I was struggling with skin issues and trying various products when I decided to prioritize soothing. After watching a video about this product being gentle and calming, I decided to give it a try. To cut to the chase, I absolutely love it! I used the set including the toner, ampoule, and soothing gel. For the first 1-2 weeks, I didn't notice much difference. My blemishes were severe, and my skin was flaky and irritated from misusing a cleansing device. While other products stung, this one felt gentle and didn't cause any discomfort. Now, after almost a month of use and about 70% of the bottle, I'm still using it morning and night! It's non-sticky, has a cooling effect, and is great for soothing the skin.
ConsI don't have any major complaints. However, using just the toner might be a bit drying now. If you don't like sticky textures, I'd recommend this. I have combination skin, and while it might be a bit drying on its own, most people use other products alongside it, so I don't consider this a real drawback. It's a shame that there isn't much advertising, so many people might not know about this product.
TipIf your goal is to soothe your skin, I recommend applying the ampoule that comes in the set all over your face, then soaking a pad with the toner. Before placing the pad on your face, apply another layer of ampoule to problem areas. Leave the pad on for 5-10 minutes to allow absorption. When I'm concerned about blemishes, I apply the ampoule, then layer on Nature Republic's Vita Pair C Dark Spot Serum before using the pad. This toner is much less irritating than others, which is why I prefer using it for this method.

First off, the texture is incredibly lightweight and refreshing, and it absorbs quickly. Just pat it in a few times and it's absorbed in no time! While some people dislike the scent, I found it fresh and pleasant. But what I want to praise the most is that out of all the toners I've tried, this one has been the most effective for redness and blemishes! I've always thought toners weren't very functional, but this product is different. It has a cooling effect and you can really feel your skin calming down and settling. I'll share more details in the tips section.
ConsPerhaps because the weather is still dry, I didn't feel like it provided a lot of hydration. However, considering it's a toner and given the benefits I mentioned earlier, I don't really see this as a major drawback. I'm considering repurchasing, but the price per volume is a bit high, so I'm hesitating a little.
TipThe photos were taken about a week apart. Due to lighting, the scars look more prominent in the second photo, but that's not actually the case. This toner really helped improve redness and had a great calming effect! I used to only have occasional small pimples and the odd inflamed one when tired, but since last November, I started getting large, severe acne. Once a big one burst, it wouldn't settle down easily, so now I'm just focusing on consistent care. Among the various products I've tried, this one shows relatively quick and visible results! Here's my tip: After cleansing, I spray my face 2-3 times with this toner that I've put in a mist bottle. Then I soak a cotton pad with the toner and leave it on acne-prone areas for about 5 minutes. This makes my skin feel cooler, and the redness and inflammation actually improve bit by bit! I use serums and moisturizers too, so I don't do this every day, just every 2-3 days. I've only been using it for just over a week, but I'm happy to see results. (The bottle isn't very big, so using it this way might use it up quickly. But if it works, I'll just have to buy more! For now, I'm grateful to have found a product that works for me.)

I love that it's not sticky and has a water-like texture that absorbs quickly. The scent might be a bit divisive, but I found it okay. It's really just a toner that creates a solid foundation for your skin, preparing it for the rest of your skincare routine. I'd definitely recommend this to those with oily skin!
ConsThe downside is that because it's so watery, you don't see any dramatic effects. I didn't really feel like my skin improved after using it. It's just a so-so product, I guess? I'm not sure if it's because I've been wearing a mask all the time lately or if this product just doesn't suit me, but I did get a few blemishes. They weren't too bad though!
TipWhile I mentioned getting some blemishes, I'm not certain if it was due to this product. If you dislike rich textures and are looking for a toner that cleanses well, this might be worth trying!

It seems great for soothing the skin. As someone with combination dehydrated skin that responds well to Houttuynia Cordata, I experienced no irritation, and its calming effect is as good as Houttuynia Cordata itself! The watery consistency makes it perfect as an exfoliating toner, leaving my skin feeling refined. It's excellent as a toner. Plus, the herbal, grassy scent is natural rather than artificial, making it pleasant to use.
ConsIf I had to point out a downside, it might be a bit drying for those with very dry skin due to its ultra-light texture.
TipI used it as an exfoliating toner. I applied it with a cotton pad to refine my skin texture, then patted in the remaining product for absorption. On days when my skin felt dry or irritated, I applied an extra layer by hand like a skin, followed by essence and moisturizer. This routine worked perfectly for my combination dehydrated skin!

