First off, the texture is incredibly lightweight and refreshing, and it absorbs quickly. Just pat it in a few times and it's absorbed in no time! While some people dislike the scent, I found it fresh and pleasant. But what I want to praise the most is that out of all the toners I've tried, this one has been the most effective for redness and blemishes! I've always thought toners weren't very functional, but this product is different. It has a cooling effect and you can really feel your skin calming down and settling. I'll share more details in the tips section.
ConsPerhaps because the weather is still dry, I didn't feel like it provided a lot of hydration. However, considering it's a toner and given the benefits I mentioned earlier, I don't really see this as a major drawback. I'm considering repurchasing, but the price per volume is a bit high, so I'm hesitating a little.
TipThe photos were taken about a week apart. Due to lighting, the scars look more prominent in the second photo, but that's not actually the case. This toner really helped improve redness and had a great calming effect! I used to only have occasional small pimples and the odd inflamed one when tired, but since last November, I started getting large, severe acne. Once a big one burst, it wouldn't settle down easily, so now I'm just focusing on consistent care. Among the various products I've tried, this one shows relatively quick and visible results! Here's my tip: After cleansing, I spray my face 2-3 times with this toner that I've put in a mist bottle. Then I soak a cotton pad with the toner and leave it on acne-prone areas for about 5 minutes. This makes my skin feel cooler, and the redness and inflammation actually improve bit by bit! I use serums and moisturizers too, so I don't do this every day, just every 2-3 days. I've only been using it for just over a week, but I'm happy to see results. (The bottle isn't very big, so using it this way might use it up quickly. But if it works, I'll just have to buy more! For now, I'm grateful to have found a product that works for me.)

I decided to try this product because of its gentle ingredients. When my previous toner ran out, I was looking for a new one and noticed that among the popular products, there weren't many with zero caution ingredients. The instructions suggested using it as an exfoliating toner, so I even bought cotton pads to try it out. It feels refreshing when applied. The texture is completely water-like. Compared to my previous water-based toner, the Dokdo toner, which felt like applying water but slightly more hydrating, this Green Salvia toner feels like applying a non-evaporating alcohol. It's not exactly the 'ahh-refreshing' sensation you get with alcohol-based toners, but there's definitely a sense of freshness (and I mean that as a compliment). Honestly, I don't have problematic skin with blemishes, so I can't say it improved any skin troubles, but I did feel like it refined my skin texture. It also seemed to help the next skincare steps absorb better. The scent was pleasantly subtle too! It's lavender, and when you apply it right after showering before bed... the fragrance is absolutely divine. Despite the reason I'll mention below, I'd recommend this as a clean, refreshing toner for anyone who doesn't have extremely dry skin like mine.
ConsThe Hwahae Testers are about honest evaluations, not promotions! So here's my candid review. Lately, I've been using my boyfriend's toner (Alpine Berry) and it's made my skin quite dehydrated and finicky. I have very dry skin. Right after washing, if I apply this toner immediately, it's okay. But if I get distracted for a moment and my face dries a bit before applying, I don't feel that moisturizing, hydrating effect. Even when I apply emulsion afterwards, my skin feels rough. Applying two or three layers helps a bit, but it doesn't completely eliminate the rough texture. Adding more layers doesn't seem to increase hydration significantly. Once again, I'm reminded that for someone with very dry skin like me, it's not easy to hydrate with a water-based toner. I think I prefer toners with a bit more moisturizing power, something with a slightly milky texture.
TipWith water-based formulas like this, I like to use a cotton pad to sweep it across my face once for cleansing, then pat more into my skin with my hands for hydration. If my skin feels too dry, I sometimes splash a bit more water on my face, pat it dry with a towel, then apply the toner.

I applied for The Hwahae Testers program hoping the Green Salvia Treatment Toner would help with my blemishes, and I'm so grateful for this opportunity! I started using the toner the very evening I received it. After reading other reviews suggesting it works even better with the essence from the same line, I used the sample essence together for about 3 days. I'm actually so impressed with the essence that I'm about to order it right away! First off, I love everything about the toner - its texture, scent, how well it absorbs, and the finish it leaves. I always use toners with a cotton pad, and this one leaves my skin feeling so refreshingly clean. After using just the toner, my face somehow looks clearer and more radiant. It's not sticky at all and provides just the right amount of hydration for me. I'm not a fan of overly moisturizing products, so some people might have different opinions depending on their preferences.
ConsThe only downside is that the amount seems a bit small for the price. I'd definitely keep using it if they offered a larger size at a more affordable price! Those with dry skin might find it a bit lacking in hydration during winter. Of course, for my oily skin, the light feel is perfect! Also, using this doesn't completely prevent blemishes. However, when I do get a breakout, it seems to have a soothing effect - though that could be just my imagination. I think it's because the formula isn't too heavy.
TipAs mentioned in other reviews, it seems to work even better when used with the essence from the same line. I'm planning to order it and try them together! For those who want more hydration, I'd suggest first using it with a cotton pad to cleanse, then patting some additional product directly onto your skin with your hands for an extra moisture boost.

