application. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 21, 2018
This review is based on my experience as a member of The Hwahae Testers. - The fragrance-free formula is ideal for those sensitive to scents. It doesn't even have the typical cosmetic ingredient smell. It's completely unscented. - The moisturizing power is excellent. After applying it before bed and washing my face with water the next morning, I could still feel a moisturizing film or oil barrier on my skin. It's hard to describe, but it feels like a smooth layer on the skin. - Despite its rich texture, it's not sticky. After patting it in to absorb, it actually feels quite light. For such a thick consistency, the absorption is surprisingly good. Oh, and I used this with my mom (late 40s). She has dry skin and didn't find it particularly rich. I'm mentioning this as it might be helpful for women in their late 40s or early 50s to know. - At least for my skin, it wasn't irritating. My skin isn't extremely sensitive, but it's not invincible either. It's neutral for my skin, which occasionally gets blemishes. - It's not so much a drawback, but this product seems more suitable for those needing deep moisturization rather than just hydration. Keep this in mind. It works well when applied after a hydrating cream, with the intention of locking in moisture. Given its excellent moisturizing properties, I'd recommend it to anyone needing intense hydration! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 15, 2018
I tried the sample and loved it so much that I bought the full-size product! First off, the ingredients are fantastic! When you apply it to your face, it feels like a hydration barrier is formed. Unlike other creams that can feel thick but sticky, this one is rich yet absorbs well into the skin, leaving it moisturized without any stickiness. When I touch my face, it feels so soft and smooth - it's amazing! In terms of application, I don't have any major complaints. The jar packaging is a bit concerning for hygiene, but it does come with a built-in spatula! Also, there's a slight rubber-like scent to it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinNov 20, 2017
As someone with dry skin prone to redness, flaking, and tightness, I've been using this product as part of The Hwahae Testers program, and I'm ready to share my experience! The texture is neither too runny nor too thick - it's like a medium-consistency cheese, white in color, and virtually fragrance-free. It applies smoothly without feeling heavy, making it perfect for both morning and evening use. It absorbs well into the skin, leaving it incredibly hydrated without any stickiness. Initially, I thought its lightweight nature might mean short-lived effects, but I was pleasantly surprised by its long-lasting moisture retention. It's been great for calming my skin's redness, and as someone whose dry skin often leads to itchiness, I've noticed a significant reduction in both redness and irritation after using this cream. It's also very gentle - I haven't experienced any blemishes or adverse reactions. I love how it doesn't feel heavy on the skin while providing excellent hydration. It seems like a great year-round product. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this cream! While I don't have any major complaints, those with extremely dry skin might find it not quite moisturizing enough. For an extra boost of hydration, try mixing it with a few drops of facial oil and use it as an overnight sleeping mask. - Hwahae UserDry SkinNov 20, 2017
# Here's my review after using the product for about 2 weeks as a Hwahae Tester winner. # My skin is thin, generally dehydrated, but not prone to blemishes. * Application & Absorption Despite having a texture closer to an ointment than a moisturizer, it spreads easily and is comfortable to apply. It absorbs quickly without feeling sticky. * Hydration This was the most satisfying aspect for me. Usually, I finish my skincare routine with [toner-hydrating ampoule-hydrating essence-emulsion]. To test this product's hydration power, I tried using just [toner-cream]. Even though I have deep dryness and sometimes feel tightness after skincare, this time I didn't experience any tightness despite skipping the middle steps. * Recommended Skin Type I'd recommend this to those with dry skin or deep dryness. * Volume Compared to regular moisturizers at 50g, this product is 75g. The volume seems quite good for the price. Although I received this as a Hwahae Tester product, I've been using it with great satisfaction and intend to repurchase. Personally, I'm not a fan of jar packaging as it exposes the product to air and dust each time it's opened, requires using a spatula, and needs extra attention to hygiene. If the packaging were improved, it would be even more convenient to use. Here's my current skincare routine. There's nothing special, but I thought it might be helpful to share: 1. Wipe the skin along the grain using a cotton pad soaked in watery toner. 2. Apply toner to the skin without a cotton pad, allowing it to absorb. (Repeat 2-3 times) 3. Apply a thin layer of cream, then add another thin layer to areas that tend to be dry. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinNov 20, 2017
The cream absorbs well and doesn't cause any irritation. I have super sensitive skin and often experience a tingling sensation with creams, but this one felt gentle when applied. Its firm texture, not runny at all, means a little goes a long way. I think it'll last much longer than the usual 50ml creams. The oil and moisture balance seems perfect, likely suitable for normal skin types. Once it's fully absorbed, it leaves a silky finish without much stickiness. I wish it came in a tube for more hygienic and convenient use. As someone with combination dehydrated skin - dry inside but oily in the T-zone - it fell slightly short of addressing my extreme deep dryness. I prefer applying generous amounts of hydrating creams, but this one leans more towards a nourishing cream, making it a bit heavy for liberal application. The silky, film-like finish might not suit oily skin types well. For best absorption, apply thin layers and build up as needed! The product guide suggests using a hydrating toner with the '3-skin method' before applying the cream. To combat deep dryness, try layering your toner multiple times or applying a serum before the cream. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 20, 2017
☆The Hwahae Testers Review☆ It has a soft texture like white cream. It feels as if you're applying whipped cream to your face...? You can spread it widely with just a small amount, so it lasts a long time. It's fragrance-free, which should be great for those sensitive to scents. While it provides good hydration, it feels light and not sticky. It has just the right amount of richness, not too much. The ingredients are good, and it comes with a spatula for convenient use. There's a tendency for it to pill sometimes when applying sunscreen or makeup over it. While it's moisturizing, it might feel a bit dry in winter, so it's probably best used in spring, summer, and fall. Not being in a tube format slightly reduces its convenience and raises some hygiene concerns..? Also, if you don't control the amount well, the cream may not absorb properly and cause pilling. If the cream pills on your skin due to poor amount control, don't pat it in. Instead, gently roll it over your skin. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 20, 2017
Here's my review as one of The Hwahae Testers: First off, I loved how well it absorbs and doesn't feel sticky at all. That's a big plus. With the weather getting so dry lately, my face would feel tight when I woke up in the morning. But after applying this product before bed, I'd wake up without that deep dryness - it was great. The scent isn't your typical pleasant cosmetic fragrance, but it's tolerable. I was initially worried about potential blemishes, but fortunately, I didn't experience any skin irritation. There wasn't really anything I disliked about it. I found this product to be truly fantastic. Don't apply too much. It comes with a small spoon - use that to scoop out a bit and gently pat it into your U-zone, focusing on absorption rather than rubbing it in.