I'm writing this on the last day of the review period to ensure I've used the product as long as possible. Positives: Ingredients, texture, absorption, scent, and soothing effects With 96.9% Salvia plebeia extract as the first ingredient, I think it's great from an ingredient standpoint. The texture is like a regular water-based toner that absorbs well and leaves a fresh finish, making it perfect for summer. I'd highly recommend it for those with oily skin! The scent is natural and pleasant, not artificial at all! The toner has a light green tint from the natural ingredients. It's so light that when applied with a cotton pad, it's transparent and not noticeable. For skin soothing, when I had a sudden outbreak of small blemishes on my forehead, I used it as a 30-minute skin pack. It was great at reducing the swelling! However, it was a bit disappointing in terms of reducing redness...
ConsDrawbacks: Too refreshing for dry or combination-dry skin, somewhat disappointing in reducing redness I didn't have many issues personally, but I wouldn't recommend it as a winter or seasonal transition toner for dry skin. It's very refreshing~~ While it's good at reducing swelling for skin soothing, it was a bit disappointing in reducing redness. I couldn't take a photo, but when I squeezed some small blemishes that had appeared on my forehead, it left red marks here and there. So I did a 30-minute skin pack with the Salvia toner, but the redness didn't completely subside... 30 minutes isn't a short time for a skin pack, so I was a bit disappointed that the redness only partially subsided.
TipI occasionally added 2-3 drops of a BHA-containing ampoule to this toner, and I found this method great for daily exfoliation while keeping the skin fresh, especially for those with oily or combination-oily skin. Also, I liked the Salvia Calming Ampoule sample from the same line that came with it, as it was effective in soothing red blemishes. I have many ampoules to use up now, but I'm considering purchasing the Salvia Calming Ampoule after I finish my current ones!

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsHere's a review from The Hwahae Testers: The texture: I love that it has a fluid consistency. Even though I have dry skin, I really dislike heavy formulas, so I appreciate how lightweight this product is. Application: Given its texture, it naturally applies well. I tend to avoid sticky products, and this one isn't like that at all, which I love. Absorption: Some lightweight products can be slow to absorb, but this one sinks in quickly, so my skin doesn't feel congested. Skin reaction: My skin is sensitive and prone to breakouts at the slightest provocation, but I didn't experience any adverse reactions with this.
ConsHydration: This is both a pro and a con. I'm not sure it would provide enough moisture during the extremely dry winter months. I didn't experience any deep dryness because I use an emulsion with good hydrating properties. However, if you use an emulsion that's too light and only provides surface hydration, you might find your skin feeling dry.
TipLayering tip: It's not a groundbreaking tip, but this product works well for the '3 skin' or '7 skin' method. I usually apply three layers, and it doesn't feel heavy while effectively replenishing moisture.

Being super sensitive skin, my face usually turns red and breaks out when I use incompatible products. However, even after using this for several days, I experienced none of those issues, so I'm really, really enjoying it. This product also has a soothing effect on blemishes, so I highly recommend it for those with sensitive skin. If you use it together with the ampoule sold here, you can feel the calming effects on blemishes even faster!
ConsI found this product to be absolutely fantastic, with no downsides during my use!
TipI keep this in the refrigerator. Using a chilled toner helps lower skin temperature, which helps reduce redness, so that's how I've been using it!

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThis review is based on my experience using the product twice daily, morning and evening, for about 7 days from March 13th to 19th after winning it through The Hwahae Testers program. ☆Skin Profile☆ Combination dehydrated skin prone to periodic acne breakouts Blemishes tend to flare up during menstrual cycles Not particularly sensitive to external irritants During the testing period, my menstrual cycle had just ended, so hormonal influences were minimal My skin was in a recovery phase. As a toner, it's (decent). It has a clean, water-like texture that absorbs well. The scent is natural and refreshing, not artificial. It seems to quickly soothe blemishes. While I'd love to rave about all its good points, please consider the drawbacks I've noted as well.
ConsUnfortunately, on the very first day, I applied it in the morning and by evening, I noticed two new pimples on my cheeks. I'm not sure if it's due to incompatible ingredients or perhaps mask-wearing, as I hadn't worn makeup for a while. However, with continued use, the blemishes started to subside, so I can say it does have a fairly quick soothing effect. Disappointingly, as someone who religiously uses toner morning and night, I didn't find this product particularly special compared to others I've tried.
TipI recommend applying it directly with your hands for absorption rather than using a cotton pad.

This product absorbs incredibly quickly and has a pleasant, subtle scent that isn't overwhelming. When applied with a cotton pad, it seemed to refine my skin texture. Even without exfoliating during use, I didn't notice any excessive dead skin cells flaking off.
ConsAs it absorbs so quickly, you might find yourself using it up faster than expected. My skin seemed to drink it in, so I found myself reapplying often. I'd recommend using this alongside other skincare products for best results. In my case, pairing it with a snail cream created a perfect balance for my skin.

It absorbs quickly, making it perfect for summer use. The application is nice, and what I love most is that it's not irritating. It's excellent as an exfoliating toner and would also be great for soothing the skin when used as a skin pack.
ConsThe scent might be divisive - it's like a subtle herbal aroma? Also, while its watery texture allows for quick absorption, it might dry out too quickly for those with dry skin. It seems more suitable for oily skin types or as an exfoliating toner.
TipIt's great for soothing as a skin pack, and you could also put it in an empty mist bottle to spray on areas where dead skin cells are flaking.