My skin type is normal, but I think I would have given it 5 stars if I had used it during my extremely oily skin phase. Personally, I prefer watery toners, so I didn't mind that it absorbed quickly or felt less hydrating. I've used 5 bottles of Mamonde toner before, and comparing the two, this one doesn't cause any burning sensation or tingling when applied. I also didn't experience any deep dryness. It seems to be a very gentle product indeed. The scent reminded me of natural cosmetics.
ConsStrangely, while I don't feel any deep dryness, the skin's surface feels dry as the hydration evaporates quickly. The finish feels a bit too matte for a toner. Since I usually apply toner with a cotton pad to wipe my skin, I hardly feel any surface hydration. Also, I find the price a bit high for the amount you get, which is disappointing.
TipThis product seems like it would be fantastic for those with oily skin types. For me, it's too light of a toner at the moment, so I'll start using it when the weather gets warmer.

Never really felt the need, you know? But after winning this test, I dug out some cotton pads and gave this exfoliating toner a try for about two weeks. I have to say, my skin texture definitely became smoother and felt great! While I can't claim this product is superior to others, it's incredibly gentle and I've been using it without any blemishes or issues. And the best part? The scent! It's not an artificial fragrance, but more of a natural aroma. When I apply it to my face after washing, the scent just puts me in such a good mood! It makes my skincare routine something to look forward to. I'm thinking of buying another bottle when I finish this one!
ConsI didn't expect much hydration to begin with, but it is a bit lacking in that department. It is just a toner after all. Also, I didn't feel like it was significantly better than other products.
TipAfter using the exfoliating toner, if you pat it in one more time, your skin feels super soft and nice!

I didn't even expect to become a Hwahae Tester, I just applied for the event because the ingredients looked good and then forgot about it. I'm so thrilled to have been selected!! I'll write a really honest review! I thought the product I was using before was very moisturizing and soothing, but this one is even better. The calming effect is amazing, and I can feel my skin texture improving significantly. Apart from one serum from another brand, I've never used a product that improved my skin texture this much. I keep my old product as a backup, but I always reach for this one. I highly recommend it for those with super sensitive skin or blemishes!! I'm sure many of you are dealing with mask-related skin issues these days. I wear a mask for hours every day at work, but since using this, it's helped so much with calming blemishes that they don't even appear now. It's like it gently soothes and balances my skin before breakouts can happen... For those who are hesitating, you must try it! I've tried almost everything except the Dokdo Toner, so after finishing this, I'll have to try that one and compare.
ConsHmm... Downsides... There really aren't any... If you're looking for a super hydrating toner, this isn't it. It absorbs quickly and gives a refreshing, soothing feeling. There's a slight herbal scent, but even though I'm sensitive to fragrances, I liked it... I don't think it'll be polarizing. So... in conclusion... there aren't really any downsides.
TipUsing it with a cotton pad soaked in the product worked best for me! Gently patting it along the skin's texture is perfect.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThis review is based on a product I received as a winner of The Hwahae Testers program. I have combination dehydrated skin that's super sensitive. When skincare doesn't agree with me, my skin immediately turns red, itchy, and my dead skin cells go crazy. Even when dry, my skin gets itchy. What I love most about this product is the ratio of active ingredients and its scent. Oh, and the fact that it doesn't feel rich at all. Plus, my sensitive skin didn't have any adverse reactions. Since this is a water-based toner, I used it as an exfoliating toner to help remove dead skin cells. It seems to gently exfoliate and does a good job of evening out my skin texture. Among exfoliating toners, it evaporates quickly, so its efficiency might not be the best, but that means it's not rich, making it feel light and refreshing. One swipe alone wasn't enough hydration for me, so I tried using it as a skin pack. It dries quickly when applied to the skin, but surprisingly, my skin feels hydrated. While it's not enough on its own, it's refreshing and doesn't cause any itchiness from dryness, so I guess it is moisturizing. And the scent is lovely. It has a pleasant herbal aroma. After using this product, if I add more hydration, it seems to have a soothing effect and works well. Today, I'll try applying it by gently patting it into my skin with my hands.
ConsBeing a water-based toner, it gets used up too quickly. It's only been about a week since I started using it, but the amount has noticeably decreased, so I feel like I'll run out soon. Also, as expected, the hydration evaporates too quickly.
TipAfter using it as an exfoliating toner or skin pack, if you immediately apply an essence or a deeply hydrating toner, it provides great hydration without feeling heavy.
