I'm recommending this based on The Hwahae Testers' suggestion! (Sorry for the late review, I've been busy with exams!) 1. First off, I'm impressed with its cleansing effectiveness. It's definitely on par with Sensibio! While it's a water-based cleanser and can't remove mascara, it does a great job with everything else! 2. I dislike unnecessary fragrances, so I'm pleased that this one is virtually scent-free! 3. Many cleansing waters tend to irritate my eyes, but this one doesn't at all! That's a big plus for me! 4. It also provides a decent level of hydration. I'd say it's much more hydrating than Bioderma products or Missha's Super Aqua line! It doesn't feel extremely gentle, more like average sensitivity. As I have super sensitive skin, I probably wouldn't repurchase it and might go for Sensibio next time. Still, among all the cleansers I've tried, this one ranks second best after Sensibio! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJun 5, 2018
- As a selected member of The Hwahae Testers, I'm writing this review. - ★Ingredients★ According to Hwahae, this product has zero harmful ingredients, so you can use it with peace of mind. While I don't have super sensitive skin, I always check the ingredients on Hwahae before purchasing products for my skin's health. Honestly, I was a bit surprised when applying for The Hwahae Testers because Laneige's brand image didn't strike me as a natural or gentle cosmetics company. This experience reminded me of the importance of checking individual product ingredients rather than relying on brand perception alone. As other testers have mentioned, the container indicates a pH of 4.5~6.5. However, I accidentally peeled off a sticker that revealed the actual pH range is 5.5~6.5. The key takeaway is that this product's pH is definitely between '4.5~6.5'! ★Texture and Feel★ The texture is excellent. After cleansing, you'll feel like your skin is truly clean. You know how some cleansing waters leave a residue that feels uncomfortable? This one doesn't have that issue at all. The consistency is similar to typical cleansing waters - fluid and easy to apply. The product dispenses well from the container too. ★Cleansing Effectiveness★ Fantastic! This might be the most effective cleansing water I've ever used. My makeup removal routine usually involves eye makeup remover, cleansing water, then cleansing foam. I typically use light makeup and would use one cotton pad for eye makeup and two for cleansing water. With this product, one pad for cleansing water was enough. I tried a second pad just to be sure, and barely anything came off - almost felt wasteful! For the first time, I felt like I could skip the foam cleanser after using this. For a product with such gentle ingredients, the cleansing power is impressive. ★Scent★ It's fragrance-free. I prefer all my cosmetics to be unscented or only have natural extract scents, so this suits my preferences perfectly. ★Repurchase Intention★ I'm 100% going to repurchase this. It ticks all my boxes - good ingredients, excellent cleansing power, and no artificial fragrance. It's a perfect match for my criteria. I can't find any flaws with the product's performance. If I had to nitpick, I'd mention the lack of clear information about animal testing. While I'm not certain if this product was tested on animals, there's no indication either way on the packaging. I've been paying more attention to this aspect recently, considering price, performance, ingredients, and testing policies when making purchases. Unless I find a clearly superior alternative, I'll likely repurchase this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 4, 2018
If you're looking for a product with great ingredients and effective cleansing power, this is the one! Among cleansing waters, it's the best overall in terms of clean feel, cleansing effectiveness, and scent. The fragrance is nearly undetectable, which is a plus. Many products have strong scents whether they add fragrance or not, which can be off-putting, but this one isn't like that. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated after use. Some products can make your skin feel dry and tight, but this one is very satisfying in that regard. Most importantly, its cleansing power is impressive. It easily removes light-colored lip products with minimal staining. For more pigmented tints, you might need to wipe a few extra times to remove the stained areas, but it still performs very well. Compared to products that only claim to cleanse while focusing on ingredients, this one is noticeably better. While it leaves your skin feeling moisturized, it can sometimes create a bit of foam. If it had a completely water-like texture, you might be able to finish your routine with just this product. However, since you'll likely follow up with a water cleanse regardless of which cleansing water you use, this works well as a point makeup remover. Keep in mind that for waterproof mascaras, you'll need a dedicated remover. Water-based products like this can easily get into your eyes and struggle to remove waterproof makeup completely. Be careful of skin irritation if you use it repeatedly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 4, 2018
1. The volume!! While the original price of 22,000 won isn't exactly cheap, the amount you get is truly massive. So it feels like you're getting your money's worth even at full price. When I first received it in the mail, I was genuinely surprised by its size! 2. Fragrance-free (personal preference) I actually prefer that it's unscented. With some cleansing waters, a strange fragrance can make you feel like you're not quite clean even after rinsing. This one feels gentle and pure without any scent! The cleansing effectiveness isn't as impressive as the ads suggest, unfortunately. At first, when I wiped my skin, it felt really good. But when it comes to removing eye makeup, you can't really scrub hard with a cotton pad, right? Even after gently wiping, I noticed some glitter particles were still left behind. That was a bit disappointing. Overall, it wasn't a bad product! However, I think it would work even better if used with specialized makeup removal pads or cleansing cotton pads instead of regular cotton balls. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 30, 2018
As a member of The Hwahae Testers, here's my thorough review: This product has gentle ingredients, so it wasn't irritating to my skin at all. It effectively removes most base makeup products, blushes, and eyeshadows. Scent: It's nearly fragrance-free. Although it contains peppermint extract, there's no noticeable scent or cooling sensation. Ingredients: You can really tell how mild it is. It's so gentle that if you told a friend it was a toner, they might believe you! Cleansing effectiveness: When applied with a cotton pad, even a light swipe effortlessly removes sunscreen, cushion foundation, regular foundation, eyebrow products, gel eyeliner, blush, eyeshadow, and lipstick. However, it doesn't remove waterproof mascara. Irritation: I have super sensitive skin that can react badly or even have an allergic reaction to products with harsh ingredients. But this product felt very comfortable on my skin, thanks to its high-quality formulation. It doesn't remove mascara (I use Peripera's New Ink Black Cara). Although the product description claims it can remove waterproof products, that's not the case. Also, it's not ideal for use around the eyes. When I gently rubbed my closed eyelids with a soaked cotton pad, my eyes immediately became bloodshot. The product is labeled as 'Eye Irritation Alternative Test Completed', but I'd like to request a re-evaluation of this claim. Some people may experience eye irritation. Since it's such a refreshing product, I like to take some cotton pads pre-soaked with this cleansing water when I go out. It's great for wiping away sweat from the back of my neck or around the edges of my face. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 30, 2018
I'm a big fan of Laneige products, and I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of The Hwahae Testers for this one! I usually use cleansing oils, but trying this water-based cleanser was refreshingly pleasant. What's impressive is that it's effective enough to replace my lip and eye makeup remover. The gentle, almost fragrance-free scent is also a plus. Unlike some eye makeup removers that sting when I use them with cotton pads, this one is much gentler on my eyes. I'll definitely be repurchasing! I wish it came in a larger size! Even though I use it with cotton pads, it's not like an oil where you only need a drop or two. It seems to run out pretty quickly. For those who use cotton pads to remove makeup, I recommend using high-quality ones. Otherwise, you might end up with lint on your face!
